I'm pretty loyal to Zoom. I just really like them!
  2. Renting is a waste of money! By 34 I had our home paid for (bought it when I was 19!). Your home is really your biggest investment.

There's a lot of sick people in this world! :-/
  4. April and May are usually the best times for me as far as numbers go.
  5. I think that pretty much sums it up! 8-)
  6. Welcome aboard! Nice Bass BTW.
  7. As in North Carolina? Just curious... I fished that lake many times.

    Nice Bass!
  9. Man, it sure is cloudy where you fish! :-?
  10. About a year ago I loaded up and got to the lake and proceeded to put in the plug when suddenly I could not find the blasted thing! I had to go all the way to town and pick up a plug and then drive back. About a month ago I was cleaning the boat and the plug magically reappeared! Now I have 2. :-?
  11. Wow! Nice Spec! That's a neat looking pond you're fishing too!

    Looks like a real fatty!
  13. I haven't fished it in a couple months. If anyone has fished it... has the bite picked up? It was pretty slow.
  14. It's called Fish Hook. The have a LOT of lakes... Lk 2, Lk 3, Lk 4, Lk 5, Lk A, Lk B, Lk C, Lk F, Lk G, Shop Lk, Hydrilla Lk, Picnic Lk, Derby Lk, Fish Hook Lk, Legs Lk, Horse Show Lk, Half Moon Lk, Butterfly Lk, Lost Lk East, Lost Lk West, Cemetery Lk... A few that aren't open to the public and I may have missed a few... I tried to go by memory!
  15. Yep, me too but never on a 5" Senko, Swimming or the original :-?. Dan Neither have I. That's a nice one for sure! Have you ever tried fishing that pond with light spinning tackle and small jigs? I bet it would be a blast!
  16. Nice one! I've caught some big ones on plastic worms, top waters and even spinnerbaits.
  17. I've had both. I still prefer a hand controlled motor. I use an extension and have a foot controlled on/off button. And yes, it's a flats boat with a Great White 82# on it.
  18. A small change like that won't really affect anything. The winter cold fronts are what really shuts them down! I'm hoping the rains will bring Fish Hook back up enough for me to put in my boat. I'm curious as to how the bite is after your bad report. One thing is for sure.... that lake holds some BIG fish! Pits are great on windy days... especially the ones like Lk5 that are surrounded by walls of dirt, brush and trees!
  19. Has any of the tip been broken off or do you simply want to replace it? I'm not sure what size it is, but I would guess it to be a 5-6 tip. I'm sure someone who builds on that blank will know and hopefully chime in.
  20. I agree. There's a lot to learn with building rods.
  21. Well, I'm probably one of the few rod builders on this site who doesn't like them. I mean, they look good and all, but I'm old school and like the feel of the cork better. I'm not too worried about the amount of weight that will be saved. To each their own. It's all personal preference in the end. My rods are as sensitive as any I've ever used, so I don't need anything more. I have no trouble what soever feeling a lite bite. That being said... the split grips are nice, but just not for me. I do however, like them on a spinning rod! It's all in how I probably hold the rod. I don't buy the increased hook setting and better casting part of it though. Casting distance has more to do with guide placement, guides and rod actions. I think you can get more hook setting power with a full grip. JMO though.
  22. Looks like you had fun!
