  1. It would be very hard to convince me to throw spinnerbaits or crankbaits on a 7 speed when I had a slower gear ratio available. I only like 7 speeds for bottom bouncing baits or baits where reeling in slack is important. And no faster than that so… 6 speed gets my vote
  2. Hey y’all, Got some heavy rain and possible thunderstorms I’m waiting to blow over. Chilling here at the boat ramp for now. We’ve had a good number of topics about spinnerbaits over the past few months. I’d like to start another. This time it’s about spinnerbait heads. The head of a spinnerbait, I’ve found, is a lot more important to me than I thought it would be. It influences how well the spinnerbait goes through types of cover and how well the spinnerbait tracks true at higher speeds. What is your ideal spinnerbait head shape? What’s worked best for you? I’m a fan of two. The classic bullet shape and the booyah covert head. What say you, and why do you like the one you do? edit: I was a dummy and put this in the fishing rods and reels section. Lol. My bad. Don’t think I can move it?
  3. I fished in these same conditions. We’re pretty close. No luck here either. That day was wild. Nothing was biting. 23mph wind in a kayak made for an adventure too.
  4. Don’t care how they look as long as it’s not some gaudy color.
  5. 15lb big game, MH mod fast, drag cranked to about 7lbs. Works for me.
  6. First fish of 2022 for me! I’ve been struggling my first two days back in NC, it’s nice sticking a hook in something! This one was the right kind too. 4.12 lbs on a buzzbait.
  7. Still waiting for left handed rods to drop.
  8. Spinnerbait man! I’m always bracing for the next bite! I might not catch em every time but I believe that on the next cast, I’m getting bit!
  9. Grass jigs and a little rage craw package from @Siebert Outdoors! Perfect and ready to fish out of the package, skirt already trimmed. Head design will work great for my intended purpose, just pulling through grass. Love em! I took some close-ups of my favorite color, california craw. Weird upload order of pictures but whatever. Thanks Mike!
  10. Wish it was more sunny but this looks excellent for melting some of the ice here. My season might in fact start continuously with no interruptions starting in a few days Southern NY That's just crazy, lol
  11. Thanks for sharing that. I’m a fan of gambler plastics
  12. I love the look of those slingblades, but dangit I don’t want a tied skirt on a spinnerbait. It’s the reason I haven’t gotten those. I wanna be able to put my own skirts on.
  13. That’s cute as heck. Maybe his wife’s pet name for him? There had to have been some bargaining going on there.
  14. Yeah I learned quick that fish catches without pictures don't mean jack to most fishermen I've encountered. Not as true for on this website, it seems. We generally respect each other regardless. I don't photo every fish I catch, but if I catch a nice one, of course I'm getting a picture. Because if someone asks me what I caught and I tell them I caught a nice one, it's pretty often they want to see a picture next. Because what are fishermen known for? Exaggerating! Bass pro welcomes all liars. Photos are an insurance policy for me.
  15. I'll shoot ya a DM
  16. I can't make it Friday . I was thinking of going to the classic back when I didn't know my full schedule for spring break. I'll be home in NC late Friday night, more like very early Saturday morning. It might be too quick of a turn-around for me. Even when I'm in NC, it's northern part of the state. How long will you be there?
  17. Now that sounds fun
  18. Maybe this has something to do with it? Edit: The hooks being in the gill plate I mean Calling on some edumuhcated members to satisfy my burning curiosity.
  19. stop scaring me man lol. I had a thread that asked questions about treble hooks and drag setting recently. I'll admit I thought you had these problems just because your drag was set too tight, but of course without being there and without a scale involved, I have no idea. Still so glad you landed that fish. Treble hooks give me anxiety.
  20. Hey ya'll, Classic right around the corner! Took a look at weather conditions in Greenville. It starts getting awfully warm starting tomorrow, into the 80s. Pretty stable warm weather after! Water levels around normal. I think this will set up nicely. Who's your favorite? Preview show said to watch out for Hackney and Christie with warm weather, and of course Hank. So many anglers I think could do well! I'll be trying to keep track of the classic while home after fishing and hope ya'll that are going have a wonderful time. Thoughts on the classic???
  21. Thanks for sharing! Listened all the way through. I like it! 9. Never heard Dream Theater before but that stuff is right up my alley. TOOL is growing on me ya'll
  22. That is seriously too cool. I should make some triple or quad blades sometime.
  23. did i miss a sale? Whats this one? Awesome stuff by the way!
