I ordered a couple 3/8 wire tied fogys in the hot sauce color with a black blade. Also threw in a few packs of hyper wire split rings for good measure.

Flooding puts fishing all kinds of places...and once a population is established it doesn't take much to flourish especially in places with little predation or fishing pressure

Only regret was what I called a guy when he and his wife walked up right next to me during the first big wave of covid. I've been working on myself and trying to be more patient, calm and understanding with people doing dumb things. Its a struggle that I've always had and tho I have made progress it still gets away from me from time to time. Fishing wise I have no regrets...caught alot of fish and alot of big fish. Only things I will do different next year are: throw bladed jigs more and try to figure out the small mouth in my local lake.

I asked about these way back in March but I never pulled the trigger on them because honestly I never really got onto a good bladed jig bite. Now that we have another fishing year behind us...whose throwing these? What are your opinions of them? What colors are you throwing besides the basic ones? By basic I mean GP, white & black blue

Another thing I'd add is smaller versions of full size baits seem to work for me for pressured fish. Like instead of a full size lipless I throw a 1/4 oz...instead of a full size spinner bait throw a booyah pond magic or even a beetle spin. One mistake I think people make in a pressured pond is only throwing finesse overlooking the power of a reaction bait to draw a response strike. You gotta remember these fish see finesse stuff alot and can become wary even to that...but sometimes a bait flying by can still draw a reaction.

Color seems to matter in two situations to me: pressured bite (either from fishing or weather) and clear water. 95% of the time you can get by with black, green pumpkin or white.

I fish from shore so water depth dictates what I throw. I used only the 1\2 oz for a long time and did well..but I recently started throwing a 1\4 and found certain applications for it.

I've tried a few different ones with mixed results. The one I still use is JJs magic to dip my soft baits. I'm not sure if its the color, the scent or both..but it can make a difference.

This is the exact same thing I do. Boss finesse flip...homemade skirt with 2 tabs (44 strands)...not finesse cut but trimmed right under the hook. My favorite jig honestly.

I'm a bank guy and most of my outings are in the 2 to 4 hour range. I usually bring 3-4 rods...1-2 3600 boxes with baits and terminal stuff and a few bags of plastics. Also ill second the water...especially if its gonna be a longer outing.

Something I use alk the time in clear water or pressured situations is a weightless trick worm. Its even more finesse than a senko...and in my opinion just as effective.

I don't wanna be "that guy" but I'm gonna be! I love bass fishing and follow all the tours to an extent...I just like the sport. That said BASS has always been the one for me. Grew up watching it...the shows they put together combined with the guys doing the live coverage are top notch...and there is some nostalgia mixed in for sure. Also there are guys in other organizations ive always been a fan of Andy Morgan, John Cox, Bryan Thrift just to name a few. But for a long time BASS had the most impressive roster...good to see some of those big names coming back.

The Sierra rods are very nice...I have a medlight spinning and its the best spinning rod I've used. That said I'm a sucker for falcon rods. I've never used the low rider series but have several of the old bucoo micro guide rods and absolutely love them.

I always worried that I overestimated by alot so I got a scale. Weighed something at home on my girlfriends food scale then compared it to mine and it was dead on. Next day I went fishing and took the scale along to check myself. Caught what I thought was a 4 and a 2.5..they were 3.89 and 2.61 respectively. I was happy with that.

I live in ice country...fittingly I do ice fish a decent amount...mostly for bluegill and crappies. Several yellow perch trips mixed in as well. Otherwise I organize, spend way to much on gear and impatiently wait for ice out.

I'm kinda hoping this keeps up for a few days...I'm off Sunday and would love to catch a few. Weather looks good so I should have a shot. I was throwing a twister on an under spin and a jerk bait today...the shad they were feeding on were bigger than the twister smaller than the jerk bait...they just wouldn't commit. For Sunday I've got a small single blade spinner bait, a lipless and a finesse jig tied on. See what happens I guess.

Was out fishing my local pond today having no luck...not uncommon this time of year being bank bound and the water being so cold. At the end of the day I saw fish busting on balls of shad...water is maybe low 40s at best. Not sure if they were largemouth,smallmouth,white bass or pike...whatever they were I couldn't get them to hit anything. Seemed odd to me in water that cold. Anybody else had this in cold water? Also what should I throw to catch them? Never fished schoolers in these conditions

Ill go along with what Michigander said. My dad is 65...very knowledgeable in alot of things..can build you a house, wire it,plumb it. Taught me to change a tire, head lights, basic car maintenance. Also the guy who took 3 hours to figure out how to turn his cell phone on...god knows how long it took him to learn how to text. I think the battery thing represents 2 things: yes there is an abundance of stupid people...also that people are sue crazy and will start a lawsuit up for anything. 50 years ago if you drank battery contents good riddance to bad rubbish. Now if you do it your family will come after GMC for 50 million. Most likely get it too.

Do you find it works in the same water color as the fire craw baits?

Agree with this. My home lake has very few pike but the last several have been like this. This summer I tied on a brand new swim jig with a brand new menace grub trailer...about 5 casts in pike cut me off. Last month I was throwing a $6 shad rap ...nada...tie on a $10 frittside and get a pike almost instantly. Luckily that one didn't cut me off.

Agree that yes you should try to stay positive..but you have to be realistic about what's gonna happen. I'm hopeful that they develop a good vaccine and get it on the market in a timely but safe manner so we can at least slow this way down. Just think its foolish to believe that we could go to sleep one night and wake up with the slate wiped clean.

I made mine with a tab of florescent orange, tab of bright lime green and half a tab of chartreuse. I cut the tabs in half and layered them..I'm happy with how it turned out.

Never really see these mentioned. See lots of guys throwing this color in crankbaits,lipless and even spinnerbaits but not alot in bladed jigs. So with people throwing the fire craw and even solid chartreuse in dirty water in spring I just built my self a firetiger skirt and threw it on a siebert fogy. Anybody out there use a Firetiger bladed jig?

I think my preference directly ties to the fact that I live up north and our lakes are locked up with ice for months. That first wave of fish that really push up in spring are special to me because its the first bass I've caught in months..its a sign of things to come. Plus alot of my biggest fish have come in cold water be it spring or fall. I caught 4 largemouth over 6lbs this year...all of them in 55 or under water temps. 3 in April/may 1 in October.
