Backpack load outs for the bank/boat
What do you guys take with you? I take my backpack whether bank or boat as it carries what I use primarily very easily. I bank fish mostly as well. Here’s my load out: I am primarily a plastics fisher because it is simply more enjoyable for me. The KVD senkos are for wacky rigging as well as the smaller pack of Zoom Houdini Magnum’s. The Reaction Innovations Spicy Beavers were a sleeper hit on the water for me as I had never even heard of them prior to buying a pack just to give it a try. My wife didn’t want me to open up the Plano trays because of the cats we have and hooks and stuff. One tray is terminal tackle with shaky head jigs and T-Rig off set hooks of all sizes and bullet weights. The other is full of different swim jigs/skirts/trailers and the other is a bit of top water and crankbaits. Items not pictured are a ziplock bag with a roll of toilet paper(in wife’s car) and a can of sunscreen as well as my water bottle. The items in this back are always changing of course especially the different plastics. I do need to pick up a couple spools of fluorocarbon To keep as well. Nothing like a bird nest that ruins an existing spool so bad that it has to be removed and not having anymore on hand.

You newer anglers need enthusiasm then experience
This is exactly why I am a fisherman and not a hunter. I do go hunting sometimes, but not with the enthusiasm as I do for fishing. I can bank fishing in my honey holes all day long in nearly triple digit heat and not catch anything and feel like I had the adventure of a life time every time. I cannot for the life of me fathom why folks want to sit in a tree or blind in (insert cold temp.) and struggle to suppress a cough or not let that fart slip out. I don’t have that problem while fishing lol

For the Bank fisherman: What "pushes" your buttons while fishing?
Just today for example, the wife and I went to a local spot where there were a few other people. The other folks were very distant to us somewhat so it initially wasn’t a bother until they brought their kids out to the bank and the screaming and hollering started. Gunfire does not pierce the air like a screaming child does. The two kids(boy and a girl) were crying and screaming because they couldn’t pet the ducks that were in the middle of the river so they started acting out and getting louder. We packed up and left a few minutes afterwards because that is one thing I will not set through.

New purchase review: Daiwa Fuego CT/H2O Xpress Ethos HD
Admittedly I was both intrigued and skeptical of the T Wing system aperture prior to trying it. Can I tell you exactly what the T wing offers or improves on over the standard line guide? Nope. I have noticed that the Twing doesn’t hold on to the residual “goop” that floats on the water after retrieval. By no means am I saying it’s a deal breaker to have a standard guide do that, but I have noticed that my spool of fluorocarbon does not retain that brown color from the water. My tatula 100 feels leaps and bounds more quality than my Lews tournament LFS that I bought at bass pro.

New purchase review: Daiwa Fuego CT/H2O Xpress Ethos HD
Exactly right. I have particularly found my “quality comfort zone” in the $100-$150 dollar range for reels and roughly $80-$100 range for rods. I have worked a lot of overtime the last two months to get what I wanted in that range and it works well for me. Found an Abu Garcia ALG low profile reel on sportsman’s outfitters for $129.99($250 reel) and bought it without hesitation. Deals are there so long as you look and are patient. Now I just have to find a rod...

I thought the magforce didn’t start until the Tatula models?

I agree with @new2BC4bass on this. Because I didn’t know any better at the time, I bought the same exact Pline Fluor clear and it would break at the slightest amount of tension. Now I know why that stuff is still in stock everywhere...you can’t even give it away. I too bought my first Daiwa bc recently which was a Tatula 100 and it is flawless. It currently sits on a bass pro carbonlite rod 7’ MF for my shaky head rig. Love it and am now a fan.

Just when you thought you had your own..
The things we come across just to wet a hook lol

Just when you thought you had your own..
Yep just tied off for whatever reason.

For the Bank fisherman: What "pushes" your buttons while fishing?
This is an exact example of why I purposely fish where there aren’t other people. I have a bad temper when it comes to stupid people especially when I just want to be left alone.

Just when you thought you had your own..
Little slice of heaven. When I went bank fishing last week I trekked approximately half a mile further than I normally do Along the lake bank. I came across a spot that seemed untouched by mankind and was beautiful all around the slew. I could not find one single beer can or piece of trash on the ground anywhere. I silently proclaimed my new found honey hole as my own. Then as I turn around and set my back pack and rods down to retrieve a bag of zoom plastics....I see this. Of course it’s sideways when I upload the picture, but it’s a white power cord just wrapped around a branch for seemingly no reason. I literally felt robbed. I’m probably 1.5 miles alongside the bank at this point yet I find this crap. I can’t stand people who do this.

Need help finding a new rod for my new reel
I have read some good things about 13 fishing as well and I will keep them in mind. I tend to lean towards M or ML because I can feel the sensitivity better when I hooping the lure across the bottom.

Spinning reels just aren’t fun anymore
My wife wanted to catfish the other evening while I was bass fishing so I got her set up on a spinning setup with a Carolina rig and when I cast it out for her it felt weird lol

Spinning reels just aren’t fun anymore
This thread reminds me that I need to tear down my spinning reels for some due cleaning and lube.

Need help finding a new rod for my new reel
Thanks to @Hammer 4 and his suggestion of sportsman outfitters, I now have a new Abu Garcia ALX bc reel on the way lol $129.99 for a $249 reel and I’m not complaining. Anyway this reel will be a dedicated T rig setup, but I need a good rod in the $100 range. 3/16 to 3/8 oz bullet weights will be used with 12-15# Seaguar Red Label. I’m preferably looking for something in the 6’9” to 7’ length Medium or Medium Light. I normally look at the Abu Vendetta rods first, but they are all gone in my normal places of interest and everywhere else it seems like. Im open to any suggestions right now for a rod and I may go a little higher on the price range if need be. Thanks!

Winning a gift card!
I’d get a 1000yd spool of Seaguar Red Label. I go through that stuff a lot quicker than I thought I would.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I reckon so and to be honest I thought the brand was just hyped up because of Covid in the beginning, but I am a believer.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I ordered up three packs of mondo worms from googan squad today because I have been itching to try a 10” worm on Texas rig! My local places never have them in stock and bass pro local to me never has them in watermelon red or June bug. Bad thing is I got an email from the confirming the order and it said to allow 10 business days to ship....:(

Shakey Head Size?
3/16 has been the money for me so far this year and I don’t doubt that you will have luck with it too.

New Zoom Z3 Trick Worms ?
I just picked up some Z3 Magic trick worms from zoom and tried them this evening at the river bank. Got three small bass in 20 minutes. Great bait for sure!
