His gun was fake/Homeowners wasn't..
Not to get political or anything, but why exactly does he deserve a medal? He killed an unarmed man. Sure, the other man was robbing him and the man had the right to defend himself, but he still killed someone. No, he killed an armed man. Homeowner had no way of knowing the gun was fake and I believe the law recognizes that. That's why they put the orange markings on toy guns, to distinguish them from real guns. When the criminal altered the gun, he changed the status from fake to real.

Summer Fishing Hiatus -- who takes them?
I haven't caught enough this year to take a hiatus from. Fishing has been lousy for me, but with every cast, there's new hope! ;D

Heatwave!
Send a little of it this way. We're only in the low 80's and the 60's at night. I just read today there were 3,000 record lows set so far in July.

Spark plug unhanging method?
No matter what you use, when fishing from shore, any retrieval is difficult. I have had the most success with snapping the line like a bow. Frequently pops the jig loose.

How do you store your spinnerbaits?
This is what I'm using right now. I had a Falcon spinnerbait wallet thatwas nice and compact but it was too crowded and the skirts were always catching on each other.

Move to Colorado?
I lived in Greeley for 3 years. It was a nice place, 30+ years ago anyway. Don't know about now. There is lots to do in the mountains. I was never into skiing but ghost towns were a lot of fun. Some very interesting old towns in some very remote places. Weather was changeable. We used to say if you didn't like the weather, wait 5 minutes. Had a guy threaten to kill me once, but that's another story.

Conspiricy II
If that were the case, I think the police would probably know about it. the city garage is just about across the street. I think he's just a nut!

Conspiricy II
Hey, there's a house up the street from me about a mile that's covered in aluminum foil. Windows, doors, and lots of the house. I'm not kidding! What scares me is, does this guy know something I don't? :-X ;D

Johnson Silver Minnow
I have several of these silver minnows and was casting them today with a white 4' curly tail grub attached as a trailer. The look and action in the water is just incredible. Looks all the world like a minnow swimming in the water. Didn't catch anything with them today, though, which brings me to my point. For a lure as old as the Johnson silver minnow, the hooks on these things, out of the box, are incredibly dull. Butterknife dull. I'm not sure I'd even get a good hookup if there was a substantial amount of line out. Anyway, I've tried sharpening, but it is difficult because of the way the hooks are soldered to the spoon. Any suggestions? Of course one suggestion is buy something else, so 2nd question is, does anyone know of any spoons like the silver minnow but with better hooks. I know there are lots of jigging spoons but I'm looking for one that has the hook soldered to it.

need opinions on power tools
I bought my Dewalt tools about 10 years ago. Is that what you consider that used to be great? Never had a bit of trouble with them. I've got a Dewalt miter saw that cut more dang treated wood than I care to remember.

If you had to pick one Pike bait...
Black buzzbait. My PB came back after it 4 times before he decided to really hit it and run. I have also read where a red and white lure is the best color for pike, ie: dardevle

Get a DeWalt DW257 deck and drywall screwgun. I know it's corded but it's under $100 and you won't regret it. Excellent for driving hundreds of deck screws.
