  1. Bitsy bugs/flips are some of the baddest jigs out there. Only thing I don't like about em is the keeper. When I was curious about learning to fish jigs years ago, I went to DSG and found those little bitsy bugs. Watched a youtube video on them in the store and saw that putting a baby rage craw on them was a pretty popular deal. Still one of the best combos out there in my opinion. I lost a really nice fish one day because I didn't really even know how to set drag on a fishing reel and I thought 8lb fishing line meant that I was good for fish up to 8lbs ?. So many good memories about learning to fish. I feel old
  2. Trout stocked here too. Lot more fishermen and fisherwomen for sure, but it ain't too bad around here. I've been tossing little shad raps in the evening and caught several small trout, but with those little shad raps... you never know what you might catch. Makes for really fun fishing actually, full of mystery. Quite convinced that some of the larger bass around here feed on the smaller trout 6-8".
  3. Don’t know about moss but oh heck yeah casting accuracy is important for me. On another thread I said that the less I retie, the better I do. Some of this has to do with the fact that I get into a rhythm with casting with a bait and the more I use it in a day or weekend, I can place it in increasingly tighter places. I’m not one of those anglers that can pick up another rod and bait and immediately cast directly on target. I don’t fish enough for that.
  4. ^8 the way that bald guy looked at the ball was a little freaky, man. ?. Another TOOL song. Go figure. I might throw in some Rammstein soon. If you want to cut to the chase, skip to 4:10. I don't recommend that though. It's a journey man.
  5. Ya'll have more of that rain on the way ?. Maybe the 15th? Sun peeks out a little after those warm rainy days
  6. What is special about this blank material?
  7. iRod Stone Cold Swim and Vibrating Jig Rod covers you for lipless, spinnerbaits, and chatterbaits, but I would not prefer it for jerkbaits or squarebills. Hard to find a rod that excels with all of these techniques, I think. Swim and Vibrating Jig Rod is my favorite rod I have. It's a beast. 7'2" medium heavy moderate fast. I think you will get different answers from different people on what rod to use for these techniques. Moderate fast is my preference for single hook moving baits and for lipless as of right now. This looks like same specifications as the rod i mentioned. Is that thing on sale right now? See it on their website. That could be a steal OP
  8. He is not happy with me right now. I appeased him by getting some cranks but he really wants me to get chatterbaits and it just ain't happening.
  9. I use that knot on occasion. Super strong. Seems to work well with all forms of line. Only disadvantage I've found is that with higher lb test the knot becomes bulky.
  10. The less I retie, the better I do. I feel like I know most of the time what the fish will bite before leaving. So, I try as hard as I can to convince myself that if I am not catching, it is not the bait. It is probably location or depth or both. Then, when my mind can't take it any longer and I'm convinced it's the bait, it might be time to change after all.
  11. That fish was sleeping with the bait monkey, no doubt. My condolences ?. Really cool story though!
  12. I’m not sure I even know the name. Think it is an old discontinued zoom craw worm. Received them as a gift from an older guy who I talk with a bunch while home. He loves that bait
  13. 1 half hitch on each side to secure the 20 wraps. The wraps should be secured tightly before putting in the half hitches. I watch salt strong’s video on how to tie the FG knot and that is all I had to do. They explain it very well
  14. I have a lot of practice with the FG knot and tie it within 30 seconds in my room. I can do it within about a minute sitting in the kayak. It is not a demanding knot, in my opinion. Thing is strong as heck and very small. That being said, someone recently shared the GT knot and that looks real good too.
  15. I'm gonna rant for a second about green pumpkin. It is bland! Where are the reds, the oranges, the greens, the blues, colors that bass so readily see? Green pumpkin is just a brownish green with boring black flake. It's like off brand cola versus authentic Coca-Cola. People so readily recommend green pumpkin for clear water. I think if I were a bass, I'd rather see green pumpkin in muddy water.... that way I couldn't see it as well. Rant over
  16. Yup. Bait monkey does not approve of this propaganda.
  17. Watermelon red versus everything
  18. Hey ya’ll This is a cool piece of plastic. New I think? It is already a best seller on Tackle Warehouse. Thoughts/experiences? @Catt would you eat it? Edit: Correction it is not new. Not sure how I missed this bait.
  19. What is that? Doesn't look like those zoom critter craws
  20. Is ripping a spoon out of grass productive like doing so with a lipless is? I got a Nichols flutter to try this season And another question. I hear a lot about flutter spoons in the summer. Is this to say they do not produce well at other times of the year? These are precious to me.
  21. My focus topwater for this season. It seems so unique in that you can work it in the strike zone for so long. I experimented with removing the front propellor and it barely moves forward when you do this and makes a nice “ploop”. I am going to get a hawg on that lure when it warms up around here and the big girls move shallow. It’s gonna happen
  22. I just saw your post on that fish. Oh my goodness!! You need to move that out of the Northeast Fishing Reports and into the general Fishing Reports section. That needs to be seen! That’s awesome, congrats
  23. I used to hear that many top level athletes use this technique, as well as others. I actually planned on doing more to improve my mental state for effectiveness, and this might be something beneficial to add as well. Thanks
