Agree ^ you just need to fish soft plastics more and more takes a wile to get used to it but just like power fishing you had to continuesly throw a spinner bait or a crankbait over and over till you finally started catching them the same with plastics you just have to get used to it by Continuously practicing that presentation.

I like medium but I crank squarebills with a moderate fast glass rod and glass is a little heavier than a regular graphite. Even before I started using glass I used a medium fast graphite for squarebills it depends on the blank, some are more stiff and a Medium can feel like a MH some are more moderate and feel like a Medium even though they are a MH you really need to just get your hands on a couple of different brands and see what rod is going to feel better for you. I’m not brand specific but if you ask us what brand is the best, your going to get one million different opinions. Best recommendation is to get your hands on a couple of rods see what feels best for you.

I think that if you like st croix rods which are fantastic rods I would get an SClll blank on the mojos rather than an SCll blank. I say that because with a spinning rod you need extra sensitivity to feel the Slightest bites. I feel that for wacky rigging, neko rigging and all finesse worm/plastic applications you need that sensitivity. There are a many different brands at your price point that are extremely sensitive so I wouldn’t skimp out on sensitivity with a spinning rod.

What’s your budget? I think spinning rod I think 7 Medium Fast with some good sensitivity. Need to know your budget?

Your rod seems optimal for squarebills just probably not good for squarebills bigger than a 2.5 can be done but probably not the best choice.

I been using them for years since Walmart stop carrying the gamakatsu and I have no issues whatsoever Hook up ratio is good. Their not my favorite but they are cheap and they work extremely well.

Yes it has happened to me before and I held on to it to long to return it so I gave it away. It was expensive and I guess this is why I didn’t wanna let it go but eventually I realized that I had no need for it and didn’t want to sell it half price on Craigslist or spend money shipping it so I let it go to someone that could get some use out of it.
