  1. I did not know that. Thank you for the education.
  2. https://arkielures.com/ Has anyone tried their baits? Not too sure about the quality, but I like their prices
  3. I need to replace a feathered treble hook on my original Pop-R as the feather came loose today after hooking a fish. What brand(s)/size do you suggest? If possible, I'd prefer real feathers too.
  4. Is it suitable for a grassy bottom as well? Some of our local lakes that I frequent are covered with algae, and hydrillas so naturally I'm wondering if it can still be effective if I throw a swinging jig into that mess.
  5. Dang. These look pretty good, and they might be the answer to all that algae that we have in our local lakes. What size hooks, colors and how do you fish'em, Kent? 3.5 or 4.5?
  6. No other rod lovers or experts with opinions?
  7. Is that Tatula w/AGS guides? Sounds good, sir. Have you had a chance to A/B with Expride? if not, what other rods have you tried that are on par with Tatula Elite?
  8. What's your take on this rod? I'm looking at both Shimano Expride MH, and Tatula Elite model, and both do look good on paper. Which one would you choose for TX rigging/worm fishing/ etc. Of course, there is that infamous - fragile? - AGS guides that I need to think about.
  9. I recently purchased one as well based on their feedbacks, but made a mistake of ordering it from TW. ARGGGG.
  10. How wild? I mean, does the color of a hook have any impact on the frequency of landing fish?
  11. I just saved some $$, and more importantly a major headache. Thank you.
  12. I've been searching for a cheaper version of Gamakatsu hooks. I love their wacky hooks, but they are not cheap. After doing some research, I found these VMC wacky hooks. They look good in pic, but the review says otherwise. Has anyone tried them, and if so what's your assessment?
  13. This bait reminds me of Yum Warning Shot. Am I way off?
  14. What would you - model/brand - attach to it?
  15. So, who makes them and sells them?
  16. I've never tried this, and I like the look of this weighted hook!
  17. You won't when you start catching fish with that set up
  18. I do. I just don't care for a traditional dropshot setting as it can really get "messy" after catching a fish or two.
  19. After something like 30 casts, the weight falls off but the bait is fine.
  20. No issue with my knots. It's the clamp down version. Where can I buy this?
  21. This is my version of a dropshot. With this setup, the weight doesn't even last a day.
  22. It keeps breaking off during cast/retrieve. What can be done to avoid that from happening? It's great to cast a far distance only to get disappointed when the weight doesn't come back. Tungsten is putatively environment friendly, and all that jazz which is great, but they are $$ too. Surely I can't be the only one with this issue?
  23. So, what do you pros throw when it's raining or semi-pouring? I had some success with weightless Zoom ultra vibe speed craws, but there has to be other options out there. What say you?
  24. I use 30lb braid with no issues. Having a swivel is a must, however, in order to avoid tangling issue. My two cents.
  25. Either they have a different business model now or had an overhaul of a company's internal structure. Who knows. All I know is they lost me as a customer, and - like most of you folks - I spent a ton of $$ there before the pandemic. Life goes on.
