  1. Scouting new spots holding more fish.
  2. It is the 611 m+ adrena. It was pretty fun, but this rod has deceivingly strong backbone and pike in my area usually play dead after first 10 seconds. That smallie above actually put up a better fight. I know most people tout this reel as bfs’ish, but I used it literally for everything throughout the season and it is a true work horse (the two I have are 6:1).
  3. Gomexus handle is great and the knobs are great too imo. Looks decent too, except for them orange washers. 95mm in the pic. And more
  4. I use mine for jerks as well, as mentioned above, loosen the drag and go easy on the cadance.
  5. Th stock spool holds plenty of line. I have one with 20lb and another with 40lb sufix 832. After entire spring and summer season of reties I have plenty left on both and never come close to getting spooled on the cast. I have not seen any deep spools on the market yet.
  6. Which 2020 enox and which scv st croix did you fish?
  7. I think it is important to mention which enox are you guys talking about (old gen vs 2020) because I heard their blanks are completely different animals. Meanwhile st croix legends blanks (besides new extremes) have not seen an update in years.
  8. Finesse topwater? megabass cicada lure is great, spook zara puppy, i also heard evergreen came up with size 75 shower blows (have yet to see it)
  9. I know you are asking for a spinning rod, but 611 M+ casting adrena is ideal for weigthless trig senkos. Otherwise, I would definitely go with the heavier spinning for trig.
  10. Walking baits work best for me, but I know a lot of people fishin same waters I do consistently catching them on buzzbaits. For me, evergreen showerblows 105 followed closely by plopper 75 take the top.
  11. Just one rod, small backpack with few bags of soft baits, 1 small box of hard baits. Type of rod and baits depends on whether it is pike or bass I am going after and on season (there are spots I wade even in the dead of winter).
  12. If I am casting for distance, I am picking up a different tool than a low profile reel. Sorry to party poop. Regarding tuning for distance- just cut the levelwind off ?
  13. I have one I use for ned and wacky and really like it. Really comfortable handle. It is very sensitive and has a very soft tip. In my opinion it bends a little bit deeper down the blank than a typical fast action. Really nice stick. I have stradic fl on it but this reel is a bit too heavy for it.
  14. Ned, wacky, or small keitech.
  15. This is the case for everything made overseas, not just fishing gear. I could not evem find flip flops at walmart.
  16. UV light exposure can cause oxidation of many polymeric materials, including resins and epoxy used for rod-building. Typically it takes a long while before it becomes noticeable, but it varies.
  17. It is also much easier when you set your spool tension pretty loose (i like all my reels regardless of brand with just a tiny bit of side to side play).
  18. I love my white trash skinny dippers and sweet beavers.
  19. I'll echo what others said: river and stream smallmouth fishing tends to be the best for me during late summer (mid july to very early septemeber), but I do target "deep" holes, which are around 4-7 ft in my spots.
  20. I had similar issue with them about a year ago (so no Covid excuse). I ordered a rod and only got the initial confirmation. Crickets for about 2 weeks so I emailed them few times with no response. I finally called them to find out that they completely ignored my order (essentially) and they will initiate the process right away. Week later, still crickets so I called again to find out that the rod I ordered was not in stock (yet it was listed in stock on the website). I asked for the order to be cancelled and waited a long while for the refund. Left me with a bad taste so I have not used their services since.
  21. I used to have a pair of those, but lost them few years back. Searched for them since but could not remember the name. Thanks!
  22. Sexy dawg is one hell of a walking bait for $10.
  23. I love jig fishing and do so sitting down in paddle yak with no issues. When I start twisting and face away from the cover, I grab a moving bait rod and give the bass in the heavy cover some break to recoup ? until I face the cover again. Jokes aside, single handed small paddle goes a long way.
