Loch-ness Or Alligator Gar?
Grass Carp eating: Apparently they eat 20%-100% of there body weigh in plants every day as long as the water is 50*+. They won't eat green algae(snot grass) because they can't break it off to "chew" it.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I know I can find everything I need at BPS/Cabelas, and I don't have to hunt around for it. I live so close to Cabelas it just makes sense to go there. I don't do a lot of online shopping either. Also, got my first JackHammer, in green pumpkin shad!!! Shipped from amazon but the package was from discount tackle.

I can't believe how expensive fishing stuff is, $38 dollars for 5 things. My mom was shopping with me, so I didn't spend as much as I usually would... She saved me from that stinkin monkey.

Berkley Fusion 19 Weedless Wide gap is a great wacky hook, they are also pretty strong hooks, and they have a weed guard. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Berkley_Fusion19_Hooks_Weedless_Wide_Gap/descpage-SFWW.html

Loch-ness Or Alligator Gar?
100% baby Loch Ness Monster. Momma Loch Ness spawns in ponds and lakes, and leaves her babies in the ponds to fend for themselves, once they get big enough. She must have left or you'd have been dead meat, she is very protective of her babies before she leaves. You're lucky your still alive!

Dogwood Tree Watch
Dogwoods are blooming in KC. Drove around the city and trees with white flowers were blooming, think they're dogwoods anyway. ?♂️

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
@Fir3hawkThere is a path down to the cove full of standing timber, go down there and you should catch a few on a jerkbait, the water temp back in that cove is higher then the rest of the lake. It is pretty shallow so watch out that you don't snag. Find some deeper water and you might catch a couple as well. Mix up how hard/soft you twitch, how long you pause, etc, until you find something the fish like.

Post a photo a day!
@Ski is there a day that goes by that you don't catch a 5+ pounder?!? Or do you just post a picture of the same fish from multiple angles??

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Went out to Douglas today with a buddy. We caught about 13 fish, he caught ten and I caught 3. Water temps reached 55 in the back of a cove. One on a spinnerbait and all the rest on jerkbaits. Biggest was 2.5-3 on the spinnerbait. Gonna blame the lack of fish on my part on being in the back of the boat lol. I saw a 6th sense provoke jerkbait in the snagged water, and got it out. Must've recently been snagged, no rust or anything. New jerkbait to add to the collection!

Fish coming off on Chatterbait?
When I set the hook on a chatterbait I do it just like a jig, reel the slack tight, swing hard and maintain constant pressure. Usually this won't lose fish, but sometimes when they jump and get slack. I've noticed I typically won't lose chatterbait or swim jig fish unless they jump. For a long time I just threw a chatterbait on straight 15 mono, since it was the only baitcaster I had(MH rod 6.8:1 reel). It got the job done, but setting the hook was a struggle from long distances but even then they would usually stay hooked.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I have a mama size, and I had to put a swivel(without the snap) to a split ring on the line tie, so that thing wouldn't twist up my line really bad when I throw it. I lost a spool of braid to one of the those, the line twisted so bad from throwing it, that the braid would hardly cast. But my plopper could have just been a bad one. ?♂️ That kayak sonar thing is awesome! The yak is looking ???
