Rod and line decision
A M or even a ML would be much more versatile then a MH. As for the line, just use what you like. If you arent having issues with the Invizx keep using it.

What's your favorite line of rods?
Do you have to baby that Steez in the yak? I see that there are a decent amount of people who say the AGS guides are really fragile.

Stuck in limbo...
When the water hits around here 45 the fish start to feed more aggressive and stack up. The fish know what time it is regardless of water temp, they know the nights are getting shorter and even if the water is cold they will still become active. I like to throw a chatter bait with a creature bait trailer like a smallie beaver. I can fish it like a jig or fish it more like a crank bait depending on the mood of the fish. The other bait I have to have tied on is a JB. CBs can be great too, but I do much better on them when the viz is 3ft or less and or the wind is really blowing. Dont forget shakey heads and ned rigs. The fish around here stay keyed in on craws for most of the prespawn. So not only do you get numbers, but size as well.

Stuck in limbo...
I dont think its that cut and dried. There aren't many guarantees in fishing and at what temp the fish will spawn is another example. I've seen fish on beds with water temps in the mid 50s and some fish may not spawn until the mid 60s or warmer.

Spinning Rod Recommendation
It would be great for tubes and wacky rigs. The ML XF throws small JBs really well, but the XF don't have a big tip section. If you dont have your drag set right you can lose a lot of fish on trebles that you wouldn't with a softer rod. The 7'3 felt like it was just more powerful slightly longer version of the ML. If you plan to use baits heavier then 1/2 you would be better off with a different rod IMO. The Enforcer may be the way to go.

Spinning Rod Recommendation
The Avid X uses a different blank, different eyes and handle configuration. Im not a big fan of the Avid X myself. The Victory is almost like a Mojo Bass in the sense that its got a great blank with inexpensive components to keep the cost and weight down. If SC starts using SC3+ for the Avids I wouldn't be surprised to see a redesign of the Avid X.

Treble hook rod keeper
I use the Fuji hook keepers and put Owner safety caps on the exposed trebles. You can also cap all of the trebles and run the line through the keeper when its sitting flush against the rod, kind of like a DS weight. The caps can ruin feathered trebles so Ill hang that hook on the keeper and if Im transporting or carrying a few other rods ill take a old grub cut into a few peices and cover the points of the hook.

Swap 3000 a 2500 spools?
I asked a Daiwa Rep the same question about the 2500 and 3000 being interchangeable for the Ballistic and Fuego. He said Daiwa doesn't recommend it because there is slight difference in size of the frame and or rotor which can cause line management issues. It sounded to me like you could get away with it, but if it doesn't work its on you.

Lures you want to try, but just haven’t.
Thats not a problem exclusive to you. There never seems to be an abundant supply of them, so when you have the opportunity make sure you take advantage of it. So far the hookup has the best selection of colors I've found in the US. They just redesigned their website so I would bet the Ghost Gill thing is just a glitch. Ghost Gill is one of the first colors to sell out, so having a few wouldn't be the end of the world. The Owner is a pretty cool guy, If you do find out that the entire order is all the same color he'll make it right somehow.

Better fishing rod?
The BassX and Fury for the most part are overall evenly matched. It comes down to personal preference of which one feels better in your hand. Since you have the opportunity to handle them in person take advantage of that. Bring your reel in and see how they balance on each rod, just make sure you ask the owner if its ok before hand.

Casting rod
If you spend another 10$, check out the 13 Defy Black. Ive never used them, but in hand they feel like they should cost a lot more then 60$. The composite Defy Cranking rods really impressed me with how light they were. I have shorter graphite rods that weigh more.

Lures you want to try, but just haven’t.
Make sure you order at least 2 before the water starts to cool down. I would also recommend checking out the 85sp. I beat em down this past fall with the 85. I didnt get my 1st untill early september last year and it looks like its been war.

Stupid question about rigging up a wacky worm
I the center of gravity and rig it there, so it falls horizontal. The last thing I want is the bait to spin, it just causes line twists.

Stupid question about rigging up a wacky worm
Yep, that 1 gets me too. I also dont understand why ppl will spend $100 or more for a sensitive rod and refuse to use tungsten.

As I get better with the Drop-Shot - my hook is getting bigger. 2/0?
I thread my DS baits on them when the fish are biting short. Not the prettiest looking rig but the results are undeniable. Last year finding straight shank worm hooks were hard to come by. I had about a dozen packs of 1/0 and 2/0 nekos I didnt use so I tied mono keepers on them. They worked really well for chicken rigs and mojo rigs.

Next Shimano
The Chronarch MGL is a great reel, but the 20Mets are amazing. The JDM Met is a 100 vs the USDM 150 and the handle on the 6.2 and 7.1 are shorter, I think by 10mm, I think the JDM 8.1 goes up to 90mm. If your going to be using it for SBs the handle length may not be an issue. To me the Chronarch feels longer. The Met is taller because of the frame design but its not as long so your hand wraps right around it.

Hook Broke!
Ive broken quite a few hooks on snags and even had a few break when unhooking a fish. I lost a good fish last year when my Gami EWG bent out. Ive used them for almost 20 years without bending one on a fish like that. I was using a SC ML so I think it was just a dud hook. Never lost a fish because of a hook breaking though.

Favorite lure
Im curious, what do you consider to be a high tech ned rig? LOL, I remember the Frenzy line. They used to have promo deals where you would get a free bait. I had one of the black and chrome lipless cranks for years, seemed like I couldn't lose it TN 70s were a different story though.

What's the state of tackle inventory?
Things have gotten much better since last spring and summer

As I get better with the Drop-Shot - my hook is getting bigger. 2/0?
As long as your matching the size of the hook to the size of the bait and keep a semi slack or tighter line the bait should stand out well enough. I think the action of the bait suffers with heavy wire/big hooks.

My favorite finesse jig
Picasso makes a great finesse FB jig, the Aaron Martens Tungsten FB jig. The profile is just a little bigger then the Ktech but it has stout wire 3/0 hook, weights range 1/4-3/4. They have a ball head design too which is called Little Spotty, same size same hook just a ball head. The colors are great too, Molting Craw has done really well for me.

Crankbait suggestion ~
If its not to windy to get a long cast 05 and 07 Shallow Shad Raps can get that deep. If the wind is too stiff to efficiently use shad raps the X Rap Shad Shallow.

Suggestions on a reel for chatterbait setup
I use MGLs for everything, I would consider SLX MGL and Curado 70. You should be able to get 60 yards of 15lb FC on it which is plenty even if you hook up with one at the end of a bomb cast. There LMG not Albacore, so you dont have to worry about getting stripped. Not sure if you got the spec r or not but the specr and SLX or Curado 70 would be awesome for weightless plastics like senkos and such. Not to mention the color of the curado 70 looks great on the Levantes.
