I live in northern crook county. Skokie lagoons, dpr and some lake county lakes is where I frequent the most with occasional kishwaukee trip in the mix. I almost never make it down your way, but someday I will.

You can put a very small piece of electrical tape when you start spooling with braid to prevent any future slippage.

Fished the goons on sunday. Pretty dead. Got 1 bite yoyoing black chatterbait in deepnwater, but no hook up and connected with 1 fishing dragging jig and craw over timber.

I try to use the best tool for the job and I let the fish tell me which tool I should use.

Pop Max. Bass tend to avoid me when I have one tied, but if I retie a plopper, walking bait or even other poppers they typically cooperate if they are eating of the top.

Hello from northern Illinois. I have been bass fishing for about 6 years. I fish mostly out of kayak for green bass, but I also do good amount of river/creek wading for smallies. I have been lurking here for a good while so now I am hoping to contribute the limited knowledge I have. Cheers
