  1. The champs actually that much nicer. My Texas rig / jig rod is a champ 704. i wouldn’t put that money up for any moving baits or top water, but nearly all my fishing is on that rod.
  2. I honestly can’t come up with any reason to come off my daiwa Fuegos. Cheap(ish), fish great. I do have one tatula I actually dislike the t-wing on but the rest of my Arsenal is 8:3:1 Fuegos
  3. Big game mono with properly set drag shouldn’t break off on any hook set
  4. Spro Aruku Shad’s cast like a missile. I think any kind of lipless is dummy proof.
  5. Found out about a month ago Spike It’s head quarters and facilities is ten minutes from my house in a no traffic light town. No spike it markings, nothing. Crazy.
  6. Love it most days. 6.5 acres to cut and a 2 acre pond to weed eat. Round up is my friend around our pecan trees and grape vines.
  7. I’d go normal batteries and a fortrex. The lift assist is beyond worth every penny.
  8. I own both. The Champ 736 is truly an incredible rod. Easily casts the frog out and work it, but Is a boom stick setting the hook. 736 feels lighter as well.
  9. I’d go up to the Fortrex. Love mine.
  10. There’s only so much food in the lake. Less competition makes bigger bass. (To an extent of course, you can over harvest small ponds and stuff)
  11. if we ate more 1-2 lb bass, we’d have more 5-6 lbers.
  12. Release in grease… … at least slot size. Big enough to filet but bigger than 2 lbs I try not to keep.
  13. Weight is definitely a concern. Really just want something as simple as I can get and still enjoy it. I don’t think I’ll even put a fish finder on it
  14. I fished out of a 1448 jon boat with no issues and then switched to a tracker 175 with no issues. if you never had bigger you won’t know what you’re missing. Kind of like a car, you don’t normally go smaller once you’ve had bigger. if it’s your first boat you won’t have it forever anyways, if it’s solid go for it
  15. Probably why I suck off shore. I learn something new on this forum everyday.
  16. They make good boats. You may find 16’ to be a bit small though
  17. I’ve always thought the big lumps were rocks. Oops. ?
  18. I’m leaning towards a sportsman 106 without the pedal. The main place I’m wanting to fish it gets so weed infested the pedal drive would get locked up and it’s really not very big of a place. 80 acres or so
  19. I’m 5’8” 190. I’d be surprised if the 10’ would cramp me anymore than a bigger one.
  20. Even when I’m in my bass boat I have those same 3 rods in my hand 95% of it. Is the difference in length just a storage issue out there a tangible difference in performance? If I can bring a few rods, a speed bag of plastics and terminal stuff, and be able to stand it wouldn’t be too far off from my normal rig.
  21. Any thoughts on 10 foot vs 12? i don’t plan on bringing my whole arsenal out with me. Maybe 2-3 rods and a couple bags of plastics.
  22. Eh long story short we stole the Skeeter for 3k and selling my old tracker for more than double. I’m not trying to spend a fortune but want to buy my last one first if that makes sense
  23. What y’all think of the 10 footer vs the 12? How would that impact the kayak on the water?
  24. I know you kayak fish quite a bit. Do you ever standup? old town 120pdl is really the only one I’m considering new, they’re just not available much used.
