  3. when I was a kid me and my brothers would go to the pier and find empty cans and discarded line tie the line to the can tab roll the rest around the can and with a hook and some cut bait( all the anchovy guts, heads, etc that people would leave on the pier) would catch Spanish mackerel all day; When we needed to get the bait to the bottom we used everything from lug nuts to spark plugs for weight. Makes me really appreciate all my fishing toys I got now.
  4. Has anyone heard anything about these boats? A few people i talked too seem to think they are to new to recommend them(still havent worked out all the little problems) while others say they would be the best becouse they are so new, will do everything to gain customers. I was hoping you guys may give some opinions. Thanks Sean
  5. I used them while in the military and could not get used to them. I completely lost depth perception, and i was walking not running down some lake. Maybe the newer ones are better i don't know.
  6. i get and like all the ones you mentioned with the addition of FLW. FLW is similar to bassmaster but with a little more info and less do it yourself projects.

  14. I just got that cabela's super mag, and love it. It holds everything! If you get it I'm sure you'll be happy. Just a warning if you fill it up, like I did, it will put a strain on your shoulder.
  15. has anyone used a rod with recoil guides? I was looking at the cabelas XML ti with these and wondered if there is a real difference. G-Loomis also has one(out of my price range) the GLX Thanks
  16. A funny story, me and my friend were crappie fishing one day after work(first time I ever used live minnows). we caught about fifty, I caught what I thought would be a good dinner, nothing else. When we got back to the dock a warden was checking licenses and bags I thought we were busted(had no clue what the limit on crappie was) When he looked in our livewell he grabbed my dinner fish and took it to his truck. He called on his radio, cell phone, etc. Took it to the marina scale and came back to tell me I missed the GA state record by 3 ounces, It weighed 4lbs 1oz. All I got was a few pics and a full belly!!!
