  1. Does anyone know what the gears are made of in the Steez A 100? Aluminum or brass? I couldn't tell from the link below. https://daiwa.us/products/steez-a-100

Yes, I do manually close the bail for the exact reason you describe. Never thought of anything like this, I give it a try, thx.

The Mepps #3 is awesome, I have been doing really well with the Blue fox Vibrax #4 this year, but the line twist has been crazy. I will give the Sampo size #1 a try and see if it helps.

I see, I'll pick up some of the Sampo size 1 ball bearing swivels and give them a try. Thx.

I use these the swivels below, not sure if they have a ball bearing. https://www.spro.com/products/power-swivel?srsltid=AfmBOop9YjYIp2fuFbzVEGXlqrrI5El1G1mul8iyDYsTLIXw8uNb410H

The swivel is about 3 inches from the inline spinner. Ill check out the scientific angler swivels, thanks.

I've been using the tiny spro swivels for when I throw a inline spinner, but I'm still getting a decent amount of line twist. What brand swivels do you use to reduce line twist?
  8. Been very happy with the Cuda scissors,I get them at walmart for something around $5, sometimes even less.
  9. Daiwa Laguna Spinning Reels 50% off, not sure how long this sale lasts. https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/daiwa-laguna-lt-spin-reel-21daiulgnlt1000spree/21daiulgnlt1000spree?sku=22781736&camp=CSE:DSG_2299943029666_pla_aud-475428188769:pla-2299943029666_163257698073_21251282861&segment=&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21251282861&gbraid=0AAAAADv4bTbGZU9Y8NQZE4nlpv4qnDWBY&gclid=CjwKCAjwgO7RBhBKEiwAZNP85jqvT38zO87AQFJH5qpNs__OqsJKci5UlwnhV8v5_UK6fLK329PNqxoCG7AQAvD_BwE
  10. IMO these 3 reels are great for all day cranking , (the Steez is 5:3:1) finding them new may prove difficult, but used ones occasionally pop up on the internet. Shimano Curado K 200/201 PG(5:0:1) Daiwa Catalina (4:9:1) Diawa Steez A Crazy Cranker
  11. Anyone use these for cranking, I do not like anything with glass, I'm thinking about the 7'10 M Full Grip for small profile deep divers. If you have fished it,do you recommend it, or should I look elsewhere for a non glass cranking rod? https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Okuma_Guide_Select_Crankbait_Full_Grip_Casting_Rods/descpage-OGFGCB.html
  12. Storm Arashi 10, it has the weight transfer set up giving it more distance on the cast.
  13. I was a Suffix 832 diehard, but I've been very impressed with Berkley X9, I don't think I'm going back to 832.
  14. If you can find them , the Storm Arashi 10 casts well and has a tight wobble that works well for coming through submerged brush.
  15. Mine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, I hope it doesn't arrive broken.
  16. I never threw a 3/8 on it but the tip is pretty soft for an XH, I think 3/8 won't be an issue.
  17. I love my Expride 7'3 XH, the Dobyns Champion Extreme 746 is a winner as well IMO.
  18. Duel Hardcore Crankbait 3+ and 4+ are some of my favorites, Yozuri makes a similar crank, the 3DB Series Deep Crankbait, but it doesn't have the weight transfer system that duel hardcore does. The Norman NXS is a winner, definitely one to consider if you have not already. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Yo-Zuri_3DB_Series_Deep_Crankbait/descpage-YZ3C.html https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/search-tackle.html?start=0&count=20&searchtext=norman+NXS
  19. Stop by Ollies and picked up a few a $4. Thanks
  20. I really like my 7ft ML Spinning X Series Bass rods for sensitivity and weight, I am eager to see how these feel in terms of sensitivity and actions, has anyone gotten their hands on one yet? https://okumafishingusa.com/collections/rods/products/tournament-concept-bass-rods_b-series?_pos=1&_sid=c124681a6&_ss=r&utm_source=Klaviyo&utm_medium=email&_kx=apak-X843oLKh6LKSodFxbdWf2LofqCkgtEpOKco260.U54RYw
  21. That makes a lot of sense. You said it well, "the better a spinnerbait works, the shorter its lifespan." In my experience, the original Terminator T1 Spinnerbait spinnerbaits held up remarkably well and could handle plenty of fish before their performance started to decline. I was hoping there might be a worthy replacement that matched their effectiveness, but it doesn't seem like there's a clear answer. I'm going to let the Monkey order several of the spinnerbaits mentioned in this thread and put them through their paces to see which ones perform best. Thanks to everyone for the feedback and suggestions. I appreciate the help.
  22. I am willing to spend money on quality spinnerbaits but I dont want a spinnerbait where after one fish it is toast. Which spinnerbait brands have you found to be the most successful at getting bites?
  23. I finally broke my last Terminator T1 titanium spinnerbait, and when I went to order replacements, I realized they no longer make the T1 titanium series. For those of you who have switched to other options, which spinnerbaits have held up well and maintained their alignment after repeated catches?
  24. Copperstate tackle 20% Memorial Day sale is on.
  25. I wasn’t previously aware that Daiwa produced a Zillion HD, after receiving it a few days ago, I’ve been very impressed. The brass gearing should handle weights from 1–2 oz with ease, and the ergonomics are outstanding—the reel feels exceptionally comfortable in hand. Thanks!
