What's so special about them? All of mine are St Croix or Dobyn's fury. But I am curious and have $200 gift cards lying around ?

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
went here after you suggested and caught some nice ones very quickly! Had the whole pond to myself, and it was for the most part no wind which is nice at Chauncy (it doesn’t have as much cover so if it’s windy I fine it harder to fish there). Thanks for the suggestion again!

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
That is so cool, catching fish in Charles. I hate driving into the city but maybe on a weekend I could try here. Are there public boat launch areas I can launch kayak from?

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Thanks. I did go to A1 and that pond has crazy weeds to the point that it’s difficult to pedal my kayak without getting hung up in matting. I have done some shoreline there and a few spots have produced for me, if I am willing to hike a bit.? Ha ha I know, I sometimes think I might be trespassing when going to spots that I think haven’t seen other anglers to get better hookups? never been to waban, so there aren’t any good launching spots on the lake anywhere? Would prefer if I don’t get ticketed when fishing ? thanks! I will check it out. I fish on Chauncy often, and it started getting lesser productive for me over the years. Admittedly I have not fished on kayak here though, which I will do now ? hopefully I figure out your spots from years ago ? fort meadow does not seem to have a boat ramp for non town residents (I don’t live in Hudson or Marlborough), looking at google reviews. I have driven past it so many times visiting the ice rink nearby never really thought of fishing there. I will do a drive around and see if there are any other spots I can launch from.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Looking for pointers around Boston metrowest area. Mostly fish on my hobie kayak, and stay in Westborough/Hopkinton/Ashland area. However, I am now looking to venture out a bit and want to check if experts here would have recommendation for me ? Would love to try some other spots ~30-45 mins away from Boston metrowest area.

Best state for river/creek smallies?
Same! He is all fishing no frills. The one about his grand dad's lure is my all time favorite, and he doesn't even catch the biggest ones in that one!

Smallmouth fishing in maine
Thanks, that is helpful. I saw some videos and you are right those fish seem small ? We can not do sea fishing too much (get sick on boat without fail) and therefore are looking for some fresh water options. I could not find anything in Acadia but the river has some guided tours.

Smallmouth fishing in maine
(mods, please move if this is not appropriate location) We are visiting Acadia in July, I was looking for guided fishing tours and a few names for smallmouth fishing guided fishing tours came up. This is to be sure not in Acadia / Bar Harbor area, but around Kennebec River. Are these tours any good, I am happy to drive if we end up catching good sized smallmouths with a guide who knows what they are doing ? It seems around 2 hrs away but just want to see if its something that is worth the drive from Acadia to go to.

Certain colored senkos softer than others?
lol. I don't know who mentioned 297, it could have been this forum but I remember Roland likes it too! It works really well for me.

Certain colored senkos softer than others?
297 color FTW!

Senko durability
I thought there was only one type - Yamamoto ? It depends on how bad the fish bite it but usually I am looking for next one after 3-4 fish. They are pretty delicate.

Your go to numbers bait

Help! Spring bass fishing!
I think I just needed to spend more time + be on kayak ? We had a nice warm weekend and I had a couple of good outings! All with just senkos, but I am going to try weighted worm for heavy thick vegetation + plopper next!

Help! Spring bass fishing!
Thanks yes that is something I haven't yet tried (deeper waters). It might also help to be more accurate with depth and finding flats, points, and get a fish finder for my kayak ?

Help! Spring bass fishing!
Yes summer time just feels easier. I start getting anxious when folks I follow on youtube are catching bass, and I get skunked almost every time in spring ? Maybe I am just senko/summer guy, and haven't yet put in the work to learn any other baits.

Help! Spring bass fishing!
Thanks I have not tried buzzbaits and can try that next. Conditions might be more warmer in Texas I imagine? ? It is getting warmer here in MA as well. Maybe its to do with a lot of bank fishing and the fish just havent moved in yet.

Help! Spring bass fishing!
My first post, although I have been reading these forums for quite sometime. I have found it very helpful! A little about where I fish. I am in Boston metrowest area, and mostly fish in that area. I consider myself decent angler during summer and I feel I am quite productive then. However, spring is just not my time and I wonder if I am doing anything wrong. Here is what I have tried so far: 1. Fish at same spots where I have success in summer. I am not very familiar with how to identify structures under water, but usually look for spots with vegetation, overhanging trees, dead tree stumps showing through water etc. 2. I have a kayak and have taken it out a few times, however most of my fishing this season has been from bank. 3. I have tried spinner bait, crankbait, jig, texas rigged senko. I usually (90%) fish with texas rigged senko during summer. I figured during spring fish aren't really looking for worm, and would prefer moving bait. Thanks to all the helpful posts I think I am pretty good during summer time. I found the post about senko (with 30 seconds wait after drop and then 5 sec wait each time you reel in) extremely helpful and that flipped the switch for me. However I haven't had success with any other baits, and therefore (possibly, any other times but summer. I am happy to get something (fish finder?, although I don't do any deep lakes fishing) if that will help. Really looking for pointers/suggestions. Thanks!
