  1. Unless your bait is heavy enough, your floro leader won’t have enough weight itself to pull the braid down. Unless it’s more leader in the water than main line braid. Or you get a braid that says it sinks.
  2. Winter/late winter early spring. Some cold days around here it’s the small lipless and the beetle spin if you want to actually catch anything.
  3. Just enough to be enough, but not so much it’s too much. And not so little it’s too little
  4. Yes Creme. 1/4oz. Lol I have 100% success so far over years and I barely ever use them. It’s a “shrug” bait to me. Even though they have never failed me. Course now I jinxed it and I’m doomed.
  5. Wal mart pre-made shad swim baits. Catch fish every time I throw them but I rarely do. Not sure why...to either...?‍♂️
  6. Berkley Big game 12 and 15#. Have used it forever.
  7. I have omniflex in 6 and 10 lb. You get what you pay for, but since it’s mostly for my kids, you can’t beat it. I don’t even blink when I have to cut 20 yards of tangled nest off after my 7 yr olds first cast of the day. I’ve respooled his reel 2 times now. And don’t really care cause it’s omniflex. It has bad memory, but it holds up. I use the 6lb for my panfish rod and I’ve caught a couple almost 1# bass by “mistake.” It’s fine. Don’t expect great, but it’s fine.
  8. My kids gave me the $16 Rock fish gloves from academy. Not what I would have picked but they’ve been surprisingly great.
  9. I like my scampi in the oven. Just lay your shrimp out and cover with butter/herbs/ lemons juice and bake till shrimp done. Pour it all off into a bowl. So good.
  10. 6’6” is my go-to. From my days of having one rod that was...6’6”. Gonna be different for everyone lol.
  11. Catch a bluegill or perch and call it a day.

Wife and I got 2nd shot last Friday night. Felt awful Saturday but happened 1st shot too. Fine by Sunday afternoon.
  13. When skipping weightless I’ve always been under the impression you want a heavier worm. I can say the lighter worms make it a lot harder. I typically do a 1/16 weight or a split shot right at the hook just for extra help if I’m struggling on a day with Yum sticks. But I do weightless Senkos some as well. Wacky is harder to cast but easiest to fish for me. I also don’t do docks as much but lots of way overhanging trees, old piers, and just rocky escarpment types from erosion. Spinning is a must for me. 6’6” is easiest. My 7’ is much more difficult unless it’s going to opposite side of creek. I like a 12-15# or 20-30# braid in case I do get hung in a tree. Which I do some still.
  14. The iFish robot that brings your fish up to your boat. And cleans it. And frys it.
  15. Personally I really prefer my MH casting rods over my M. The M feels so squishy I have more trouble with accuracy. But my other M is a spinning rod and it’s no problem. ?‍♂️ People saying all rods are different are right. I recommend playing around with them in the store. Even just pretending you’ll feel the difference in M and MH where they flex. Pretending to cast that is.
  16. I’m getting this vibe from all the responses. I don’t feel like I’m being wasteful or disrespectful or something anymore.
  17. The size of the snap makes more difference to me than where you snap the bait. A slightly bulkier snap really seems to get caught in everything. I snap to the split rings every time.
  18. I did have to call the cops one night cause a woman started yelling help. Loudly. Frantically. It’s a local lake so city police have some jurisdiction. Part of the lake is in city limits even. I was down at the water standing on rocks. probably 16-20ft down by a boat ramp so I couldn’t get back up quick to see what was up. When I got up to the truck there wasn’t a soul there but me. Since I’ve seen this movie I did not search around. Scared me to death though. Called cops and sat in my truck. When they didn’t show after 30 mins I left. Still have no clue what went on.
  19. Yeah, your question is a little “skewed.” If you’re fishing heavy cover you’ll want stronger line, but not necessarily thicker. Floro has good sensitivity, but it’s expensive so a smaller diameter will save you money if you use cheap mono backing on your reel. My Trig setup has 12lb floro, baitcast, and it handles it pretty well. It’s a gigantic size difference from the 14lb big game mono. Major difference in casting distance, aim, feel, etc.
  20. I have never even owned a rod cover. My Granddad that taught me to fish never had them. Fished 60 years. Kept his stuff in his garage. Never even owned a boat so they were always exposed. Am I missing something? Or should I even care? I’m curious what you think currently. I don’t even see them in pro videos much anymore, not that it says much.
  21. Same, although I even leave the split ring on smaller cranks. Never occurred to me to remove it and never noticed a difference to make me think I should.
  22. Yeah I just meant I don’t see the point of a more expensive line. Should have said that. Just mono for buzzbaits and shallow spinners for me.
  23. No cause floro sinks. And my braid always gets fouled. I use mono.
  24. Yes. I’d be careful getting setups for things you don’t really use often. I don’t love my 7’ medium bait casting rod. Wish I’d just done 6’6” or a 7’ MH. Feels like I’m whipping a cooked spaghetti. But I got it and I’m stuck with it for now. I got it cause Roland Martin considers it a must. I now disagree ?‍♂️ I don’t have a dedicated crank setup cause I only throw lipless for 2 months a year. And even then not consistently.
  25. Just pull it tight and twang it like a guitar holding the other end. Then let go it slack and you could whack it with a stick and get nothing. Braid just doesn’t transmit unless it’s taught. Although I have to say I feel mono transmits more than floro since more of it is out of the water. Just personal opinion experience etc.
