Northern Michigan fall smackdown (pics)

Took my annual leave and hit my home state for a month and did some smallie fishing. Had a pretty good time.

I am traveling back from Mexico tonight via Dallas Fort Worth. Get home tomorrow.  Hope I didn't miss the last wave of biters before bitter cold, big winds and the inevitable hard water.   Love to blast around in the Lund at least a time or two before putting her in long term storage.  You know what it's like.  Hope we can fish together next fall my friend.

Nice work. I applaud you for tolerating the god awful wind we’ve had here for what seems like an eternity now.

Haha ya it was bad a couple days but the spot lock came in handy. Waves were coming over the front of the boat lol.

Sounds good to me,  thanks.

There will be some video of our most recent assault on Lake Baccarac in few days.

Congrats on the new set of orders and I see some big ND brown bass in your future.

Nice!

Were they up shallow yet, still deep or did it change by day?

Moving baits or slow (I see at least one was on a big jig)?

And wow that largemouth in the first pic, how much did that weigh?

I am going out this weekend hoping they are still biting but going to be in the 30's in the morning ?
I will keep fishing as long as my hands can stay warm enough.

It was a weird fall. Warmest ive experenced that i can rememebrr. So we nevee got a true shallow fall bite. There are some years we can get 5lbrs in 1ft in reeds in the fall. This year most the fish were 10-15ft. Had a couple in 5ft on topwater. Usually its moving baita for us this time of year. Not this year it was tubes and jigs that took the win. 1/2oz. Caught a couple on single keitechs but not many. Largemouth was a little over 6 on a jig. Got a 6lb smallie as well on a tube and a bunch of 3-5s. Water temps didnt drop till late fall this year but when i left temps were 54 talked to my buddy two days ago and water temp was 52. But with the cold nights it will start dropping fast.
