Going to St Clair Saturday
I haven't fished near the firecracker yet this year. My brothers are out right now and they are saying it is really muddy. If you are going to fish south on sat. I would try windmil pt. and the delphine chan. But if the water doesnt clean up it may be tough fishing. I think I am going to give the bay a try since I haven't fished it yet this year but if it is muddy then I am going to move. Good luck Jenga

LSC Smallies on Fire
I was there on Thursday this week. I took out some friends who never caught a smallie in their life and wanted to get them on the fish. So I brought some golden shiners, we caught 26 in four hours. My brother was there on tue. and caught 26 by himself in 4hrs. It is a fantastic fishery. We caught a lot on tubes (gold copper with purple flake), minnows and jerkbaits (LC pointer ghost and pearl). With this new moon on Thursday it should really heat up. Jenga

water in fuel
I have a water seperator on my boat and don't know if I metioned it but the boat is a 93. I would think that the vent would have a check valve. Is this a common thing to have on the fuel vent. I know it is not bad gas and there was a ton of water in my gas tank. I was fishing in 3 footers on lake st. clair, which is normaly where I fish. I need to figure something out so this doesn't happen again. Thanks, Jenga

water in fuel
Fishfordollars, I know it is not bad gas. I use treatment all the time plus I just put in 10 gallons of gas. I only put gas in that I know I will use for the day. I have a water seperator on my boat. My mechanic metioned about putting a loop in the vent and putting new gaskets on the gas cap. Thanks for the advice. Jenga

water in fuel
Had major problems on opening day--Can you believe the bass gods would curse me like that? Fished for only about 2 hours at most before engine would not run. Eventually made it back to launch-thanks to trolling motor. North Bay marine pumped some serious water out of our fuel. We are not sure if it is coming in through the gas fill cap area or through the vent. We have a 93 skeeter 200dx. Anyone else have a similar situation? The gas fill cap is above transom on back--how stupid was the boat builder that designed that? Why not make it so the gas fill spot is located along sides of boat. The vents are on the side but it seems to me that waves could still hit it and water could be running down the vent line too. Need to figure out something to modify this. I suggest to NB marine to just reroute the vent line to into the boat somewhere. Doug said not a good idea with gas fumes into the boat. I told him I really don't care where it vents but I need it somewhere water won't get into easily. Anyone else out there with a skeeter have any ideas? Brand new gas today so I know it wasn't ethenol. Thanks, Jenga

Flukes
Ok now we know how to rig the fluke how do we fish the fluke. I am new to using a fluke but thought it should be fished like a jerkbait. Is this true or do you reel and give a few twitches like one would with a crankbait. Thanks for the advice. Jenga

Blown Power-Head
Why would anyone pay 15k for a new motor on a 93 boat that is only worth 5k. Replace power head for 5k and save extra the 10 you would of spent. Jenga

Blown Power-Head
I feel your pain man. I had my motor sieze up due to lack of oil because the oil injector broke. 2 months after I bought it. I put in a brand new power head and disabled the oil injection. I spent 6k to fix but now it runs perfectly and it is like a brand new motor. I also thought about buying a used motor but decided against cuz then you still don't know what you are getting. I would also look into seeing if your insurance would cover it mine did. If I were you I would replace but try to use some of the parts off broken motor. Like the regulators. Also if you pay cash many times you can get it cheaper. I am sorry this happened to you I know what it feels like. Try to find a great mechanic. Jenga

Drift Anchor
I use it all the time on Lk. St. Clair. Get a 6ft rope and tie it to the drift sock then tie the rope to the boat. They will slow your drift down really well. Jenga

Lake Erie Bass Islands Early Season Smallies
I have never fished for smallies near bass Islands but I fish Lk. St. Clair all the time. I have also fished Lk. Erie but in PA. I don't know when you can fish for bass in Ohio but I would go when you see the water temps in the mid 50's the smallies will be in their spawning stage and should be easy to get into. I like to throw LC pointers, xraps, tubes, cranks and spinnerbaits. One of those lures should catch you fish during that time. Hope you have fun. Good Luck, Jenga

first time using floro
I have 2 rods one baitcaster and one spinning. I usually use a snap swivle so I can change lures quickly. I want to use floro but I know that it dosn't hold its knot strength very well. What knot should I use and should I use a snap swivle or not. Thanks, Jenga

What to use to clean my boat
I have a fiberglass boat and I live on a dirt road. I would like to know how and what to use to clean my boat. Should I take it to a power washer or just use my hose and dish soap. Also can you tell me what kind of wax I should use and how to clean my prop. Thanks, Jenga

Regulators
What if I bought an on board marine charger would it be ok for me to still use my old regulators and if the starter bat doesn't get a full charge from the engine then my charger will do it. Or should I just replace the regulators and the onboard marine charger. thanks, Jenga
