  1. That is crazy for sure. It makes sense for deer and such, but fishing....
  2. That was my exact experience too on my first use of 832 as well. The spool I bought was on clearance(not sure if that had anything to do with it) and was the high yellow neon color that went on my top water bc setup. The line kept snapping and I was losing baits and lures so I unspooled that line and went with FC.
  3. June bug is the Rambo of worm colors in my experience. I have caught plenty of bass in perfectly clear water conditions as well as muddy. It is easily my go to color if I am uncertain.
  4. I’ve only got a few of them myself and I really do need to get them wet and see how it works out.
  5. 1) Tubes 2) “Chunks” for jig trailers 3) Ned Rigs 4) Umbrella rigs I have more Ned rig plastics and jig heads thanks in large part due to Karl’s monthly box that I could equip an army. Its an itch that I can ignore every time mostly due to not wanting to grab my spinning set up over another baitcaster. Chunks honestly don’t make much sense when there’s so many trailers that have a lot of action versus little to none. Tubes are one item that I literally plan a trip to the tackle store just to buy and end up passing them up for something else every time. Last time it was Rage tail trailers and chatterbaits lol Umbrella rigs are probably going to be my next purchase. The price tags have been my de-motivator for these. For all I know, my PB is waiting for me in one of these lures. I just know it!
  6. No friend you aren’t bad at it I promise. It’s almost like an acquired taste that happens out of nowhere versus over time lol
  7. I dare say that our water temps here were/are around that temp as well.
  8. Literally this has been my experience so far. I do prefer the BPS sticks and Yum dingers because of price.
  9. This was entrapment!! You provided a link to the bait and the bait monkey jumped out at me! Luckily for me they are out of stock! Congrats though!
  10. I guess I entered through posting on this thread? Count me in!!
  11. Of lures that work. I have tried time and again to catch or even get a fish to bite on a chatter bait for at least a year and nothing. Until yesterday. The wife and I have been getting the baby’s room squared away for when he/she gets here and after we were done for the day she took a nap and I went to the boat ramp for some bank fishing. The water was stained up pretty bad and it is a pressured area plus I already had a 3/8 oz chartreuse zman chatter tied on. Second cast I got a good bite about five feet off the bank on retrieve and...my mind was blown. I was so full of joy that I actually got a bite on a chatter bait that I couldn’t help but just stand there and smile! I felt like a gold prospector panning virgin ground and then finding it. I did have a rage tail white paddle trailer on it too. Sometimes it’s just the little things my friends lol Oh and the rest of the trip produced a few more bites and nothing else, but it was already a win before I left.
  12. Exactly! There’s so many! How many different ways to fish them is my question.
  13. Oddly enough I am not a frog fisherman either but I was going to buy a BPS qualifier for a frog setup myself. Hasnt materialized yet, but those reels seem to be a really good deal for the money especially considering a frog setup won’t get used much unless it’s absolutely on fire for me first couple times I’m out.
  14. I’m gonna look at some of those I did pick up some of those strike king jigs and trailers that come in the little plastic boxes at Walmart. Got two 1/2oz PB&J jigs and two white 3/8oz jigs. Maybe they will produce.
  15. Weird that you mention KastKing because my next reel is most likely going to be one. Normally I stick to what works/has been working for me and you would think with my previous post that Daiwa would be it. However, I have literally heard a ton of good things about KK reels and am itching to try one.
  16. As far as soft plastics go I will second your choice of the sweet beaver both in 420 and green pumpkin because I have had a good bit of luck with them both pretty much equally on a weightless T-Rig. Zoom trick worms, especially black, scuppernong, and June bug have kept their places in my shakey head line ups.
  17. As a huge Riverside fan back in the day, my vote would go them as well because they made a little bit of everything in terms of variations with their plastics.
  18. Maybe I just haven’t had immediate issues with mine yet.
  19. That’s basically what I have been doing but I haven’t had any luck at all. I figured a more specific type of jig would make some difference but I wasn’t sure.
  20. Whether in years or use, have you or do you own a reel that has never given you a single second of trouble? I ask because I just realized out of my six baitcasters(not specifically asking on bc’s) the only two I haven’t had trouble out of are my Daiwas. Both are the Tatula 100’s. Both of my lews and both of my Abu’s have given me some headaches, but my Tatulas haven’t given me a single bit of trouble both in function and dialing in. They are surely my first two choices in a grab and go circumstance as I have them setup for T-Rig and Shakey head. To be brutally honest, I think I avoid using my Lews reels on purpose due to noisy gearing and possibly the most difficult reels to get dialed in. Abus aren’t noisy but they are the Revo SX flavors and that side plate popping off issue is very nerve racking. Edit: I’m not a poster child for Daiwa it’s just my experience with the brand thus far. My specific reels are: 1) Lews tournament SLP(noisy cast and retrieve internally that I would liken to a weed eater lol) 2) Lews Mach Crush combo(very good setup when it isn’t being finicky) 3) Revo SX(side plate popping off) 4) Revo ALX(much more forgiving on the side plate issue, but it’s there) 5+6) Daiwa Tatula 100’s- great so far.
  21. What I mean is, I’ve noticed on YouTube that some personalities show off fishing a swim jig in a T Rig fashion by bumping/hopping it off the bottom. They don’t really elaborate what type of jig they use or at least the personalities I’ve seen don’t. So is it a football head type of jig or just any type of jig? T-Rigging is my absolute favorite way to fish for bass and I would love to be able to use a jig in that manner.
  22. This. I normally pack enough baits and lures in my bank backpack to equip a small army just so that I always have choices.
  23. I have never really had much trouble catching fish at any time of day honestly. Sure it may pick up and drop off at different times, but it doesn’t slow me down from trying.
