I did today and regretted it. first it did nothing to mitigate the situation. second, it was a waste of time. I rarely use it..almost never in anger or aggravation. just not worth even wasting any emotional energy to most situations. a few hours later, I am not even remembering the details. so why waste juice on it then? i dont need it right away. i can do some rod/reel musical chairs and fish away happily. i have a rod. Levante Perfect Pitch. i want a pitching setup. big jigs and tex-rig worms in close quarters, with submerged weeds and trees. i think the setup would need to do some double duty. maybe swimbaits like MagDrafts or spark shads. even used to toss an umbrella rig on occasion this winter. i thought the LEWS SP pro would work, but i think i do need more line capacity for the swimbaits and such. enter the Daiwa Tatula PF. neat feature where i can thumb up the spool button if a fish grabs hold right away. anyone have this reel and love or hate it? i would also love to learn to skip with this. thinking 17lb flourcarbon to start. maybe braid on the light side? 30lb braid? dunno. if i have a fishing weakness, it is putting together good combos. i suck at it. my friend recently got so tired of watching me fish a frog with such the wrong combo, he put extra gear together and gave me a frog setup. (dont tell him, but i am punching with it. hahah)

welcome. which kayak? i learned the kayak seems to impart a lot of action on some lure. i cast out, and let the kayak move the bait sometimes. all i do is sit there and look handsome. i might add a twitch here or there. try to take some advantage to how easily a kayak is pushed about by currents and wind. you cannot fight it without a stakeout pole or anchor.

i seemed to have come off the rails this year. i need to fall back and fish the way i know, and not fish the way my friends know. stupid neko rig.
