  1. I owe you a beer or three. The discount should have come off at the receipt for those for me. A quick live chat and he's going to push the refund through. That's nearly $50 you just saved me. I wish they didn't do it that way. If the discount had applied in my cart I probably would have gone with the expride B for an extra (prediscount) $60. I'm not sad about the zodias by any stretch and I'm sure its perfect for me. But I'm a sucker for a sale so I probably would have done it anyway.
  2. weird. I did the same. Added the coupon to my cart, added all of my items, checked out. I'll start up a chat with them. edit- Live chat is temprarily disabled.
  3. I did. My order is already on a FEDEX truck and the prices/notes I was talking about above were from my emailed order recipt. rick
  4. I think there are a couple with furnace in the name but all smaller (they were water supplies for old furnaces). if you get up this way shoot me a note. I’m ~30 minutes to furnace, spruce, and round valley. I’m even closer to the lakes just off 80.
  5. check the model but I think that’s 25% off the equivalent usdm on tw. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082362HVX/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_5?smid=A234K9HZIAX82Z&th=1
  6. Not sure which one you’re looking at but the jdm zillions are only $211 on Amazon. I prefer shimanos but I’m contemplating another zillion at that price. positive. Some were already marked down 20% before the sale (some zodiac casting for example) but the zodiac spinning and expired b spinning didn’t change before and after the sale. And everything in my cart showed the clear discount except the rod and mag draft.
  7. My inlaws house (described in the 'its clear' thread above) is a small one with lots of exposed beams. My FIL built it from an old hunting cabin with a bunch of his buddies back in 1981 or so. Its inthe middle of the woods so he gets plenty of mice every year. We were living abroad and would come home to stay with them over christmas and new years. It seemed like every year we'd get home, go upstairs to my wife's old bedroom, and there would be a smell. I know you know the one. My FIL would set traps and forget that he had set them. He didn't go upstairs much so he'd forget to check. That bedroom had a little under the eaves type closet and there was always one, sometimes two, dessicated in a trap. Never failed.
  8. heck, my order is already picked and a label printed from this morning! Sorry you guys are having trouble. I might have it all by the end of the week. Shame the water is in that dreaded 'other' state of matter right now.
  9. That they did. And I proved it too.
  10. Also went down that path once. When I was a baby/toddler I had polyps in my intestines so the doctor recommended that I get a colonoscopy after turning 30. I think I finally got it done 6 or 7 years ago when we were home from the UK for a week. All clear. The worst part was the prep. We were staying with my inlaws. The house only had one bathroom and it was right next to the living room/dining room table/kitchen as the first floor was all one small open plan...
  11. And for reference, I can confirm that Shimano rods and Magdrafts are excluded. The zodias spinning rod I sent back was supposed to be replaced, but they gave me store credit so I waited until this sale to reorder. One of the associates on the chat said they would be part of the sale so... They were not part of the sale. Also, their website is struggling (presumably with traffic) all morning.
  12. This was kinda my question on sizes across different manufacturers. The eagle claws I have here are sz 3 and are 1/4" on the note OD. That's small for treble hooks, but maybe that's because they are a lighter wire than normal. I just checked a KVD300 JB and the OD is a speck under 1/4" so that's probably right. I have a couple hardbaits with bigger (choppo 110's for sure). I don't think I have any with smaller, but I need the smaller ones for something a little different. Also, thanks Monkey. I was going to grab two magdrafts (shad and perch) to try out, but they weren't on sale. So the perch one went away and the elite 300 pro phantom perch found its way into my cart. Sugar daddy was good to me last year so we're going to go a little more muted version of it and see how that goes.
  13. I got an email code this morning via email. Its a click through link to activate. I haven't done it yet (was just about to). rick
  14. I considered buying that rod from you. I have the 6-17 model in the Bucoo SR and the Expert. I loved the Bucoo- true heavy power and fast-ish action for throwing big moving baits like 1/2 oz blade baits and 110 ploppers. I thought the expert would be more of the same in a lighter blank and more responsive. I was wrong. The expert is a true moderate action. Great for big crankbaits or if you like a moderate action for chatterbaits. When people talk about fiberglass chatterbait rods this is the rod I'd substitue. Alas, i use my head turner for most of those things now and the heavy cover jig for the rest.
  15. I can't wait to see the first big brown trout with these new SK perch in its mouth. I'll grab some 2, 3, and 4's. I need some really small ones for a thing and or $4 why not.
  16. I have a couple falcons and I like them a lot. The finesse jig/topwater was the first from the Expert and Cara series that I bought. I had 3 Bucoo SR before that. I fished it a ton the first two years. Its trailed off for me a little because we get grass really thick here starting in May (and some places even before) and I want just a little heavier. For rocky lakes and rivers and what you're talking about its fantastic.
  17. For you guys who use different makes of split rings, do you find the sizes relatively consistent across brands? I need to pick some up for a couple different uses and the only size comparison I have here is Eagle claws in a 3. They are small (which I need some of) but they are light wire and 'flexy' (which I want none of). nah, those won't catch fish. No way. You need more bone and clown finishes.
  18. That's my Falcon topwater/finesse jig rod. 6'10", MH/F, 1/4-3/4 (or 1/4-5/8 in the Cara and lowrider lineup). For 1/4 and 3/8 bladed baits that's the one I throw. If I'm throwing 3/8 and 1/2 then I go to the bigger brother in the head turner. I bought the topwater/finesse jig for the things you're talking about initially- primarily a topwater smallmouth rod for 1/2 oz walking baits. After using it for that I started exploring what else it excelled at and it does work on lighter blade baits, 110 sized jerk baits, finesse jigs and lighter swim jigs, and the occasional keitech 3-4" swimbait depending what rods I have with me. It's also a pretty light rod in physical weight.
  19. Not sure how big your little people or or your truck bed is, but a 1442 jon boat (or maybe 1448 if its light enough to handle) is probably your best bet. A 1242 would be okay if your little people are 3-5 years old, but much bigger than that and you're going to be tight.
  20. If you mean Oxford furnace it’s pretty close. It isn’t close enough if you were running at speed with a big motor but since it’s electric only you’ll see where it shallows up in real life that’s not on the map. I fish Oxford furnace a half dozen times a year since it’s only 30 minutes for me.
  21. Just got in a little bit ago. We sat the afternoon from about 130 in a blind my buddy has on a little property. He’d had a bunch of deer coming through and sure enough they were there when we pulled in. They spooked off and about an hour later the two small ones came back. I wasn’t shooting little ones so we let them walk. Around 4:45 some more came back with two big does. The first big one came straight in and didn’t give a shot but the other came in a couple minutes later. She eventually turned broadside and gave me a shot. I put it right behind the shoulder, in-line with the leg and about 1/3 up the body. My buddy was filming from his phone and I grabbed a snap from the video. This is the frame as the arrow disappeared in the shoulder and the white spot is my fletching. Surprisingly, she ran 50 yards and stood there for 5 minutes. We thought she’d fall over but after five minutes she walked off. We looked at the video and decided to give her a half hour just in case. She ended up going about 125 yards with a hole across her heart. I didn’t touch lung that I could find while gutting her but it was clear that I hit the back of the heart with two broad head imprints on the sides. From the hit site I wouldn’t have thought that but that’s where we were. Either way, she’s in the bed of the truck. Probably my last this year but who knows.
  22. We got 8” last week. Another 4” yesterday. Some more dustings here and there. It’s not a lot of depth but my driveway is 120’ and has a 30’x60’ pad on the end. It’s also concrete pavers so sliding a shovel along it is a real pain. I’ve used the blower 4 times now I think to keep it clean. Two stage craftsman I picked up on marketplace three years ago. Best $250 ever spent. 24” opening and 9 or 10 hp. rick
  23. You can check navionics online for the likes of interest. Load it up on your phone browser and compare to what you see on the ground. for spruce run navionics is pretty close. For round valley nothing I’ll be close unless you can depth offset because it’s still 25’ low or more last I checked. Other lakes around will vary.
  24. I’ve got a bunch of old and new. I love the razor blades from SK if you need that. But if you just want to stock up with great stuff Siebert is a great choice.
  25. I hadn't heard of iwader until just now but those look pretty cool. I would definitely try on a pair if I were buying new waders. Are both the inner and outer layer stretchy with a waterproof mid-layer? I like the pocket design. Normally I wear a patagonia wading jacket on top and then my filson strap vest. Sometimes I only need the chest pockets on the jacket and these waders would eliminate the need for that if it isn't raining. They look BIG.
