  1. Well I just got my hands on a wii and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a fishing game. I have read all the reviews and all of the critics seem to be disapointed no matter what the title is. I am looking for the most realistic thing to real bass fishing ofcourse (easier said than done).
  2. I went to two club meetings and scored my 10 points! ;D
  3. Thanks for the heads up. I just saved myself 40 bucks by going to Delos. Was going to wait till Feb but 40 dollars is 40 dollars.
  4. Harshman, let me get with Needemp and I might be interested in this. Either way those latest jigs you sent me are perfect. I just got engaged so money has been short lately. Let me get things together and I will be putting in a large order. You can do 1/4 oz right? Munkin, I think I will look into the toaster oven thing at lunch.
  5. Jigman, Needemp and I are working on this little project together. Anyways, do you remember where you bought your propane lighter because I am having a real hard time finding someone who sells them in the St. Louis area.
  6. Im looking to buy that exact same reel for my cranking rod so if you hate it or looking for a different gear ratio make me an offer through a PM.
  7. This is good news for me because I was planning on buying atleast one now probably two new curados. Thanks for the info.
  8. I plan on doing option 4 with my lowrance X96 when I fix up my 14' jon. I fish a lot at a place where you can only rent jon boats (can't bring your own boat) so I need to keep the portable option available to me.
  9. If I fish any tournaments from the 14' it will be one limit type tournaments. There is no way I can fit two livewells on the boat.
  10. I think I understand the theory on this. So the head is the only thing hot enough to melt the powder correct? Thanks for the idea.
  11. Allright, I know there is been a lot of threads about powder coating but I had one specific to spinnerbaits. Is there anyway to powdercoat spinnerbait heads without a spray gun? I want to make sure both sides as well as the top and bottom are even without getting a lot of paint on the hook/wire.
  12. Allright, well I am adding a deck to a 14' jon boat and I am trying to figure out what size livewell to use. I want the fish safety as a number one priority but with the other storage compartments I want to put underneath the deck its getting kind of tight. I read somewhere that a 30 gallon would be fine which equals 120 quarts. Is this fine or can I get a way with smaller size. 99% of my fishing on this boat I won't need to use the livewell at all. This is just incase I fish a tournament on a small lake.
  13. I have this exact depth finder. I am assuming you are going to get the suction cup transducer mount. It is the same exact thing as the regular version. Plenty of pixels and options. The only problem I have ever seen is the suction cup comming off the boat every now and then. But it only takes a couple of seconds to put it back on.
  14. Yep, this is from *** "One of the pioneers in scent and flavor enhanced baits, Berkley has improved their offerings with their new Tournament Strength Power Baits. Berkley's Bio-Salt technology simulates the salt content of live prey fish, making Tournament Strength baits even more deadly."
  15. I think a lot of his "haters" would change their minds about him after reading the book.
  16. I worked at that Kmart when I was still at good old Fox High. Awww the memories, I couldn't stand that place!
  17. Well we found the screw to manually raise the motor so we found a quck fix to the problem. Thanks for the help/ideas.
  18. Well it looks like the outboard was made by Mercury (40HP). The main issue is we are worried about launching the boat when it isn't fully trimmed up. Thanks, Jason
  19. Its a 40 HP engine, I don't know what kind though and he has a new born and I don't want to call and possible wake the baby. Any other questions I will try to answer but I don't have a lot of information. I know I am making it difficult.
  20. Allright, a guy I planned on fishing with is having a problem with trimming up his outboard. He says everything was working yesterday with the batteries half charged. He even trimmed it up then back down in place. Now he can't get it trimmed up again and his depth finder that is attached to his council isn't working. Everything else is working and it seems the batteries are fully charged. It also is making a clicking noise when he tries trimming it down even further (its down all the way). Has anyone ever seen this problem before and if so how did you fix it? I don't know much about boats, is there any way to manually raise the motor? Also, if we can do this can you travel with it trimmed up or is this a big no no? The reason why I am asking is because I planned on playing hookie at work on tuesday and head out with him. Thanks, Jason
  21. When you discover a pattern I was curious how many similar traits do you need to feel comfortable that another spot on the lake fits the criteria enough to produce. Such as having the same water temp, water clarity, type of cover, bottom contour, ect... I know ideally we would like to have as many as possible but in general how many traits do you need to gain confidence in the new spot.
  22. I know what type of angler I want to become but as to what type of angler I am right now I can't answer that question with 100% confidence because of my lack of experience. I would consider myself a bass fisherman by your definition because I put in at least a good hour to hour and a half of researching various aspects of bass fishing and strategy a day. (Mostly at Work ;D) In my opinion this doesn't make me a "good" bass fisherman because I am just starting out but I am trying. I also get real excited when I am going to new lakes for the first time. I would much rather have an ok day on the water on any lake I might fish rather than dominate one or two particular lakes. With your pattern vs spot fisherman. When I am fishing lakes that I am familiar with and cannot produce a productive pattern I am guilty of going to spots that have produced before and they usually get me a fish or two. Unfortunately these fish are usually shorts. I recently joined a bass club to fish tournaments next year and I know this strategy will be a huge waste of time. Knowing this I have made a conscious effort to try to figure out a pattern for a longer period of time. Sometimes I put the pieces of the puzzle together and other times I get skunked. But I learn a lot more by doing this.
  23. Harshman mentioned to me that he heard a rumor that they might cancel the series because of the low water levels. I have been meaning to tell you this. Thanks for the reminder.
  24. I was at BassPro about 2 weeks ago and they didn't have any avids in stock yet. I might have to head up there to see if they have any in stock yet. Are we still talking 150-170 Range?
