  1. Good deal! May hafta run up there Sat. morning and fish. Sounds identical to the pattern I have on the fish at Glenn Springs. Thanks for the info, bmadd!
  2. I'll second that!!! Coach Cal said come tournament time, they'll step up and knock down the free throws. So far, so good. How 'bout them "kittens", Burley?
  3. I saw the lake made, loved it for the first 2 or 3 year's, and now I can't stand it, so maybe you can change my mind. I just never care for the crystal clear water. I hear ya on the clear water. I make really long casts to keep from getting right on top of the fish due to the really clear water with flukes and senkos and try to cover alot of water. Actually, I catch 80% of my fish in 2-4 ft of water, year-round. Even in the dead of summer. I fish the thick grass and hardly ever leave it. That helps with the clear water situation because the grass is so thick. exactly how clear is the water? Extremely clear. Visibility down 10-15 feet sometimes. He's not exaggerating at all, either. It's clear. Even after a hard rain and heavy wind, I've hardly ever seen the water with much if any stain to it at all. Way to go Bmadd. I haven't been up to Gibson in awhile. How's the water level situation? What did you guys catch em on?
  4. I didn't see any, partly due to the strong winds churning up the water. I didn't notice any red tails either. This lake is typically gin clear which makes for great sight fishing. We were fishing a huge flat in a cove that is about 3-4 ft. deep, but up close to the bank is where the creek channel ran to the back of the cove. It dropped to about 9.5 ft in the channel. This big flat is where I usually find fish on year after year on beds. The water temp has been on a steady rise for the last 2 weeks now. 2-3 weeks ago it was 49-51 degrees and this past week it has been 58-62 degrees. Fishing has really turned on for me. 4 days before that I fished the same area and caught 12 with 2 going over 5 lbs and one between 3-4. I posted pics of those also in another thread.
  5. Had the pleasure of having Skillet join me in the boat today. We tried to see if we could get blown away in the wind but ended up catching 10 little guys like these below. Fished Glenn Springs lake in West TN. Caught all fish except one, on a crankbait. The other was on a suspending jerkbait. Color didn't matter as long as it resembled a crawdad. We caught fish in about 8-10 ft of water with 3 different crawdad colored cranks. Water temps ranged from 57-61 degrees. Not any hawgs, but alot of fun to catch anyway.
  6. Memphis and NC were the only two teams to go undefeated on the road. Memphis went 5 or 6-0 on neutral courts. Granted they did play most of the tougher opponents at home, but they still won. Do i think they're the greatest in the nation? Probably not. I still think they're pretty darn good regardless. 3 of the "expert analysts" at ESPN has them with the no.1 Non-Conference SOS. I guess we'll just have to sit back and watch. Apparently some people think they're good to have them ranked where they were in the pre-season and where they've been all year. Nobody gives em any credit, but it's all good.
  7. Laugh at ESPN, they're the ones who gave the stat.
  8. That's my favorite place on the lake and where I spend 75% of my time. Even in the dead of summer. I believe I'm gonna use me a vacation day tomorrow and fish ahead of this front. Conditions are identical to the way they were last friday ahead of the front.
  9. I talked to a guy Friday who said he could catch them by the dozens with no problem, but they had no size to them.
  10. I agree that Memphis could be in trouble with their free-throw shooting. They can't help the weak conference schedule, though. That's why they try to schedule such a tough non-conference schedule as they did this year. They had the toughest non-conference schedule in the country. They beat Oklahoma, UConn, Arizona, USC, Gonzaga, and Georgetown. I think 10 of their 16 non-conference opponents made the tourny. They avg 79.9 points per game and opponents avg 60.7, for a diff of about 19 ppg. Just think how much larger of a deficit that would be if they could hit their free-throws. GO TIGERS!

  12. Just give me a holler. I met one of the members on here named Skillet and took him out there and we nailed em. If I remember correctly, we caught about 25 in an afternoon trip from about 3 p.m. til dark in May last year.
  13. Anytime man. I absolutely love Glenn Springs. I took Skillet out there last year and we slayed em. I spend probably 75-100 days a year on that lake. I just about know every nook and cranny in that lake.
  14. Gotta be my favrite lake by far. I've fished it probably 3-4 days a week for the last 3-4 years now. It was real windy last friday, also. The pic in my avatar is from Glenn Springs. I've got several pics of 4-5 lbers that I caught last year out of GS.
  15. Length: 24" Girth: 14.75" Weight: 8 lbs 4 ozs. Caught flippin a 4 inch Texas rigged (1/8 oz. pegged) Watermelon seed lizard around Cypress trees and blowdowns in a farm pond in West TN the first week in March back in 2005.
  16. I was off work Fri, so i hooked up and headed to Glenn Springs with the wife and son. Fished from about 1 p.m. til dark and caught 12. Here's a few pics. I went back Sat. and caught 9, but the size went way down since that front passed through. Water temps were about 55-57 degrees and I caught all these fish on a spring craw/yellowbelly Bandit 200 series crankbait in creek channels in 6-10 ft of water in the backs of coves where the fish usually spawn. I was sitting in 3-5 ft of water and running the crankbait slow and steady, following the channel and nailin em. Some of these pics had the same fish in it. I had a 5.5 lber, a 4.25, and a 3.75 as my biggest and the rest were mostly slot fish that were anywhere from 14-16 inches and went about 2 lbs. a piece.
  17. I really like the Beech Lakes. We had a tourny there last Sun. and winning weight was 18 lbs. It usually takes 20 or better in a sack to win out there. I LOVE Glenn Springs and Gibson Co Lake. Never been to Graham. I fish Pickwick a good bit, but haven't been this year. I spend about 3-4 days a week on Glenn Springs in the evenings after work.
