  1. Go with Costa del Mar's you wont regret it. Rayban and Maui Jim also make really good glasses. I have owned all three, and personally prefer the Costas. Its really up to you, what you like. I currently own the MP2's with the green mirror glass lens. They are very light and the lenses are top notch. While they are a littly pricey, its something your going to wear nearly everyday.
  2. I bought my first 100 today, and also picked up a Flat MINIMr for 10.
  3. I have a right handed baitcaster, and do the hand switch thing. Then with my spinning rod, i cast with my right and reel with my left. I have tried using a left handed baitcaster, and reeling with my right hand with my spinning reel and it just feels weird. Like someone else said, i think it is all just what you used first, is what your most comfortable with.
  4. i would think it would vary state by state, so check your DNR or DGIF
  5. I am looking at getting a yak, i found a good deal on a Tarpon 140. I went and checked out a local outfitter and it seems like a pretty good yak. I will do mainly slow river, and pond/lake fishing. Basspaddler and PDB, what kind of yaks do yall have and how do you like them.
  6. Yeah i saw the episode on linders when he fishes with these. I will be picking up a couple of them.
  7. I like The Bass Pros, In-Fisherman, Lindlers Angling Edge, and Worlds Greatest Fishing Show. While WGFS is not the most informative, at times, it is the most entertaining. The worst, would have to be Roland Martin, especially the episodes that have his wife in them.
  8. I went into gander mtn once and wasn't too impressed. Green Top is much better in my opinion. I don't feel as if there is any real price difference between their fishing tackle and stores like Bass Pro and Gander Mtn. Plus their selection and service is much better.
  9. I am pretty sure it costs 16 dollars to ship the rods. if you hit the buy tab, there is a little statement about a 16 fee for shipping rods.
  10. Are the shimano people just there to talk to or are they going to be putting on presentations. It would be nice if they would put their products on sale.
  11. I own one, and i like it so far. It casts a mile and mine is pretty smooth. I got it a couple months ago, and i have only used it a couple times. Been too busy hunting. But from the initial use, i have put it through i like it and the price was nice. When i did fish with it, i mainly used the twitchin bar to reel in slack, not actually work the bait.
  12. Just ask, more than likely they wont say no. Like Sam said, golf courses are usually closed one day a week. It is usually monday, to give it a break after the weekend. I tend to catch my biggest fish out of golf course ponds.
  13. Those fish sure are tasty.
  14. I have one rod rigged with a fat ika all the time. i have caught a lot of fish with them, and they are extremely easy to fish.
  15. I got a flyrod over the summer, but never got around to using it to much. Didnt want to waste good fishing time learning how to fly fish. Now that it is cold, though i am putting in some good practice time. Like Sam said, check out orvis, they have good stuff and a really good waranty on their products.
  16. The bow and arrow thing seems pretty cool. I read an article about it, great way to get rid of a nuisance fish.
  17. Yeah my initial post may have been a little confusing. Has anyone seen them cheaper than 179.99 shipped before the 50 dollar rebate. I dont really know why i am asking this, if there is a cheaper price, i am sure it would have been posted.
  18. Delo's sure has some good prices, and free shipping. I have been contemplating getting a Curado, and just may pull the trigger. Has anyone seen them any cheaper than 179.99 shipped?
  19. Yeah he laid that Bills punter out, it was awesome. I am glad people are voting him in, he deserved to go anyways.
  20. Get the Costas, i have the MP2's with the green mirror glass lenses, and i love them. I have had Costas, Ray Bans, Oakley's and Maui Jims. The Costas were by far the best, with Maui Jim coming in a close second. Costa's are a superior made product, with a very good warranty. They are very well regarded, and many of their lenses are made specifically for fishing applications. I have had mine for about 3 years and haven't had any problems with them. I think they are really stylish, and have noticed a lot more people wearing them since i got them. My suggestion would be to go to a sunglass store, try a ton on till you find a pair you like. I wouldn't base your suggestion on whether or not they would fit on what size face you think you have. No reason to blow a bunch of cash, on a pair of glasses that may or may not fit your face. Get the Costas, i promise you, you wont regret it. I have never heard anyone saying anything negative about them. Oakley's aren't very good glasses, ask anyone at a sunglass store, they will tell you there are much better brands out there.
  21. What size drill bit do you use for silencing the rattletrap. Also do you drill into the side of the rattletrap or on the top or the bottom.
  22. Here is another link that just has a list of all the awards you can get. My goal is that expert angler award for in the next 5 years. http://www.dgif.state.va.us/fishing/varp/
  23. I got my first one for a LMB this year. i framed mine and put a picutre of me holding the fish in it.
  24. I have caught several fish (in my backyard pond and other lakes) that have hooks coming out of their urogential opening (butt), where they had been gut hooked and it worked its way through its digestive tract. These fish were healthy and doing alright, so if you gut hook a fish and leave the hook in there, its not a guarnteed death sentence. If it is bleeding really bad and you know it is going to die, do whatever you want with it. If you eat it or toss it back, it is gonna be beneficial for someone or something either way.
  25. Mattlures, are the minnows going to be sold at Greentop in Virginia. The last time i was there i saw where they sold your lures.
