Since the minister's wife is somewhat old fashioned, and a little prudish, he thinks it best if he not reveal his lecture topic to her. After the evenings lecture the minister arrives home and his wife asks him, "How did your lecture go?" "Fine, fine" he replied. "What did you speak about, dear?" his wife asks. Thinking quickly, the minster replies," "Boating and sailing". "That's nice" she says, thinking no more about it. Several days later the minister's wife runs into one of the couples who attended the lecture. They rave about how much they enjoyed the talk and how informative it was. Puzzled, the wife walks away and sometime later meets yet another couple from the lecture. They, too, express how much they enjoyed her husband's talk and how they were looking forward to practicing some of his suggestions. Finally, after hearing all of this praise, the minister's wife says, " I just can't understand how he got to be such an authority on the subject. After all, he only tried it twice. The first time it made him sick and the second time his hat blew off."

I would bet dollars to donuts its the capacitor. Had the exact same thing happen to me last year but on my air conditioner, not heat pump. Fan would run but no cool air, only warm. Compressor wouldn't kick on. Checked the capacitor and the terminals had burned off. New one= working fine. Easy to fix, but don't forget to pull the disconnect out first!

Threw one last night for a while on a 2/0 hook, t-rigged, but no success. Last night they wanted a curly tale grub.

Firetiger is probably my most productive color in a spinner. In fact, I caught a bass last evening at our local pond, with a Joe's Flies firetiger.

Glad to hear you are ok. I've been there and done that. Although I didn't have someone cut me off like you did, I was riding a bike that developed a speed wobble. Laid it down in the median of an interstate at about 55 mph. I thank God I was wearing a helmet or I wouldn't be here typing this. I only spent 2 days in the hospital, with surprisingly light injuries but I found out even those can remanifest themselves many years later. Hope you make a full recovery.

Welcome aboard! I haven't fished tubes a lot but I don't think there is a wrong way to fish a tube. You can use a lead jig tube insert and drag it on the bottom, resembling a crawfish. I've put very small tubes on jigs under bobbers for crappie. Texas rig it and swim it along. Lots of possibilities.

Yep, don't take anything you're not willing to or can't afford to lose. The river I fish has so many snags in it sometimes I think it's not worth the effort. I fish mostly jigs with grubs, sluggos, plastic worms and such. For the northerns, when it warms up, buzzbaits work great and they rarely snag.

Looks like it might work good from a boat, especially around walls and docks. Maybe around riprap but I'm not sure it would do well from the bank. Lots of guys run cranks into structure, etc. to trigger strikes, so the theory makes sense.
