  1. I’ve stopped using power pro few years ago. I Constantly digging into the spool. Changed to berkley x5 and never have that problem since.
  2. Looks like they lightened/altered the image.
  3. That’s the best parts about his videos. Reading the comments. ?
  4. My favourite rods. I have a bunch of them and I’m super happy with them. Lightweight, sensitive, feel great and look great. ?? they pair up with tatulas very nicely as well
  5. Berkley x9 I find to be very smooth, very tough and very affordable. Definitely worth checking out. I’m switch all my line to berkley x5 and x9 and haven’t looked back. Just a suggestion. ??‍♂️.
  6. Yeah... let’s not go there. Too (just 2) many options. ??‍♂️ I have a handful of tatulas and love them. Can’t wait to get this tatula elite out on the water. I have a zillion HD 1520. Love that reel.
  7. I’m a sucker. Just picked up a tatula elite and have a scorpion mgl on order. ??‍♂️. Ok 2 reels this year. Not just one. ? It was a thought. For the price of a 20 Met. I got a tat elite and scorpion. I’m happy with that.
  8. not sure what I plan to use it for. Maybe chatterbaits and such. I don’t really have any dedicated reels. I just keep buying them to try them out. LoL. I have an slx mgl 70 and love that reel. Only have 2 shimanos and that’s one of them. All my other reels are daiwa or okuma. Not sure if I want to add another daiwa because I like what I have so I’ll assume the elite is fantastic. But The scorpion would be something different. Guess In comparison of quality and longevity and in general just a blast to use is what I’m loving for. Too many new reels. Have to pull the brakes this year. LoL. But ask me by June how that went. ?
  9. I’ve allowed myself one new reel purchase this year. I really don’t need it but I’m a sucker for buying new reels. ??‍♂️ ive decided on a tatula elite OR a scorpion mgl. Anyone that has tried both have any opinion to add to these choices? Not sure of the purpose for the extra reel, just want to buy a new reel for the year just because...
  10. Same here. I couldn’t get rid of the curado dc fast enough. LoL.
  11. I really enjoy my Zillion HD 1520 for my heavy set up. ??
  12. I regret buying an evergreen combat stick. I enjoyed using it so much that now I have 6 of them. ??‍♂️ wallet is no longer a paper weight. LoL
  13. I have the JDM version. I can’t compare to the usdm version because I didn’t know there was a difference aside from the jdm version says mgl on the handle and not on the side plate and the usdm version says mgl on the side plate. I didn’t enjoy the regular slx or xt at all. Never tried the dc version but this mgl version just made my day.
  14. SLX MGL all day. It’s just a really fun reel to use and I prefer daiwa. Don’t get me wrong, I love my tatulas but man that slx mgl is just tons of fun! If you don’t have a big smile after your first cast and through out the whole day, then I dunno what to tell you. Ha!
  15. Oh yeah. Go SLX MGL. Those reels are something. ?? forget the curado. You’d be extremely happy with the slx mgl.
  16. Maybe it’s soup grinding in the gears. I’ve had terrible luck when I tried the LFS. Can’t stand that reel. As for the slx or curado. You’re better off going the next step up from the slx and get the advantages of the curado. What’s a few more bucks?
  17. Silver all day! Would look better than gold! You just gotta think classy.
  18. It’s gotta be all about the money. My guess or they’d stand by the gear they keep pushing on everyone for so long. I stopped listening to pros talk about gear and started buying it myself to try it out. If I don’t like it then I just sell it and on to the next rods and reels that have me curious. A pros review on gear they use is like watching the 100s of YouTube videos of people buying the slx (for example) and reading the box and telling you it’s a great reel because you can make the spool free spin for xx amount of time or the handle turns so smooth and effortlessly. however at least the pros bring fish in the boat as they try to sell you that reel. But still it’s all marketing.
  19. LoL. I thought the same but wasn’t sure if I should comment. Well said. Well said... ?
  20. I just tie a dog bone to the end of the line and let the chihuahua grab it and pull. He ain’t too strong so I use that as my method to set my drag before I leave the house for a good fishing sesh.
  21. I agree with above. If you don’t want anything custom then it’s cheaper to get a new frame or side plate. That’s what I did to a few reels.
  22. The okuma helios reels are excellent reels. Feel like they’re worth more than the price tag and very underrated. I’ve put my helios reels through everything the past 5 years and they’re as good as the day I got them. Even the ones that have gone through the thickest of thick stuff. You can’t go wrong getting a helios SX or the TCS/green line. ??
  23. How have these held up after a season of use?
