just wondering if anyone has fished a lucky craft crankbait and got a better result then any other crank bait such as: rapala, bomber, strike king etc.. i never tried any other crank bait but rapala and bomber so just wonderin if im missing out on other brands.
  2. thanks alot for that info. im still very new to bass fishing Im real good at catfishing, trouting, saltwater fishing, thers not much sport fishing here in california. But since i tried bass fishing i been hooked, but i did notice its the most expensive fishing i have ever done. u got the link for that bps rod? cuz i see a few here.
  3. i use braid just because i feel the bite alot more. i also get better hooksets, it takes effect also when your fishing alot of structure. I do use it with fluoro leader but like u said everybody has their own use. i do alot of saltwater fishing so it comes in handy there alot too since i use some of my baitcasting reels in saltwater.
  4. hey thanks for the info. when i went to a shop they wanted to sell me the crucial i know its real good but is it worth putting it on a sedonna? i have used the clarus also but the crucial is a true drop shotting rod. uh ill buy off u but u know i think i should save instead and get the crucial. what size?
  5. i need a rod to drop shot, im looking to spend no more then 60 since its my first time tryint the drop shot method. I have a sedonna 1500 just need the rod.
  6. 6# sufix siege, very very strong, very low memory, very smooth. youll love it
  7. if you dont mind you can find it on ebay, i got mine on ebay brand new for only 159. U can also use the corvalus 400 its like 79.99 i believe. i know its not the best reel but it really does work well. i bet your enjoying that calcutta, can u feel the power it has? i use mine in saltwater and i love it.
  8. Yep like RecMar said, i use sufix braid and i just slightly set the hook and i always hook em with no problem, when throwing mono or fluoro leader i always have to add more strength to se the hook. works the same for me on 6'6" or 7'
  9. maybe online but the ones in the store dont allow u. If you read it you can see it excludes shimano and penn. I dont know about online i never buy anything there. But i do know that online they dont have the same inventory as the store.
  10. isnt it the same discount? i get 25% off anything in the store. and the coupon does exclude all the good stuff especially for fishing u cant get it off shimano and penn which is the top brand for that company. I work the outdoor department so i get to spool line for free on all my reels. The best line we get there is p-line fluoroclear
  11. yea sufix braid it says right on the box that 50# is 12 lb diam. but i know that alot of fluro runs thinner too. suggestions on good fluoro brands?
  12. what # fluoro leader is good for 50# (12lb) sufix braid?
  13. haha thats funny cuz i work there. never thought my store would be on this forum.
  14. since the rod topic came up When using texas rigs or crankbaits what size rod would be good? Medium, Medium heavy? Fast? Extra Fast? I have a 6' 6" shimano carbomax M casting rod. Is this good enough or am i fishing the wrong rod?
  15. Thats the same reason why i didnt want to use fluoro again. I had vanish on my baitcasting reel and mostly every cast would give me a minor backlash. Now i know it wasnt just me.
  16. i have the trion but see i said i like my curado better because i got them for about the same price. The reason is because i work for a sporting good store and our fishing vendor is a good friend of mine and he gives me his catalog so i can get it at his price. Dont get me wrong the trion is great for the price and alot of people own it. But in my situation the curado came at a nice price.
  17. check the centrifugal brakes
  18. I have that same exact reel, to be honest i like my new curado better.
  19. so in other words it doesnt really matter which one of the 2 you use then huh. Is 50# braid too much? should i use something around 20 or 30#?
  20. I know people have discussed this various number of times but i never got a clear answer to this question. Can anyone give me their opinion? Thanks My question is I have 50# sufix braid, what would be better a mono leader or fluoro? and what #? To add more info i will say that i usually fish clear water about 5-40 ft. But i will be using this set up alot.
  21. ok i see, i got 50# braid fish about 15-30 ft of clear water, mono or fluoro?
  22. tangerine huh? seen it but always wondered y use such a bright color i fish mostly clear water so i was thinking if clear would do or green
  23. It's very simple to do it yourself. Just tie a clinch knot onto the spool and make sure the bale is open. Once you tie the knot onto your spool close the bale. Leave your bulk line on the floor and then start reeling your reel. (i recommend you hold your line by the first eye of the rod so the line can go on tight.) its simple, its free, and it can be fun Good Luck
  24. what rod would u recommend for drop shotting? I have an extra shimano sedona 1500, i just need a rod to drop shot but i dont want to spend too much money on it.
