  1. When you have to add another 900 square feet to your house to hold your gear. :-[
  2. I gotta call foul on this one!! Unsportsman-like conduct on Speedbead. ;D
  3. Dogs can be trained to ride in a boat. I started taking mine out when he was 8 weeks old. He sits at my feet until I hookup with a fish or act like I'm getting a bite. He learned at a very young age to fear any kind of hook or lure. (Megabass Pop-Max in the end of the nose) On hot days we take breaks and swim. He always lets me know when nature calls which is usually morning and evening. I wouldn't recommend putting a dog in an inflatable boat unless the dog is used to it. Could be bad for you and the pooch.
  4. Take all the time you want with mine. I only want two or three back anyway and definetly not in a hurry. To be honest with you, I probably won't even fish them once you paint them. I'll put them on display with my other customs. Make sure you sign the bottom of mine. I keep going back and looking at the paintjob on those 2x4's. Dude...they're sweet.
  5. d**n dude, you done messed around and turned into a lure maker. Very nice looking baits and paint jobs!! BTW, I'm mailing out those lures to you today. Yeah, I know I suck. Mr Procrastination, that's me.
  6. Pretty cool to look back like that. I forgot all about some of those pics. LOL at the one smallmouth with the gut. Looks like he was comfortable where he lived.
  7. It is the last one. I think they are out now. They do feel good on the hands for a $10.00 handle. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_16523_100004001_100000000_100004000_100-4-1
  8. Somebody is a Daiwa fan....those Croix rods look sweet. I love that blue.
  9. Ronnie, I do have the schematic for these reels. Here is the schematic for the US 600. It is identical to the 300 with the exception of part 41 which is a drive shaft bearing. The 300 didn't come with this extra bearing. It is a PDF file so you will need Adobe to view it and save it. http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/schematics/schematic.php?url=Quantum/Quantum%20US600.pdf The bearings I buy from different places in bulk like Boca Bearings, VXB Bearings and Smooth Drag. Reel Mech sells bearings on his site and I was not aware of this until recently. The bearing size you need is 5x9x3 for the spool. I wanted to put ceramic bearings in but did not have any in that size. I installed ABEC 5 SS bearings and they do spin longer than the older style. That is also because the older ones were probably trashed.

I know you laughed at that Bizz!!!
  11. Reel Mech or other reel junkies, I have been tearing down all my reels and getting them ready for the upcoming year. Well, to make a long story short, I finally ran out of newer reels and started in on my old ones like the Quantun US 300 pictured below. It and the three others I own have been good reels especially for deep cranks and I wanted to give them some new life. I cleaned them, replaced the bearings inside, and give them longer handles for increased cranking power, as well as a good polish job. After examining the insides, I noticed the drive shaft wasn't bearing supported on the bottom side. It was only supported by the roller bearing. It this very common in older style reels? It looks like it would cause excess play in the drive shaft causing premature wear and tear. The drive shaft rested in a brass pocket and was held there with an e-clip. The only thing between the two pieces of metal was grease. The reel appeared to be fine other than 10 years of neglect hence the bearing replacement. I was just amazed this whole reel was operating on two spool bearings and a roller bearing. Fishing reels have come a long way in 15 years.
  12. Me too, except mine are Redwing Logger's boots. I do have to admit that I used to have a pair of Tony Lama distressed leather boots. Man, they were comfortable too. Good looking boots Robert.
  13. I'm sure you have your reasons and I totally respect that, but I really hope you get to make it. I would love to have a BS session with you at the end of each day. I hope everything works out for ya!! Russ, I'm still disapointed that your not gonna make it. Dang it!! ;D I'm sure you are too.
  14. Shoot Redline Robert a PM, I think he has used it.

Hey man, just take a deep breath. We all have our days, months, or years. I hate winter with a holy passion and have been in a bad mood since November. Hell or high water, I am pulling that boat out of the garage in 2 1/2 weeks. I can't take it anymore!!
  16. Other than a few perch that T-rig has posted on here, those are probably the most brightly colored perch I have ever seen. Those things are beautiful!!
  17. Who said you need a certain amount of posts to post a link? I think Glenn made it so to keep people from spamming his site.
  18. www.megabassusa.com Just so you know, you have to be a member before you can order anything from them. Make sure you sign up before placing an order. After signing up you will get special offers via email before they are made public. When they get a new shipment of hard to find colors and lures in, you will have first shot at them.

I like the design but that particular one they have posted in the pic looks like it would be a little rough on line. Lots of sharp edges!!
  20. Good idea!! How about Gallee-nipper for a name? ;D
