Kvd Squarebill Hooks
I don't exactly know that it's a matter of hooking up with big fish, but the QC of stock hooks could be not up to snuff with specialty hooks. Kinda like the "made for" shafts that come in golf clubs, they have the big name brand on them, but they are no where near as good as aftermarket. This is the reason that I swap out all of m y stock hooks to KVD hooks or the VMC barbarian heavy wire trebles.

"classic" From Lake To Weigh-In
I think waiving the penalty for dead fish at the weigh in is perfectly fine. Check the fish before they leave for the weigh in to make sure they are alive, if they have a dead one then penalize, if one dies in transport then no penalty. It's gonna be a tough long ride back, in my experience living in Tulsa for a couple of years you may travel 87 of the 90 mile trip in 1hr 20 minutes, but the last 3 miles when you hit Tulsa may take another hour. Plus lets not forget the sweet cold front that has hit us here. They will be being transported back in 8-10 inches of water at less than 45 degrees. Granted the cold should help slow the fishes body down a bit, but I'm sure the mortality rate will be more than fine. They are shooting for releasing 100% alive fish, that's all you can ask for.

Trokar Hooks
99% of the time Trokar is the only hook I use. That other 1% is when I use the Gammy skip gap hook, have not found a better soft jerkbait hook than that.

Bionic Baitcaster @bps Spring Sale
Wrong....Braid is great for topwater it actually floats unlike mono that most people seem to think does. I can see where stretch helps with topwater, but he will figure out to slow down a pinch before setting the hook.

"classic" From Lake To Weigh-In
I heard that at this classic there will be no penalty for dead fish due to the long drive to weigh in.

Red Lures In Spring
Honestly I'm not sure why people stop throwing red as the water gets warmer. Have you ever noticed what happens to a crawdad when you throw it in boiling water? When the water warms up they get redder. I would think red would be the best when the water gets to be the warmest. I know I do pretty well throwing the bomber coffin bills in red when the water is about 90.

Who's Coming To The Classic?

Major League Fishing 2013
Did you guys not notice how Shaw was explaining to the camera on the next episode of where he should get a bite and why the bite would happen? He does that all the time on his show too. Don't think it's out of line at all for Ish to state what is probably well known as fact. He also called him a poacher joking around because they both got to a run of docks at the same time, Knowing Kreit, that dude is real easy to get spun out and headed toward negativeville. Honestly don't know how he deals with the highs and lows from minute to minute. He's just a nervous kinda guy.

The Bps Spring Classic Flyer Has Arrived!
That is the only reason I will never own a Carrot stix or a Skeet rod. Who puts the hook holder there? Makes zero sense to me.

When Is Using Attractant, When Is Too Much Attractant??
When they start jumping in the boat as soon as you launch, but I think that's a good problem to have In all seriousness though, personally I think you add scent to baits that don't come with scent. But baits that come already scented are probably better left alone.

The Bps Spring Classic Flyer Has Arrived!
Was wondering the same thing because at the price in the flier you are getting either the rod or the reel for free. It must be a special kinda deal cuz they don't even make a Bionic spinning reel, but are offering one in a combo with the rod.

You mean Bomber? I didn't see Bagleys on sale.

The Bps Spring Classic Flyer Has Arrived!
I dunno about any of that grinding. That being said I bought it at last years Classic sale. It has been used a bunch, but not as much as some of my other gear. With BPS return policy I will probably pick up 2 more and if they start grinding just exchange them. They tend to take anything back no questions asked.

The Bps Spring Classic Flyer Has Arrived!
Going to pick up another BPS CarbonLite bait caster, I was thinking RevoS but the CarbonLite I have is sooooo light. And I have to bite on the bionic spinning combo, probably get 2 of them. (my spinning gear is minimal at best) And the Bomber deal on whatever day it is I will have to go twice! Can't get enough of those coffin bills, especially for $2 each.

Spiderwire Invisabraid?
If used in clear water it's very good. The white will get stained if used in dirty water. I was fishing it the other day in a pretty clear pond and once it gets under the water you have to look really hard to see it. My guess is that it has the same visibility in the water as mono. With the smaller diameters you get with braid I'd say it's a great clear water braid.

Pink ... I Mean Bubble Gum Soft Plastics
Fished a tournament where I was the only one catching them, after a few fish my partner finally manned up and asked me for some. Get to weight in and everyone think we tied them on to disguise what we were really catching them on. So shhhhh don't tell anyone

Keeping Bass
I know that I read something about fish not having pain receptors somewhere, it may have been in the mouth, but I'm not sure. Fish don't scream or make noise that I can hear, so anyway to get the sides off of them is humane to me.

Keeping Bass
Just nerves man and muscles moving around. Like cutting the head off of a chicken, it will still run around for a few minutes headless, but I'm sure it's dead. I wanna say that fish don't feel pain and I am pretty sure studies have been done to prove this, but in all honesty fish don't speak so who the hell knows. I personally manage a few small bodies of water and take every fish I catch under 16 inches out. Since I have started doing this the average size has gone up by almost a pound. As said before, ideally 15-20 lb of fish need to be removed per acre per year. The reason I take all the small fish from my waters is there are still too many fish in it and I only am able to get to the water 10-12 times a year.

Luck-E-Strike Stx Jerkbait
I love using them, I have not had any issues with split rings, but I don't try to horse fish on treble hooks. I have not had any suspending issues as Next KVD has, but I once had a hook break. Other than that I would fish them all day long. The Vision110 guys will come in here and say it's an inferior bait, but don't listen one bit.

Carolina Rig.....tell Me Everything
Was fishing at depths between 3 and 12. Usually no deeper than 9. The wind was howling 20-30 so I was using a 1 1/4 oz weight. Weight never left the bottom. The first thing I did when I got home was go buy regular off set hooks. Hopefully that will solve my issues. I will also try some scent next time when the bite seems to be quick.

1.5 Vs 2.5
Never had much luck with the 2.5, I think I've only caught a few fish on it. Possibly that is because I have not thrown it near as much as the 1.5, but when they are biting something why change? I typically use the Bomber coffin bills or Xcalibur fat free square bills, but they mainly fit the 1.5 size/frame.
