  1. I use the 3600 size as an open compartment box for packs of 4-7inch straight tail worms. I really like the quality and build, I highly recommend them.
  2. The cork on my Victory is not the greatest either. I would fill it with wood glue and seal with u40.
  3. Most of my reels are Shimano, but I have added a few Lews to my line up, they have been impressive to say the least. Speedy recovery dodge, hopefully you will be able to crank out some jumbo largemouth out of Titicus with the new reel soon.
  4. BPS has a clearance event until 1/5/22. Lower gear ratio lefty casting reels can be hard to find at a decent price. If you are looking for a 5:6:1(23 IPT) lefty cranking reel, the Pro Qualifier 2 at $79.99 is a good reel at that price.
  5. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays! Wishing everyone at BR a healthy new year with lots of good fishing.
  6. Take a look at the Dobyns Fury 661 or 662, both great rods for what you're describing and TW has them at a great price right now.
  7. I use the Dobyns Champion Extreme 742 for 3/8oz - 5/8oz blades, I find it to be an excellent rod for those light hops and semi yoyo presentations that are essential for blade baiting.
  8. I use the 71 mgl for big jerkbaits , I absolutely love it, you won't have any problems.
  9. I love the Champion CB graphite rods for crankbaits, they are light, sensitive and have just the right amount of give to keep fish from getting unbuttoned. My 2 favorites are the 764cb and 805cb.
  10. I picked these up a few years ago, I've been very happy with them. https://www.amazon.com/Cuda-18113-Long-Needlenose-Plier/dp/B01LRYEPNU/ref=asc_df_B01LRYEPNU/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=311998322334&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5072296150680824421&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004385&hvtargid=pla-558830405915&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=62421706072&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=311998322334&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5072296150680824421&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004385&hvtargid=pla-558830405915
  11. I ordered the reel on 11/27, FedEx says its arriving tomorrow.
  12. They should be having the 25 days before Christmas sale starting tomorrow, they usually do Memorial day, July 4th and Labor day as well, but covid has caused TW to cancel some of those, hopefully if things continue to get better those sales will return.
  13. Does anyone know if this reel has brass gears? I can't find any info on the BPS site in regards to gears.
  14. So the rod arrived today, here is the tube it arrived in but miraculously the rod seems to be fine, Midway has used USPS to ship me rods and every time the tube comes broken in the middle, this was the first time the rod survived. Midway definitely has some good sales and super fast shipping, I seem to have bad luck with the delivery process.
  15. Great reel, well built, super smooth, excels at throwing heavier baits down to a 1/4oz with no issues, if you're going under a 1/4oz ,it may not be the best fit.
  16. The Tatula 7'1 ML is a great rod, uglyascheck is spot on in his assessment of the rod.
  17. I think its a Shimano Stradic. As far as spinning rods go, I have a Major Craft MS 1 Spinning rod 7ft M that has outstanding sensitivity and very comfortable grip, it retails for $169.
  18. I picked up the Veracity spinning 7ft ML from this sale. Every rod I ever ordered from Midway has arrived broken, I'm hoping that streak ends.
  19. Thank you! SLP will be the way to go. Thank you for the information.
  20. Hi Everyone, I'm looking for feedback/ input about the size of Lews casting reels. I have a Tournament MB and find it very comfortable to palm/grip while fishing, I am looking to add one or two more reels to my line up given the holiday sales coming up. I have a Curado 51e and a curado 71 k mgl(both great reels for palm/grip comfort). I would like to expand into the Lews line up but I don't have anywhere near me that has a wide variety to actually hold in my hand. I am considering the Lew's Tournament Pro LFS Casting Reel, Lew's BB1 Pro Speed Spool Casting Reel and the Lew's Custom SLP Casting Reel. Which is the smallest most comfortable to palm/grip? Or is there one Lews offers that is even smaller? Any info or feedback/advice is appreciated.
  21. Thank you for the info, it is appreciated.
  22. Does anyone have any experience with these rods, I wanted to pick up a 7'2 ML spinning but Phenix only makes them in 7'2 light and 7'2 medium , I'm looking to use the rod for finesse spinning , shaky heads ,neko ,wacky and ned, I don't see myself going past 3/8oz , so I'm thinking the 7'2 light, but I'm fearful it will not have enough backbone for bass in the 3-5lb range. The 7'2 medium is rated up to 3/4oz , so I'm concerned its too much rod for finesse. Any info or feedback is appreciated. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Phenix_M1_Spinning_Rods/descpage-PMMS.html https://phenixrods.com/product/m1-spinning/
  23. Thank you for the response, greatly appreciated.
  24. I have a Lews Tournament MP TS1HMPL(6:8:1) Left hand retrieve, Lews makes the Tournament MP TS1SMP(5:6:1)Right hand retrieve. Would the gears from the TS1SMP(5:6:1) right hand reel fit in the TS1HMPL(6:8:1) left hand reel? Lews does not make the 5:6:1 in lefty, so I was wondering if a gear swap is possible. Any info/advice is appreciated. Model Retrieve Gear Ratio Weight Bearings Line Cap. (Test/Yd.) Stock Price Qty TS1HMPL Left 6.8:1 6.9 9BB + 1RB 12/120 TS1HMP Right 6.8:1 6.9 9BB + 1RB 12/120 TS1SHMPL Left 7.5:1 6.9 9BB + 1RB 12/120 TS1SHMP Right 7.5:1 6.9 9BB + 1RB 12/120 TS1SMP Right 5.6:1 7.0 9BB + 1RB 12/140
  25. The Curado 70 K MGL is capable of doing almost everything, throwing really light stuff may be its only weakness, it is very comfortable in regards to hand/palm positioning for all day fishing. Take a look at the JDM Shimano Scorpion 70 as well , that's another reel that can do almost everything and also very comfortable to palm all day. If your willing to pay a premium , I think the 20 Metanium is super comfortable to palm as well.
