I got a new toy
I did a semipermanent install, where i glued a piece of foam (with an opening the shape of transducer cut out) and then just used vaseline. For powering it i used an 8 battery clip and a 9 volt snap connector. I have fished for about 20 hours and still am using those 8 batteries. That probably doesnt make a ton of sense but check out this page it should help http://kayakfishingstuff.com/articles_view.asp?Kayak_Articles=39 Also check out the kayakfishingstuff forums and articles. Tons of good information and lots of pictures of installs. PM me if you have any other questions. Jason

I got a new toy
Yeah i have a fishing kayak, and the Ram mounts work pretty well in them. That thing is pretty awesome by the way. Get a milkcrate to put all your tackle boxes in, they fit well in the back part.

Stocking a pond...
Contact your DNR/ Game and Inland Fisheries. They will have all the info on what to stock and how much. Also who to contact to get fish. When we stocked ours, you placed your order at a feed store, and then a truck would come once every couple months and you would pick up your fish.

New PB
Caught this 23.5 inch (citation length in VA) 6lber on a Berkley Powerbait Sabertail Bug. Caught her out of my fishing kayak, right near a spillway on a local pond. .5 lb heavier than my old PB. Have been doing really well with kreature type baits and jigs. Caught two other 5+lb fish on jigs over the past week, but didn't have my camera. The pictures are pretty bad and don't really do the fish justice.

Costa Del Mar lens
I have a pair of MP2's with green mirror glass. I really like them. I believe they are amber based. Also the glass are actually lighter than the CR-39. I orginally had the CR-39 in amber, and had a little accident in which my glasses spent the better part of a year in my backyard pond. When i sent them back i upgraded to the glass, and i am glad i did. lighter and clearer. Check this link out, give you an overview of all the lenses. You wont regret getting Costas. Best sunglasses out there. http://www.costadelmar.com/SeeOutThere/Technology/PureLensPerfection/

The fish learn our baits....
At my parents house we have a 1.5 acre pond, that i am pretty much the only one that ever fishes. My dad ocasionally does, but pretty much i am the only one. The pond itself is seven years old. The first couple years i fished it, i would catch close to 10 an hour. Now it may be one or two. I also used to catch them all the time on tubes. It was pretty much my go to bait. Now when i fish with a tube it will be just a dink or two. I take good care of the pond, making sure to remove appropriate amounts/size bluegills and bass each year. So the pond is in fine shape, and there are plenty of fish. The other week i went and bought some minnows to try and catch some of the catfish and see how big they had gotten. In the processs of catching the catfish i also caught a 6lb and 6.5lb bass. I havent caught anything over 3lbs on artificial lures in awhile. What i am getting at, is that i defiently feel that bass get conditioned to certain baits and will no longer eat them. Just like people, there are bright ones and then there are dumb ones. Why one fish gets to be 10+lbs, while the other ones mouth it all torn up from being caught so many times is not just dumb luck.

World's Greatest Fishing Show
I am a big fan of Worlds Greatest Fishing Show. While it is not the most informative, it is pretty entertaining. Plus they aren't trying to sell you stuff the entire time. Roland Martin actually isn't bad in these two episodes.

Sharing Expenses on a fishing trip
The thing is that you shouldn't have to ask. The guest should offer. I think its a pretty classless move, when the guest doesnt offer.

Shad Run
I was up at greentop the other day picking up a depthfinder, and also picked up some shad darts. Anyone else around the richmond area, interested in trying to catch some when they begin to make their run. It should be coming up in the next couple weeks. I have been told it is alot of fun catching them on light weight tackle. I havent done it yet, so wouldnt mind meeting up with someone that has done it before.
