  1. Most of my bites have come on the hop
  2. You had me at screaming runs
  3. I use a rapala that I checked with certified weights from a grain elevator. Right on the money every time . I want to feel confident when I lie about my fish stories ?
  4. Uh oh better call Geico. ? I wonder if he got his cap back.
  5. Three years ago I got caught by a hailstorm with 60mph winds. It wasn’t worth the extra 30 minutes . I had done it before and got away with it, but never again. Trying to keep my boat off the rocks while being pelted in the face with quarter size hail is a desperate feeling.
  6. Some of the most fun I’ve had was with a worm and bobber.
  7. Cut the tag short on connecting knots so it goes through the eyes of your rod better , that’s why plenty of wraps are necessary. I had to learn that one the hard way. Using a pair of straight toenail clippers will help you from nicking the line . Leave a little extra on the braid because it will slip easier than the mono/fluoro does. The uni knot is a great knot to learn for connections and hooks because it cinches down so easy and is consistent. Tying knots and breaking them at the kitchen table will tell you which knots slip and how much tag you can get away with. Reeling in a curled up end where your hook used to be sucks.
  8. I know what you are saying. My wife and I found a nice honey hole, catching some nice eater walleye. A pontoon boat is fishing across from us and he saw us catch a fish . So he comes and parks his boat where I had been casting. There were kids on the boat, or that dude would’ve had a chunk of his butt missing. I did let him know that I wasn’t pleased with his decision to teach those kids that crap, but I’m not sure he knew that he had done anything wrong. He does now
  9. Same here. I’ve never seen one on the lake I fish. Never caught a bass with pincers hanging out , either .
  10. Three feet underwater? Kinda shoots the “ fluorocarbon is invisible to fish “ all to heck
  11. I can’t find anything on USGS about Texas crayfish except that raccoons love to eat them. Bummer Black and blue is super popular! This makes me think perhaps I should throw it more.
  12. I have GOT to figure out how to navigate the USGS website. Tonight I’m going to give it whirl. Thanks for the lead
  13. Wow ! You know your crawfish.
  14. That is a great article. Thank you
  15. What color are crawdads in early spring on your home lake?
  16. The clinch will slip so be sure to leave plenty of tag , just in case .
  17. I tried the clear blue for awhile until one afternoon I was watching the bluegill trying to eat my line. Not the lure, the line.
  18. A snap swivel was a great idea . Are you tying a clinch or improved clinch ? You’re going to love fishing . It’s awesome
  19. Yep . I really am in Texas . I know smallmouth are in the lake I’m fishing, because my wife keeps catching them in front of me. I just haven’t been able to figure these little buggers out , yet .
  20. I am the skunkmaster. No bass yet this year . Short sleeve weather is coming soon woohoo !
  21. Big game for baitcaster and trilene xl for spinning .

That’s a good looking pb&j Where did you get your skirt material?
  23. I use the uni to uni for small line too. On the wraps I go 14 on the braid and 5 or 6 on the fluorocarbon.
