  1. I had no clue that bass are active at night. Honestly I had no clue until about five minutes ago. So I took to google for what lures to bass fish at night with and saw that a lot folks use spinners, buzzbaits, chatterbaits and top water. What are your go to lures/baits for night time bass? T-Rigs I assume are out?
  2. Wow that is weird. I wonder if it has anything to do with separation of the salt or if it may have gotten a dose more while in the packaging process?
  3. I know right! I am a poster child for Seaguar fluorocarbon as it it my go to line for my setups and I think their Red Label FC is perfect for the price of $14.99. I wouldn’t pay a dime more for it though because that is my cut off on any line with the exception of braid which I rarely use much.
  4. Bingo!! If that’s not it, it’s very very close. You’re good lol
  5. It very well could be my friend. That was over 20 years ago and I remember thinking that surely a huge fish would love it. The exact name I don’t have a clue to what it was. It was purple and maroon with silver flakes in it.
  6. This is exactly my experience minus the brother in law and I was about 10 years old. I had only seen a curly tail worm in a bass fishing magazine. I was allowed to walk to the back part of our pasture where we had a medium sized pond that had a decent amount of bass for its size. I saved up my money and bought a pack of Zoom purplish maroon curly tail worms and some hooks(the wrong ones) and some bullet weights. Not only did I buy the wrong hooks, I put the worm on completely wrong. BUT, I did straight retrieve because I didn’t know any better and still caught some nice bass lol
  7. That’s exactly what I was conveying Mobasser, I honestly did not intend for the thread to go the direction it wound up in.
  8. I got one of these in a combo with a an Abu Garcia Revo SX in 7.3:1 and absolutely love it and all for $159.99 at BPS.
  9. Weird you bring up that color as I found and bought a pack of zoom motor oil worms with chartreuse tails not too long ago. Haven’t tried them yet.
  10. I am very partial to watermelon red colored lures with all kinds of flakes and I hope I can get my PB soon on it or something similar.
  11. I’ve been seeing in your guys responses as well as reading online about the June bug, green pumpkin and black/blue flakes suggestions and I will make it a point to use these colors on my next trip. I am a loud and proud bait monkey victim so I have several dozens of soft plastics ready to go lol thank you guys so much!
  12. I use natural colored plastics when the water is stained and brighter colors when clear correct? Texas/wacky/Shakey head rigs specifically* I understand that this is a broad question due to the biting habits being different constantly, but I want to make sure That I am as equipped as I can be with knowledge going forward. I have caught fish on neon colors in both clear and stained waters as well as natural colors in the same regard. I feel that I am going off of what “looks fun” versus what an actual educated guess would support. I haven’t had a lot of luck at all lately and I think my choice in colors may have something to do with it. Thank you!
  13. I can’t get anything to bite anywhere on any lure in my locale. Wacky, t-rig, spinners, buzzbaits, nothing. it has been a very dry couple of weeks here.
  14. 1) Chatterbaits. All colors. With and without trailers.Have never caught a single fish on one regardless of weather or conditions. I’ve given up on this one. 2) Ribbon tail/curly tail worms. Nothing so far this season. Not even a bite. These are being phased out of my tackle as we speak for more senkos and creature plastics. 3) Square billed lures of any depth. Lipless are the only ones doing anything in my AO. Nothing is to say that I won’t ever try these again, but it has really been disheartening to not catch anything on them.
  15. My apologies friend. I got a later start than I wanted to this morning(nearly 11am) and it was 97 degrees by the time I got to the lake. I fished for a couple hours from the bank, but didn’t catch diddly squat.
  16. I have a Tatula 100 on a 6’9” MHF for my top water applications.
  17. Sorry guys after reading some of the comments, My intention wasn’t to say that casters are better than spinning setups. My observation was that I keep finding it harder and harder to want to use one over my caster(s). Hear me out on this: I have more miles backing up to curbs on a spinning setup than I do going in a straight line with a caster. I am just slowly becoming more fascinated with what I can do with a caster than what I was doing with a spinning setup is all and I’m finding the precision of a caster to be more profitable than a spinning setup in any situation.
  18. Slinging a rooster tail or a small better spin in a small creek may be the next trip out for my spinners if I can pry myself away from my casters.
  19. Ever since I bought my first bait caster and learned to use effectively a few months ago, I haven’t touched a spinning reel at all. My spinning setups haven’t left the man cave In months. I’m not saying that they don’t have their place, I just don’t get the warm and fuzzy for them like I do my baitcasters. Small creeks seem to be the most logical place for them at this point for me outside of cat fishing. Was it like this For you?
  20. I have never tried this technique.YouTube shows me multiple ways of rigging of course. I like the hook though the center of the senko/worm method. I have googan lunkerlogs, kvd senkos, yum dingers, zoom everything it seems like. I do not have any drop shot type of weights so that’s out. Any particular method or plastic you like to use? What colors do you suggest?
  21. This. The very first time I spoke with DVT I felt like I was getting great advice. These guys are truly wizards and surgeons when it comes to gear!
  22. That’s also the very reason I quit going by reviews on fishing gear. I REALLY wanted a Tatula 100 bait caster but kept putting it off because of a few negative reviews. I finally bought one and haven’t been happier. I too have wondered about the that quantum reel, it may very well be my next setup lol
  23. I have the same size in bone color and I have noticed this as well. Doesn’t hurt the effectiveness but it’s annoying all the same.
