  1. I currently use the new Zodias spinning 7ft ML and the Diawa Tatula 7'1 ML spinning for bottom contact presentations such as shaky heads, neko rigs and weightless flukes/wacky rigs. I find that the Zodias has greater sensitivity between the two and I am always on the lookout for increased sensitivity for bottom contact spinning presentations. I am looking for anyone who has fished with the new Poison Adrena spinning 7" medium action, what are your thoughts in regards to sensitivity for bottom contact spinning presentations? What are your likes and or dislikes? Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  2. Spot on assessment in regards to the Sierra, I use a Serria 703c for chatterbaits/squarebills and find it's just right for most horizontal moving presentations.
  3. Nice pick up, I had 3 elite tech smallmouth rods when they were available. The rods were great except for one issue, the locking nut on the fore grip could be more durable, it broke on all 3 of my rods, and I baby my stuff. I recommend not applying any extra pressure on the fore grip when securing your reel.
  4. I have been using the BPS lazer blade 5/8oz for a long time (they are awesome ,except for the hooks), 2 years ago BPS had a great sale on them, so I stocked up. Now I need to restock ,I went to 2 different retail locations and the blades all looked like something went wrong during production in regards to color patterns and sticker placements. So I ordered 10 online and experienced the same thing, I called to let them know and they were like we will send you another order, which they did and the same issue is still going on, anyone know anything about this?
  5. Dobyns site has the Fred Roumbanis rods on sale for 169.99. If you like a split grip for heavy duty flipping and pitching, the FR 766 is a nice rod.
  6. U 40 goes on every cork handle rod I own. I rarely need to re-apply, but if I do have to re-apply, I sand down the entire handle to smooth it out and make it even, at that point I apply another thin coat.
  7. I have a the New Met and the Bantam, over the past year I have gravitated towards the Bantam, its smooth, solid and comfortable to grip, just an overall awesome reel.
  8. Ok, thanks for the update.
  9. Not sure if I missed anyone talking about it,but it looks like TW is not having a memorial day sale. My local dicks has storm arashi cranks bogo at $3.99.
  10. Luhr Jensen Hot Lips Express 3/4oz
  11. I prefer shorter spinning rods, I have the fury 661 and the 662. If you are looking to throw 1/16 or 1/32 neds I would go with the 661. I use the 662 for 4 inch wacky rigs senkos, 3/8oz in line spinners , fluke jrs and poppers and find it super comfortable, lightweight and sensitive. Some guys complain that the handle is too short, but for my style of fishing, I find it just right. Hope this helps you in your decision process.
  12. Reminds me of an Omega jig https://omegacustomtackle.com/collections/jigs
  13. I couldn't agree more, the Vibrax Foxtail is a superior in line spinner.
  14. I would go with the Metanium.
  15. I like the the Big Bite Baits Rojas Fighting Frog. I don't know why they call it a frog , it's more like a craw or creature bait, the appendages have a nice fluttering action, however they don't last past a fish or two. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Big_Bite_Baits_Dean_Rojas_-_Fighting_Frog/descpage-BBBFF.html
  16. I have used the 7'4 Adrena for 1oz football heads targeting deep rock walls, I also use it for 1-1.5oz title shots in heavy weeds, the rod excels in these presentations.
  17. Basswhole! is spot on, see if you can get your hands on a Dobyns Fury 662 spinning rod. It's a great rod for what the op is talking about.
  18. I concur, I use the rod for 1-1.5oz jigs in moderate to heavy weeds, the tip has a little give , not a total broomstick . For throwing heavy tackle or into thick vegetation, it's a an excellent rod.
  19. I would consider the Shimano Poison Adrena Casting Rod 7'4" Heavy.
  20. I have the new Zodias 6,9 ML, paired with a vanford 2500 and find it excellent for ned rigs and 4/5 in senkos. I have been having some trouble with a rod sock for it. I have a rod glove spinning, but it seems like the bottom guide of the rod extends so far out where it creates a really tight fit. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of any other rod sock that would adequately fit the 20 Zodias spinning? I am considering the Rod Sox, but I would like to know if anyone has used one with the new Zodais before I order it. Any insight is appreciated. This is what I am considering as an alterative to the rod glove https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Rod_Sox_Spinning_Pro_Rod_Sleeves/descpage-RSOXS.html
  21. I have ordered over the phone as well. Nothing but positive experiences.
  22. I have both reels and I find the Curado 71 MGL more ergonomic than the SLX 71 MGL. The only reason I picked up the SLX 71 MGL is because the JDM model had a 6:3:1 gear ratio in lefty.
  23. I concur, the Bantam has turned into my favorite reel.
  24. I use the Arashi 5 squarebill, I have them in rattling and silent, they are awsome. They run straight, the stock hooks are very good and they catch fish.
