  1. Honest, realiable and reasonabe. My reel is better than new. Now got to figure out how to explain to my wife that those four new six week old reels need cleaned and updated. ;D
  2. Ebay seller simmonssportinggoods Bought three from them at $149 apiece then received the store register sales ticket and received $50 rebate per reel. After rebate each reel was less than $110 each. You have to do your own rebate forms that you receive with the reel and mail it in yourself. Received my reels in 48 hours. These are honest and reliable family people been in buisness since the mid 70's.
  3. Hope my wife don't see this stuff about two rods. Just told her today I needed to replace two.
  4. Purchased three Curado 100's from Simmons Sporting Goods on Ebay for $149 each plus shipping of $12 total. Then there is a $50 rebate for each reel. Fished with them first time today and they are smooth.
  5. That's true but a hug will go a long way. Was at Simmons Monday and it is packed wall to wall with fishing and hunting supplies. Customers were wall to wall also so just grabed reels and left. Bait monkey will hit after 1 st of year and will go back.
  6. Where does the line form? ;D

As always NICE! Like the one on far right especially!
  8. There is a Ebay site simmonssportinggoods that has excellent prices. I live within 45 minutes of it and shop there quite often. They are honest people that will go out of their way to help. I just bought three shimano curado 100's there and after the rebate cost $110. apeice. Their have been in business since the 70's so doing something right. Just my 2 cents worth.
  9. Nice! Was that price before or after rebate?
  10. Have four 10 bearing Pinnacles. Been decent reels for the money with not problems other than noise. You can buy a Curado for a $100 bucks after rebate.
  11. Thanks for input. I was thinking that direction just needing another thought. Have a curado reel and use it constantly. Sending it to reel mechanic for cleaning/repair and rest of reels will be used as back up only. Buying three of them and will use rebate to buy another reel. Dang baitmonkey!! ;D
  12. OK I need some advise/help/input on what to buy. Looking at Shimano Curado's. The new 200's only come in 5.0:1 or 7.0:1. The 300's are 6.2:1 but weight in close to 10.5 ounces. I really wanted a 6.2:1 (3 of them) as a medium sized crankbait reel. The cost of them are the 100 dpv at $149. the 200 dpv/dhsv at $149. and the 300 dsv at $179. and each reel will receive a $50 rebate. Concern is the size of Shimano's new reels.
  13. Shimano has a $50 rebate on Curado/Citica/Cruxis reels till April 30 2008. Baitmonkey will be at my door with three new Curado's. Found them close to home for $149 plus tax with rebate makes them about $117 each. ;D
  14. Have three Pinnacle 10 bearing reels. Had four but one went swimming. Used them now for four years baitcasting and spinner baits. Not a problem at all with them. For $64.95 plus tax I will but them again. Use a Shimano Curado for top water and Shimano Castaic for flippin.
  15. How about alligator clips, crimped on 10 gauge solid wire, with holes drilled in 2x4 to hold wire upright. Works O.K. for me.
  16. I use the square bill in heavy laydowns and rocks. Anywhere it can deflect and bounce off of cover. Use traps for search lure and when shad are being fed on. Noticed you were from Al. I fish Neely, Logan Martin abd Guntersville. Good Luck!
  17. Texas rigged with 1/8 ounce tunsten. I use the Venom with salt. Like the way they make the legs, solid and flutter on way down better than Zoom.
  18. Finish is fairly good. Long ways to go on painting. Trying to learn and Lowe's is going to run out of 1/2" pvc. ;D
  19. That's what I was doing but didn't know if there was a better way. Thanks for info.
  20. What and how have you guys found to be the best way to put the Devon two ton on with. Any hints to get the best finish would be greatly welcome. Thanks!
  21. That's the reason I want to paint. Can'i seem to get colors that I think will work well on lakes that I fish. Will probably let my cousin I fish with have some lures (after I screw up a lot). And to get out of sight of wife so honey-do list may not be so long.
  22. I have another question. Where is the best place to buy the unpainted/painted lures. I have all the equipment ordered you guys recommended or have purchased locally. So far have only been able to find one dealer online for ubpainted crankbaits. Thanks again!

    Nice! Very nice.
  24. What airbrush do you recommend, and where is the best place to order the paints and lures from. Thought I would pratice on some 3/4 pvc pipe. Thanks!
  25. Thanks for the info. I will get online and find these. Winter coming up and will have something to learn. Thanks again!
