  1. Cabela's Monster Bass for the Xbox 360 comes out November 15th. You can pre-order it now.
  2. I wear Costa Del Mar MP2 with the green mirror lens, which i have fallen in love with. I have owned Ray-Bans, Oakleys, and Maui-Jims (I worked at Sunglass Hut for awhile, great discount, after a month or two just sell them on ebay and would break even). Costa del Mar have by far been my favorite pair of glasses, followed by the Maui Jims. I have tried wearing the cheaper glasses, and there really is no comparison. If you want a good pair of glasses, save up the money and get some Costas or Maui Jims, you wont regret it. By the way they are both extremely generous with their warranty. My first pair of Costas spent over a year on the bottom of a pond. The water got really clear and i was able to fish them out. They were totally ruined, i sent them back to Costa and they hooked it up with a new pair.
  3. I have a pond in my backyard, and i put dye in it, at the beginning of the summer and usually once during the summer and it has zero effect on the fishing. The dye doesn't kill the vegetation, it just slows down its spread. If you put chemicals in there that kill the grass, you have to be extremely careful not too add too much or you will kill the fish also.
  4. Yeah there are usually a lot of swimmers and sunbathers around. There is usually a pretty interesting crowd down there. Here is the address if you need to mapquest it. Pony Pasture Rapids Riverside Dr and E Rockfalls Dr Richmond, VA 23235
  5. All my baitcasters are RH retrieve, and all my spinning rods are LH retrieve. I have tried switching my spinning rods to RH retrieve and it just feels weird. Does anyone else retrieve one stlye right handed and the other style left handed.
  6. Yeah it is usually somewhere in the range of $10 an inch.
  7. Yeah what triton21 said, if your gonna wade it you wanna go downstream and wade upstream. If you wade downsteam, you muck up all the water.

I saw RW always talking about them and gave them a try. They are now my goto fishing bait. I tend to fish the watermelon, black, and green pumpkin ones the most. I have also had some luck on the chartreuse ones.

I really like the suspending jerkbaits. I have found they work well in early spring, when the water is just warming up and i have caught a couple nice fish this summer with them.
  10. I read something where the best time to look for boats is over the winter. They are typically cheaper then. Right now your in prime fishing season so people typically ask for more. I was looking for a boat in January and February and the deals were a lot better then than they are now.
  11. You have to pick out the birdnests before you start to reel in. It just takes a lot of practice to get good, and even then your still going to have an ocassional bird nest.
  12. Bassin is pretty good. Field and Steam is good especially if you hunt too.
  13. Your problem is having the camera ready before you get the fish in. I had a big one (what at that time would have been my new pb) on the line, yelled to a friend to grab the camera and the scale out of the tackle box, and no more than two seconds after the words left my mouth the fish jumped and spit my jig. I now no longer mention getting the camera or scale, until that fish is on land
  14. Yeah most people in VA use the striped bass and rockfish interchangeably.
  15. Largemouth, Smallmouth, and some striped bass.
  16. I have a 9ft rod, with 9wt line. Orvis was having a big sale. I had no intention on buying a setup when i went in there.
  17. I recently got a Fly rod/reel to fish for LMB. The guy at the store told me it wasn't necessary to use a tapered leader and tippet, just to use a couple yards of 16lb test monofilament. His reasoning was that the tapered leader was not necessary since the flies for LMB are relatively large. The guy seemed very knowledgeable, and i did this and it worked. I was wondering if anyone else does this, or has tried this, and if their is any noticeable difference between using just monofilament and the conventional setup.
  18. The fish in my avatar was caught on a Fat Ika green pumpkin with black flake
  19. Dicks Sporting Goods carries Megastike. If you go to their website, you can see which retail stores carry their products.
  20. I really like my Revo, however, i hate the bass pro shops bionic blade rod, it came with.
  21. Wacky rigging zoom trick worms work well too.
  22. I just checked their website, and it appears to be a suspending jerkbait.
  23. Pearce you going to JMU
  24. Like everyone else said they are good places to go and practice your technique. Also in most areas they are the places to go to catch the big fish. Check out the the link below. It is a list of all the citation largemouth bass, caught in the state of VA last year. Over half of them were caught in private ponds. By the way my name will be on their twice for 2007. http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/varp/citations.asp?species=largemouth+bass&sort=waterbody
