  1. I really like a shorter (less than 7 ft) rod for blade baits. I find them most effective with very short hops (just enough lift to feel it vibrate) and a shorter rod makes sure you are not overworking the bait. Also have a big preference for spinning rods but I prefer them in general. I don't think the weight of the lure actually matters as much when it comes to rod rating as the pull from these baits water resistance is so much stronger than the weight.
  2. These are interesting but only go up to 7 grams (1/4 oz) so wouldn't work that great for pinching. What application do you use them for?
  3. When do you guys throw metallic or opaque colors vs natural/translucent? Assuming the water is not very dirty.
  4. Flash mob Jr. With 5 - 3.8 Rage Swimmers three with 1/8oz heads and two with 1/4 oz heads. This is probably considered a lighter rig?
  5. Glad I'm not the only one that thought that about the Fury. What model Okuma Guide Select do you use?
  6. I used the Fury 795SB a lot this year for the umbrella rig and it worked great except for casting. It did not load up enough to really fling the rig so I don't get the best distance. I have been wondering about softer tipped or slower rods that fit the bill but have not narrowed it down and I have no idea if they will work better.
  7. I thought MLF had a 3 year contract? Didn't Brandon and Gerald have to pay a fee to break that last year?
  8. Nice! Were they up shallow yet, still deep or did it change by day? Moving baits or slow (I see at least one was on a big jig)? And wow that largemouth in the first pic, how much did that weigh? I am going out this weekend hoping they are still biting but going to be in the 30's in the morning ? I will keep fishing as long as my hands can stay warm enough.

The recent explosions in success on the pro circuits with Berkley Powerbait Maxscent has me questioning effectiveness of scent once again.
  10. Love my Fury 705cb for shallow to medium divers.
  11. I've been throwing a Flashmob Jr a bit for the last few years. One main concern I always have is if it is running strait. I had all 1/8oz heads on it but recently switched to 3/8th on the bottom two and middle wire to try to keep it more straight. I think that might be helping but I have to wind it a lot faster now to keep it up in the water column. Curious if you all put any heavier heads on the bottom two or middle wire to help keep it straight?
  12. Hmm actually might have done this discount after my order it looks like my email shows a reduced price.
  13. Looks like they are excluded. Only item in my cart that didnt get the discount was a Megabass Spark Shad
  14. Smells just like Powerbait to me but maybe slightly stronger, its like a crab/craw scent. I have noticed a little bit of liquid in the bags, not as much as gulp but I assume this means they add some of this liquid to the bag after the fact and the new porous formula absorbs it. This means they could potentially sell that liquid just like the Gulp recharge. I have actually put some Maxscent baits into my Gulp Alive tub and they have blown up in size from absorbing so much liquid. Thanks for the replies. I will stick to keeping them in the bag and also making sure I seal the bags really tight.
  15. I've been noticing that MaxScent lures lose their scent pretty quickly when outside of the bag. I have some that I prerigged and others I put into a Plano (alone) and a day or so later I can't really smell that Powerbait scent anymore. With Gulp I know they sell the Recharge fluid but is there anything equivalent for Maxscent? Will this Powerbait Attractant work? https://www.amazon.com/Berkley-BACP8-PowerBait-Attractant/dp/B0000AV1ZO/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=powerbait%2Battractant&qid=1598549932&sr=8-2&th=1&psc=1 I have no idea if its the same scent as Powerbait/Maxscent. It would really suck to have to always keep them in the bag until I am ready to cast like you have to do with Gulp.
  16. Pacasso Shockblade has holes in the blade. Stays down better than any other I've used. The 1/2 oz is perfect for the faster retrieve I prefer in 2 to 6 feet of water. The newer Pro (Aaron Martens) version does not have the holes so rises more. Very unfortunate because it's much nicer in other ways.
  17. What weights do ya'll use are various depths? First one I got was just 7/16th and was shocked how it didn't stay down very well so I have since purchased 1/2 and 3/4oz heads.
  18. Curious, Why did you add an O-Ring? The action seem to be better or something?
  19. Forget? I have never heard of this. Just Texas rigged or what? How do you work it?
  20. What heads do you use for these? Just got some and they are way smaller than I expected.
  21. Love my 705cb for squarebills to med divers.
  22. How's it diff than the regular Smoke S3?
  23. Sweet. Got my first spool in the mail yesterday (12lb) going to try it as leader on all my baitcasters.
  24. I know you guys said the tickness is the same but is the actual Pound Test/Breaking the same you think?
  25. Was the best bed fishing bait for me this year. Added super glue to keep them from sliding down. Durability was better than average I would say. (For non Elaztech baits) Also caught a few fish fishing it on drop offs as I would standard TRD. All on 1/10 oz Ned head. So I have been pretty impressed. But this was the first non TRD Ned bait I have tried.
