I love the smell of powerbait in the morning
Smells like....victory And a bit like vinegar. Anyone ever able to pin down what the scent of powerbait is?

Lure colors
I throw in an oddball color here and there just to have something new, but I honestly don't think bass care much other than light or dark. I think we give bass WAY too much credit for their level of intelligence

Line suggestions for a Revros 2000 spinning reel
Best mono options in my opinion: Berkley Sensation or Trilene Big Game, both in 8lb test. Braid: sufix ProMix 10lb test. I never use leaders.

Lure colors
I know it's maybe controversial, but it seems like a few lure companies, especially zoom and yum, have 75+ colors in their lineup. Ive always been of the school of thought that mostly, it doesn't matter. I have dark colored lures and light/translucent colored lures. For dark, I always go either bama bug or junebug or black with blue flake. Light colors, I go green pumpkin or watermelon seed. My swimbaits, etc are always shad colored. That's pretty much it. I don't see the need for 35 different shades of blue.

Chatterbait & Crankbait Setup
I use an Abu Garcia SilverMax combo for chatterbaits. 7', MH, Fast. I don't really use crankbaits at all.

A-Rig Question
I use 3" keitech easy shiners on the top two, and 4" keitech swibaits on the middle and bottom, all on owner 1/8oz belly weighted hooks. As stated, throw out, let it sink, steady retrieve.

My fiance posed a VERY interesting question:
Trilene big game is my "standard" fishing line. I tried just about all the braids. The super slick was rougher than the ProMix is and much noisier too. Plus...it faded pretty fast. To each his own, but we DO agree that Big Game is probably the best value/performance for the money on the market. XL is more limp, and Sensation is more sensitive, but Big Game is acceptable in both, and like 1/5th the cost. However, NOTHING is tougher. I catfish with 20lb test big game in coastal brown. I pulled in multiple 40+ lb catfish on that line. Big Game never lets you down when it counts!

The inurig. Winner or loser?
I caught three on the same lure using a Zoom trick worm in green pumpkin blue flash. Thing is: I can always catch 5-6 at that spot no problem. No difference between it and a wacky rig imo, except it takes longer to rig. That's why I always test stuff before I make a video about it.

My fiance posed a VERY interesting question:
Super slick V2 is garbage imo. Sufix ProMix is WAY better.

The inurig. Winner or loser?
Tried em today...the action is awkward to fish tbh. I don't see the advantage over a wacky rig. Did I catch any? Yes. Did I catch more than usual? No.

Fishing the Texas Rig in Fall
I'm a soft plastics/finesse fisherman 99% of the time year 'round. In the fall, I've found them to be a bit "scattered", but will occasionally find them stacked up. My go-to is a green pumpkin goby big TRD with a 3/16th weight glued to the bottom, and a 1/0 worm hook on the other end. If there are fish there, they'll bite it 90% of the time in my experience. They just can't seem to stand it the way it stands upright and wriggles.

Bass Recipes
Blackened bass/catfish/panfish is quickly becoming my favorite way to eat them since I try to limit how much fried stuff I eat. Tony Chachere's Spice n Herbs is THE best. Put a good dusting on both sides Hot black iron skillet, a spray of olive oil, heat until smoking hot. Cook the fish until just before the seasonings burn. Flip and repeat. This recipe is Cajun approved! P.S. in my opinion, bream is better. I only keep bass if they're gill hooked.

Short Arm Spinnerbaits
Just out of curiosity, why do they close the lakes to fishermen?

New Tremor Blade
Very nice! I'll be ordering a few this Friday in bama bug color. Just gotta go find a good trailer for it.

High End Gear
I hear you. I loooove my Veritas PLX rods. They're $165. My next rods will be $189. The problem with "high end gear" in my experiences is the law of diminishing returns. When you upgrade from low to mid grade, there's a HUGE difference in performance. When you move from mid to high end, the differences are much smaller than the price gap. I tend to hover in the "upper middle end" of the spectrum, where I feel you get the best value for performance.

Texas rig: pegged or free weight
Owner makes one.

The inurig. Winner or loser?
Thanks for the info! I dunno about the FG thing either...I used the coffee straws. Going to test it tomorrow, but my "hunch" is similar to yours: wacky rig probably accomplished the same thing.
-
The inurig. Winner or loser?
First one took me about 5-6 minutes. Second probably 2-3 minutes. The durability is the big question for me too.
-
The inurig. Winner or loser?
So, I took the time to rig up two of these to give it a shot. Anyone used one and care to give your thoughts?

Tournament entitlement?
If I'm there fishing first, I'm not moving whether in the kayak or boat. Crowd me, and I'll start casting over your line.

Welcome, and keep on trying!

My fiance posed a VERY interesting question:
Trilene big game is my "standard" line. I just thought it was an interesting postulation, as you CAN buy braided Dacron sewing thread.

I found out how some guys are casting 100 yards

Hi my name is CrashVector and I'm a tackleholic
They definitely don't usually have the colors of lures I want, like sprayed grass.
