10 Million Dollar Lawsuit Filed in Obion County Central Bass Team Death
This feels an awful lot like spilling your coffee on yourself and suing cause it’s hot. I know the school planned it, but at what point is it just a tragic accident? Or personal responsibility? If I die of a heart attack walking uphill can I sue the contractor that poured the sidewalk? I just hate that these tragedies happen and instead of seeing anything about how great the deceased was, what they lived for, had to offer, etc., all you see is lawsuits and blaming. I agree with you that the school could hold some responsibility...but no one told the kid they HAD to fish it.

You ever just undress and dive for your lost lure?
Some lakes worry me I’ll become the toxic avenger. But yeah snakes are a concern too, yeah.

I sacrifice the little one. What? He likes it...

Trailers for finesse jigs
I like big 4-5” curly or double tail grubs. I also don’t use chunks. Craws work as well, or the weird bug things everybody makes now. But I like grubs.

Crank baits from the bank
You can or you can buy doubles.

Fish attractant, scent cover up, or snake oil
I have crawfish spike it that I will spray in the “used” plastics bag and leave them to kinda rejuice in winter when I don’t get much action. Fishing that is...?
-
where to put the plastics!
Gallon Ziplocks in my fishing backpack. 1 for stick baits, 1 for swimbaits, 1 for creatures. There’s bleed over, like paddle tails that aren’t swim baits are in with swimbaits cause they’re paddle tails, but it works for me. Im strictly bank so it’s organized but also if something comes open it doesn’t get all in my backpack. And it allows me to carry a lotta choice in plastics fairly easily.

Split Shot
What length do you typically do?

Confused about the various rod manufacturers' rod power ratings and how they correspond to one another, and also looking for a recommendation/try to decide on a medium heavy fast casting rod.
Rod material also greatly affects it. Ugly stiks are glass/graphite and it’s definitely a heavier feeling rod than “medium” that’s listed on it. It bends like a medium action but is much stiffer like a MH it heavy rod. So there’s that. I stand in the store and pretend to do my cast and work my bait such before I buy a rod just cause there’s no standard. But I learned what I don’t like by trial and error.

Fish attractant, scent cover up, or snake oil
My 10 year old swears by it. He hoses all his baits down now because he did it to his beetle spinner at a public park lake and caught a small bass when everyone else (me included) got skunked. But I never bother with it so ?♂️

Crank baits from the bank
Cranks from bank are hard. Especially in ponds. It takes distance to give them time to dive to depth, and from the bank it’s really hard for them to dive and go uphill. I only use lipless or the smaller square bills that go 3ft or less. Even those I have to ease my rid tip vertical as it comes back to me. Just can’t fish them effectively. I do well with the lipless as long as I keep it moving so the nose can bounce off the rocks. Or I change the treble hooks to doubles.

Split Shot
So nose hooked they won’t get snagged on everything? Do you use clam dropshot or those bullshot things?
-
Split Shot
Anyone currently rigged for split shot? I was thinking of setting up a rig for it but I’m unsure of what it is really good for. I read about pulling through grass, but also fishing shallow empty banks. 5-6” stick worms or 4” curly tail. Not sure what exactly I should try. I understand you want lighter line and use smaller aberdeen hook. Any suggestions appreciated.

A Cell Phone Question
This was a common “misinterpretation” in the past. Windows machines got way more viruses. Well yes, windows machines outsold apple by so much that most of the worlds data was in windows machines. Therefore, windows machines got more viruses. But it’s a matter of quantity. It’s not like apple didn’t have viruses. Now, today the world is still mostly windows/android, and apple products are still very secure. But no more secure than any other OS. In fact, the App Store had a massive data breach a while back. Just like everyone else. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/johnkoetsier/2020/12/05/surprisingly-a-massive-and-ongoing-apple-privacy-breach-is-thanks-to-apples-security-focus/amp/ Again, it’s more about where you go online. I’ve never had a problem. But I don’t visit “those” sites either.

Smooth braid for spinning
Yeah I haven’t tried any of the Amazon non-name brand, but otherwise I look more at my budget. I use 30lb big game braid for throwing jigs in grass, slop, etc, and 10lb power pro on my neko rig. 65 big game braid on my top water.

A Cell Phone Question
I don’t have anti virus on my iPhone, but I don’t visit sites or download anything that would make me need it. Phone OS has built in more than computer due to cell network vulnerability.

Here is my water color what jig would you fish?
Yeah if it helps I have white, green and orange, or black blue jigs with skirts. The simple shirtless ball jigs and such I get white or black. That’s it.

When I was in school it was “what did my child do?” Now when I call home it’s “what did you do to my child.” My personal favorite is “my child would never lie to me.” And this sad event, well, even the notion that a multi million dollar payout will replace your child is just sadder for these parents.

Cleaning House
Funny that the saying is it’s hard to find good employees. Personal experience tells me it’s equally as hard to find good employers. Been treated like crap at more than one job by someone that I’m sure tells people “it’s so hard to find good workers these days.” To OP hang in there. Sometimes it sucks. But there’s plenty of good people looking for jobs with good people.

Which of these colors is best in murky water?
I swim a zoom superfluke paddle tail all the time...in dirty water...and catch fish. But yeah you really wanna go with vibration or noise in dirty water.
-
Favorite trailer
I like yum or big bites craws. Although I also like bugs if various shapes.

BFS? I Don't Get It
I had to google it...

Has anyone tried this jig?
I have all white, green pumpkin, and black/blue. That’s it. They all work. (There’s even arguments that color is only a confidence thing.) I can say my green pumpkin jig with orange in the skirt catches fish. But so does my white swim jig.
