Loomis EDGE Rods
I never had a custom rod built before, there is a tackle shop that I have used for guide repair, I am pretty sure he does custom rods. I am going to inquire about the process. Thanks.

Loomis EDGE Rods
Hi Everyone, I am considering ordering a rod from Loomis Edge, I'm thinking about the First Strike or Black Widow. Does anyone own any or have any experience's with these rods. I am considering a crankbait rod, the FSC CBG 7104-1. Being these are Gary Loomis rods , I am assuming they are top notch, but I would love to get some feedback before pulling the trigger on one.

The Blade Bait Parade ~
Blade baits work all year round on the bodies of water I fish in NY, but they excel when it starts getting cold or during soft water winters.

Braid On Everything?
I like braid to leader for most applications. When it comes to deep cranking, the entire spool has 10 or 12 lb Abraz X .

Ordered a Psycho Stick
The monkey had me order the 7'2 ML spinning from tackle warehouse because it was $150 as well. I told him we don't need anymore ML spinning rods, he wasn't having any of it. Myself and the monkey are eager to hear what others have to say about the pyscho stick as well. As soon as he gets his hands on it, I'll report his first impressions.

What's the one rod you would buy again without question if you broke it?
Daiwa Rebellion 7ft ML spinning, absolutely amazing finesse/neko rod. As a matter a fact I have one in my daily rotation and 2 in storage ,just in case. I have far more expensive spinning rods, yet I gravitate towards this rod constantly.

Shimano SLX question
Is the SLX XT 151 and the SLX MGL 71 the same size body frame? Or is the SLX MGL 71 smaller. I know the spool size is smaller on the 71 vs the 151. I'm looking to find out which one would be more comfortable to grip while fishing or are they the same.

Mini-Max Chatterbait Trailer?
Berkley used to make 3.5 single tail bearded grub that really beefed up the skirt profile and provided good tail action on the mini max. They aren't so easy to find anymore, but if you come across them, they are worth a try.

Shimano Spool Question
This is the Engetsu with the giant lever https://fish.shimano.com/ja-JP/product/reel/ryojikuoffshorefunesmall/a075f00003vfijmqax.html The reel I am interested in is the Engetsu BB https://fish.shimano.com/ja-JP/product/reel/ryojikuoffshorefunesmall/a075f00003iml81qag.html I believe these are 2 different reels, but I don't know what type of braking sysyetm it has, so between the spool replacement and possible side plate replacement, this may not be worth the effort. I am always on the lookout for a unicorn small, comfortable low gear ratio lefty casting reel, I recently picked up the Steez A cray cranker in lefty, I'm thinking that may be what i'm looking for.

Daiwa Steez A Reel Question
The Steez A crazy cranker arrived yesterday, if you're looking for a low gear ratio cranking lefty that's comfortable to palm, this is it. I'm super impressed with casting distance, it's super smooth ,has a great drag, the only modification I am going to make is adding a 100mm handle.

Shimano Spool Question
I think you're right about the brakes, I totally didn't realize that. The previous version had svs, this one has no mention of the braking system. This might not be worth the trouble. Thanks for pointing that out.

Shimano Spool Question
I am considering picking up the new jdm engetsu bb 101 pg. The only issue I'm having is the stock spool is super shallow, I have a 16 engetsu that came with a super shallow spool as well, but the 71 curado spool fit into it just fine, so that was the fix. I can't seem to tell what if any would be the equivalent frame reel in the U.S. market, by looking at the pictures I'm thinking maybe the curado 151, but i'm not sure. I pasted the link to the reel below. If anyone knows of a deeper spool that would fit, or can tell what is the usdm equivalent that I could just buy the spool from Shimano, please chime in. Thanks in advance. https://fish.shimano.com/ja-JP/product/reel/ryojikuoffshorefunesmall/a075f00003iml81qag.html

Dark sleeper vs Agent E
I've tried both, I've caught fish with both, the weed guard on the agent e seems to lower my hook up ratio, I get strikes with the agent e but they don't fully connect as much as the dark sleeper from my experiences. I got rid of the weed guard on the agent e, hook percentage got better, but also got stuck alot more. Overall, I feel the dark sleeper is the better choice.

X 9 Crystal,832 Ghost or Something Else?
I've had it with the bleeding lines, I was cranking with the Diawa J Braid Grand 30lb and my hands as well as my white Chronach 201 E5 have green stains all over them. I really like the line, but I can't deal with bleeding anymore. I had some Sufix 832 in ghost a few years back, I don't recall any issues with it. I am also interested the Berkley X 9 crystal. Can anyone share their experiences with the Berkley X 9, positives and or negatives. I believe the 832 is a safe bet, but I would be open to trying the X9 crystal or another 8 strand or greater white braid that comes in bulk spools. Any feedback is appreciated.

Which high-end drop shot combo?
I got mine 15% during a TW sale, after using it for a little while I sold my Megabass Landsat. I was a little worried about the guides being fragile, but so far, so good. I'm very happy with it for finesse presentations, sensitivity is excellent and I find the grip to be very comfortable.

Which high-end drop shot combo?
You may want to consider the Steez AGS finesse game special, I have it paired with an Exsence 3000MHG, I am very happy with it.

Six Gill Reels
Thanks for the info, I'm not the biggest fan of Abu, I had the gen 3 winch and had to get the bearings replaced within 2 months of use,but that was like 5 years ago. From my recollection the reel was also a bit wide for my hand grip. On the TW I Cast videos, Mike Iconelli was talking about a new winch that looks the be a smaller frame, I definitely want to check that one out. If TW drops the revo X price a little more I may just pick one up because lower gear ratio leftys are hard to come by. Thanks.

Six Gill Reels
I thought the same thing when I saw the price, and looking at the pictures of it , it reminds me of a Quantam frame reel. I am interested to see what the discount will be black Friday or cyber Monday. The only reason I'm interested is the 5:5:1 left, the lower gear ratio leftys are hard to come by.
