Tube Hooks?
When fishing tubes i use Aberdeen Hooks or just straight shank hooks. I always run the line through the eyelet of the hook(dont tie a knot) and then run the the hook with the line through the top of the tube. I then throw on a bullet weight and push it up inside the tube and then tie my hook to the line. Based on the size of the hook and what size bullet weight i use, my hook always comes out right under the skirt. This setup also allows you to catch a ton of fish on one lure, since when you do catch a fish, the lure/weight will shoot up the line and not tear up the lure. I always bounce them along the bottom, and have a lot of luck.

POLARIZED SUNGLASSES
I have owned both Costas and Maui Jims, both are really nice glasses. Go into any sunglass store and they will tell you these are the best out there. Raybans and bolle are a step below, but are still nice. Personally i would go with the Costas (i have the MP2's), they are geared more to fishing than the Mauis. If your good about not loosing glasses, i would go ahead and drop the dough for a nice pair, you wont be dissapointed. Also, if i were you go try them on the store find what you like, then look for them online. I got mine for like 50 dollars less than what they sold for in the store off the internet.

Fishing Golf Course Ponds
I worked on a golf course for a couple summers and regualarly fish them, and these are great places to fish if you can. They are fished very little, and often have some real lunkers in them. Like everyone else said i would ask, and if you do go make sure you go during low golf traffic times. Golf traffic is going to be at its greatest on the weekends and in the mornings during the week. What i have found is in the summer, the golf course is usually pretty deserted in the eveings in the early part of the week, which is nice because it conincides with good fishing. Also during the summer i know many private golf courses will close the course for a full day or part of the day, usually Monday, for general golf course maintenance, which would allow you to avoid golfers all together. By the way if your out there, just remember to stay quite, out of the way, and aware of incoming golf balls. They hurt. Golfers just like fisherman dont appreciate people making noise and interrupting them.

Small Pond Fishing
I pretty much just fish small ponds, and typically catch the most fish using soft plastics: tubes, 10 inch worms, trick worms wacky ricked, and horny/ seismic toads. I also have been having a some luck lately fishing these soft plastic minnows form blue flox that have a spinner in the front, and a treble hook coming out the back. here is a link http://www.bluefox.com/products/vibrax_doubleheader.php to what they look like. They are really cheap and i got a couple from walmart, i just fish them parallel with the shore and have caught a decent amount of fish. I caught a crappie, a lmb, and a pike in about a 20 min span on these last weekend. Also how are people fishing chatterbaits, i have trying them out recently and have only caught one fish.

pond fishing
I agree with GotOne42 about fishing with tubes. I have a lot of luck with gizit tubes in dark colors fished around weedbeds.

Need lure suggestions for river Smallies
I just graduated from JMU in December, and fished a lot of the rivers around Harrisonburg. In the spring i would catch a ton of fish on mepps #2 agilas and dressed agilas. I also had good luck with some panther martins. For some reason these just seemed to outcatch everything else i threw out there, this time of the year.
