I’d go bantam. I like my bantams more than my zillions. Have 5 bantams now and they balance out great that they don’t feel as heavy as you’d think they would.

Great reel. Didn’t realize they discontinued them.

I won a set of spool speed bearings years ago when Scott started the company and I put them in my Okuma Helios reel that I used for frogs and it Bombed frogs like no other reels. I had to take them out to stop it from spooling out every cast. Very little effort to the cast as well. I had them in another reel as well and it was the same thing. Those bearings I noticed a big difference over stock bearings so whatever bearings he uses or wherever he’s getting them from, I’d say there was a difference. I tried bearings from Ali express and never noticed a difference so now I’ll just replace them if I feel like they need to be replaced.

For a 19 year old rod… it’s in great shape and quite happy with it. Got it the last day of bass here before the spawn and got to great it in with a nice one. Now I gotta wait until mid June.

I was strictly braid forever and the last few years I’ve been all fluoro but this season I’m thinking it’s back to braid again with fluoro leaders. My go to braid was sufix 832 and berkley x5. What are the cool kids using these days?

I always take a garbage bag and gloves with me. I’ll try my best to leave the site cleaner than it was when I first got there. I’d hate for the trash to get into the water system or animals be affected by it. It’s a shame that people are ok with leaving such a mess where they’re supposed to go to find peace and relaxation.

I don’t. But I can probably get one to check. I haven’t had a second to sit down and check this out however, during my search I found a forum topic about the same thing on another site and they did say the Curado 70K MGL MM gear set was a good match. So I might look into that route and see how it goes. I have to drop off a bantam to Shimano locally so I’ll see if I can buy the parts at the same time.

I can’t find replacement gears for the 2017 scorpion DC to make the one I currently have 7.1 gear set. I have the 6.3 gear set at the moment so I was thinking I’d have to go MM going forward for a replacement. I have an SLX DC XT here and I was thinking of trying a swap later today. Wasn’t sure if there was any other gears that work that would be easier to get locally instead of ordering over seas at the moment

Should I choose to swap gears in my ‘17 Scorpion DC from the 6 gear to either a 7 or 8 gear. Does anyone know which gears would be compatible to upgrade to MM gears?

I plan to use it for smallies in the river where i wade. Was thinking using a karashi, small jerkbaits, small t-rig plastics, ned rigs and small poppers. Just all around whatever. Was thinking 6-8lbs braid but thought maybe the YZH would be a bit easier in rocky areas.

What line are you using with the PX68 finesse special spool. I finally got a hold of one a couple months ago and want to use it in my PX-R on the major craft Volkey rod. I ordered a spool last year and the seller sent me the factory px68 spool in a finesse special case so I didn’t get to try one last season. I spooled up for now with 6lbs YZH
