  1. Thanks. Can’t “like” any more messages today.
  2. How does it feel in hand? You'll have to keep me posted ?. I'm looking at it as a reel mostly for jigs, sometime in the future.
  3. is that actually a green finish i spy?
  4. Hey ya'll, Recently I believe Lew's released a new BB1 pro model. Bass pro and tackle warehouse each display two different aesthetics for their "new" BB1 pro. Both of these were labeled as "new" on their respective websites for a little while. The tackle warehouse one is blue, and the bass pro one has a black/gold finish. I'm wondering is these are simply two different finishes offered by the two venues, or if there is actually a difference in the model between these two reels. Is one more recent than the other? Thanks.
  5. Honestly, I have no idea. I'd start with your favorite and see what the fish like, adjust from there
  6. I figured I would post up some other fish from Spring Break. Ya'll, I struggled fishing over break. Skunking plagued me. Really could not get much going and I missed too many bites. But I had an absolutely wonderful time fishing. I lived on the water, fishing a ton every day, and I was learning constantly. This is the best I have responded in this sport to coming short of what I wanted, because I know my time is coming. It just didn't happen then. But, I did get a few more fish! So figured I'd post em up. And... its open season here where I am in NY. Everything is thawed :). Life is good.
  7. Agreed! Beautiful picture and fish
  8. devils horse no takers on it over break but I ain't given up on it. I rather like em
  9. I don’t know if that is the same spool as the Curado MGL but I found out this past break that the Curado MGL slings a baby brush hog on a light t rig like it’s nobody’s business. It’s ridiculous.
  10. Thanks for the info! I'll look into making them when that becomes an eaiser possibility for me! Catch some more of those hogs this season
  11. I thank a guy I ran track with, and eventually the coach, for getting me into it. The coach offered that I could come over and fish at a lake he lived on and he would help teach me. He taught me to fish trolling a fly rod with a weighted line and fly meant to target a certain depth while paddling backwards in the kayak. I caught a lot of fish, not just bass, doing that. I wanted to keep coming back, but I didn't like the idea of fly rods much less trolling them. He then lended me some spinning rods and I really liked those. He continued to mentor me for a while, and then came Youtube fishing videos for learning the basics of bass fishing. The coach was not really a bass fisherman and I wanted to learn conventional bass techniques, so I taught myself most everything associated with that. I caught my PB from the lake this man lives on, and I still have a great relationship with him. I visited again this past break and said hello. I did go fishing with my Dad when I was young, and I also thank him for that. But I didn't really seem to take an interest when I was young, and really, my Dad does not enjoy fishing as much. But he loves hunting, and I grew up hunting with him since I was very young. So I thank him also for that so I could grow up with a love for the outdoors. And I thank bassresource! I'm at a stage now where this and actual fishing is how I prefer to learn more about bass fishing, along with watching tournaments.
  12. Alright you son of a gun where can I get em? Taking your word for it because just sayin that is a pretty insignificant looking creature bait. But then again it has the same essential design as a z hog, which is a deadly bait
  13. Docks are fast becoming one of my favorite forms of cover to fish. They’re like healthy green lily pads. I just expect fish to be there.
  14. https://americanbaitworks.com/collections/decals Looks like they are sold out of it right now but that is where I got mine
  15. Siebert’s California Craw with a pit boss in California color is pretty sweet looking
  16. Shout out to Aberdeen Bait and Tackle, a local store around NC. If you are anywhere close, it’s worth a trip over there. Be prepared to spend more than you thought you would. Anyways, figured I’d make a trip over there and see if anything looked good while I’m in town. Picked up a couple packs of z hogs in my favorite color, California 420, and some packs of brush hogs that I know you can’t find on Tackle Warehouse, except one. Their collection of zoom baits is pretty amazing there.
  17. I used to really like power superslick when I was tying leaders for everything. Thank goodness I stopped doing that. No more spending tons of time tying on new leaders before every trip. Lately for frogging and punching I’ve just been using original power pro just cuz I can find it anywhere and it’s cheaper. Don’t really care.
  18. His spinnerbait, rip rap, Johnson silver minnow, and sharpening a hook are some I’ve particularly enjoyed thanks @Glenn!
  19. Froggin is an awfully simple deal for me. I use a Lews 7’3” heavy with 65lb braid. if it ain’t a it’s second best
  20. Had a long conversation with a fellow last night about spinnerbaits. He agrees that the Stanley head is his favorite he used. He also said that heads like Zorro, because of the way the head pushes more water, cause the spinnerbait to rock back and forth on the retrieve for better action.
  21. Cool deal. This it what Tackle Warehouse calls it.
  22. Almost certain I own that color. This is the one I got I circled the name at the bottom. Apologies for blurry photo By the way… ain’t it an absolute killer bluegill color?
  23. And they seem to come through wood, grass, and pads pretty well too. It’s a good head. I recently made some Zorro long arms specifically for fishing in lay downs. I’ll shoot a picture later. Someone gave me a lot of spinnerbait heads and materials. I had a lot of fun with that. Excited to test how well the long arms come through wood.
  24. Sounds great to me! Give us a heads up if that happens!
