A little help, please.
I'll put a small bullet weight on, 1/16 or 1/8, and cast and burn, cast and bump, jerk, pause, what ever gets hit. That set up is great for covering all your water depth. Also, do you fly fish? That opens up a whole new range of things to try.

A little help, please.
Have you tried a weedless rigged swimming worm? The missus loves swim Senkos and recently I've been doing well with Strike Kings Cut R worms. Speed them up or slow them down, the tail moves with good activity.

I should slow down.
I try to let the fish tell me what they want. When I fish an area I'll try a mix of retrieves and see what gets hit. I have to admit though sometimes being out in this great state of ours is so nice I'll just make a cast and let it sit as I look around.

Bass "reloading"?
I've been fishing some waters all my life and for the most part not much changed. Then hit Covid and our Governor encouraged everyone to get outside and go fishing. Remember the license free fishing she offered for a while. Couple that with working from home and the lake population in Southern Maine has exploded. I can't tell you how many seasonal camps I've seen torn down and replaced with million dollar plus ( very plus) McMansions going up, not to mention empty shoreline being bought up and built on. If you ever get down this way I'd be happy to take you around a couple of lakes so you could see for yourself. It's not pretty.

Bass "reloading"?
We had an area that " reloaded", a stretch of undeveloped shoreline, with low overhanging bushes. If you could snake a t rigged Senko under the bushes tight to shore on a summer afternoon you were guaranteed a bass. We would catch a dozen or more in a hundred yards. Come back the next day and do it again. Unfortunately that shore line is now covered in new houses.

Window Weights for anchor?
I used them for years on my canoe. One or two on a lake and added a couple more when on a river.

AI and Bass Fishing
Lets not stray too far from the basic idea that for most, if not all of us, fishing is supposed to be fun. At least that's why I do it. That being said, whatever you use in pursuit of the wiley aquatic prey ( so long as it's legal) is your choice. I personally don't agree with all the tech out there, but each to his own. I grew up before computers and all that comes with it. ( The missus and I still don't own, or use a smart phone) but with out a computer you wouldn't be reading this.

Fishing critic
I don't think it would be possible to exist in this world and not be responsible for altering it somehow. Have the people who thinking fishing is cruel never slapped a mosquito, killed an ant, swatted a fly. The best we can do when fishing is accept that despite our best efforts every so often a fish will die. At that point some turtle will have a good feast.

How did you get into Bass fishing?
I've fished as long as I can remember. My folks had a camp on a lake when I was a kid. That's where I learned to fish. The camp is long gone ( sold when I was a teenager) but the missus and I still fish the same lake. Here I am up at camp with Dad around 1955 with a " toy " fishing rod. same camp a few years later. At the same lake last week.

the ocean perspective.
I grew up on the N.H. coast. We fished the salt as much as fresh water. I only gave up fishing the salt after a back injury. IMHO there's something about the ocean that made me feel more alive than fresh water ever did. Here's one of me back in the day.

Casting with your off hand
I fish right or left handed. I've always been somewhat ambidextrous.

Dinner Meat preference
I'll take sea food over meat any day of the week. Lobster, clams, scallops, oysters. Runner up would be fresh caught wild trout or salmon.

Tricksy Spots
Add me to the list of too old to reach places I used to fish. Back in the day I was always headed up north somewhere. Had a Toyota four by with a cap. Had the canoe on top, fishing gear and a sleeping bag in the back. See a speck of blue on the map and head for it. See ya in a few days. Amazing times.

Fishing Lines
I stocked up on it before they discontinued it. I've probably got enough for two life times.

Onboard charger replacement recommendations ?
Hi all, My current onboard charger is a Promariner and it's gotten so Quirky I don't really trust it and want to replace it. So I'm looking for advise on what you all are using and trust. The batteries I need to charge are two lead acid deep cycle marine batteries. Thanks

Fishing Lines
I'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to fishing. I have five setups, all spinning, all spooled with Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultrasoft line 6# test. This is all I used for the last twenty years. Works for me.

Top water fact or myth.
I think color is the least critical aspect of lures. Size, shape, action, and presentation are more the deciding factor, IMHO. I mean if bass were smart enough to not strike a lure because the color was off then they would certainly be smart enough not to strike anything that had sharp hooks hanging off of it.

Where are you buying tungsten weighted hooks?
That sounds good, thanks

Where are you buying tungsten weighted hooks?
As I said in my post, I just ordered a selection of tungsten ned and shaky head hooks from you. Do you carry tungsten weighted swimbait and tube hooks I missed?

Where are you buying tungsten weighted hooks?
Hi all, My home state ( Maine) has tightened their lead ban starting Sept of 2026. Up until then we can use painted lead hooks/weights, but after , not so much. I made inquiries at my local sporting goods store ( KTP) and was told that they are trying to find a good source of non lead tackle, but as of now, no joy. I know I'm jumping the gun a bit but I'm trying to be proactive. I already have tungsten bullet weights and just ordered some tungsten ned rig and shaky head tackle from Sieberts outdoors. I'm still trying to find tungsten weighted swimbait and tube hooks that won't break the bank. Can anyone steer me towards the best place to look for these types of hooks? I'd appreciate it. And just as an FYI: Per the KTP fishing Dept. spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and jigs are exempt from the upcoming ban. At some point I will be verifying that with Maine fish & game. Thanks.

This drives me crazy.
Try looking at house paint colors. Can someone tell me what moth wing gray is or repose gray is, not to mention perfect greige. These are real colors by the way.
