  1. I loved bow hunting because it allowed be to get so close to game before even thinking about shooting. I used bare recurve and longbows as I never could get used to those compounds since I shot totally instinctive. That demyelinating disease finished that, as my left arms nerves will burn and my arm will collapse even though I am holding the bow with the left and drawing with my right. Sitting in the cold is hard, I understand. The cold does not bother me as much despite growing up in the Deep South. I have hunter elk when the temperature was down to 10 to 15 below zero and helped make sure the elk stayed put in the 4X4 on the way back to camp by riding in the back of the open bed with the elk but it had warmed up to about zero by then. Some people are more affected by cold just like some are more recoil shy than others. I have seen big men that could not handle a .30-06 and small women that handle and shoot .338 and .375 Magnums with no problems. Mostly I hunted public land but did not start hunting until I stopped seeing other people. During my last elk hunt in Wyoming during the two weeks we were there my wife and I only met two other people and saw a pack string with four hunters and a guide about a quarter mile off once as they passed. I started hunting like that because I have seen too many hunters that should never leave their city life for the woods. One of these types shot and killed my horse because he thought it was a deer when I was a boy in Arkansas. In Wyoming, I was shot at by some of these great white hunters even though I was standing in the open with blaze orange on and waving my arms to identify myself; so I retreated deep into the wilderness where that type will not go. They were road hunters driving around and shooting at anything that moved. Yes, their method was illegal, but game wardens can't be everywhere. Hunting is a great tradition which is just as noble today as it was when our forefathers set foot on the shores on this land however it is up to each individual hunter to keep it that way by the actions they choose to take in the field. When you see others violating the law don't just shake your head; get a license plate number, take notes and descriptions of actions and turn that over to Game Wardens. The life you may be protecting may be your own or a child's playing unseen in their yard that such uncaring criminals harm next time.
  2. Sam, I have not hunted game animals in a long time myself, actually not since I moved out of Wyoming. I grew up in the woods of Arkansas. If you don't mind answering the question; how did you hunt that you found it boring? I ask because when I hunted I tracked animals year round to learn their patterns and when a lot younger I actually hunted deer down by their tracks. I found tracking tons of fun because I could always find sign of different animals and spending time in field observation of animals was for me a joy. By the time hunting season came I knew the animal I had chosen's daily habits and routine quite well. I may hunt again if I find someone that I can share the hunt with as I have never been about having to kill, all into the hunt as in stalking close, then slipping away undetected and the enjoying the experience to the fullest. I chose only to take mature animals and then only under my personal limitations. We all set our own standards be it fishing or hunting. Unlike my father, I approached fishing as a hunter because I was a hunter first. So I hunt fish as I would a deer, elk, or bear. Some fish tend to be more solitary and some prefer groups, food preferences, terrain preferences, etc. just as different game animals so understanding these behaviors makes one better able to predict where to locate the game you seek.
  3. I was a whitewater guide on the Spring River in north Arkansas in rafts, canoes, and kayaks as I owned and operated a resort. It is loads of fun however you need to respect Mother Nature because she can be very unforgiving to those who try to ignore her. If you are ever near north Arkansas give the Spring River a try. While I have moved to lake Lake Bull Shoals the river is still there and during the spring and fall the "South Fork of the Spring River" (the warm water branch of the river) offers some great Smallmouth fishing. While the main river offers whitewater with class II and III rapids and waterfalls with trout. walleye, and some smallmouth in the lower sections where the water is warmer. The fishing and whitewater are better in the spring or later in the fall after the fall rains start by the way. Avoid summer due to lower water, two many other people on the water, and too many fish with lock jaw. ;D Also in the very upper reaches of the Spring River there some of these critters for those that dare. A 23.12 pound Tiger Muskie (not the one shown here but this fish is similar in size) was taken in the Spring River. It made the Fresh Water Hall of Fame as an All-Tackle World Record South Fork of Spring River This warm tributary of the Spring River begins near the town of Moko on the Arkansas/Missouri border in Fulton County. It flows about 40 miles through eastern Ozark hill country, pasture land, and oak-hickory forests. It is a gravel bottom stream with some silty areas that contains a good smallmouth bass and shadow bass population. Catfish are also stocked annually. There is an AG&FC access area (with boat ramp) in the town of Salem. Other access is afford by low water bridges on county roads and on private property. The best time to float is in the Spring when there is maximum flow. http://southwestpaddler.com/docs/spring5.html http://www.arkansas.com/lakes-rivers/river/id/15/ http://southwestpaddler.com/docs/spring2.html

  5. Hi, Jim, I hope you are felling better. Those doctor visits can get you down but it is good to hear from you. Last year was my year of the doctor so hopefully that will be over for a while now and the same for you. I will remember you in my prayers. We all have to enjoy what we have because there is no grantee of tomorrow at any age in life.
  6. You do realize that everything you eat at one point was a living thing be it plant or animal and there are those that advocate that plants are sentient beings also, so that would pretty much render the total food chain off limits if you take your statements to their logical conclusions. The world is not perfect and whether you realize it or not we all kill living thing each and every day of our existence upon this planet. We can individually choose to try and limit our impact but no one can be perfect. The idea of killing something that was living may not sit well with you however as you survive and grow older and wiser with age you will find that the alternative also has very little appeal (starvation). I do not kill for enjoyment, fun, or even sport but there are times and necessities beyond food that have to be weighed in their totality with all facts considered, a judgment made, and as a result sometimes misjudgments will result. The point is to learn from one's mistakes and to do better as life is about trying to be the best person you can be but no one is perfect and we are all at different levels of understanding. But never lose that feeling of loss when you see a fellow creature die as it will keep your heart tender and connected to all creation as we all should feel loss even when we must kill.
  7. Too many people in today's society unfortunately do not believe as you state in your post. Take for instance California back a few years when the California Game Department wanted to raise the number of licenses for mountain lions due to an increasing number of them nearing overpopulation numbers, the enlightened voters of California voted to ban the hunting of mountain lions all together rather than increase the number taken legally by hunting. There have been a few California residence turned into cat food since that vote and the problem is nearing a critical stage however I believe the voters of California will not see the error of their was until some children are turned into mountain lion food with large headlines and pictures. It is a shame it will take such tragedy to move the adults of a state that thinks they know better than animal experts but the drastic number of dogs, cats turned into mountain lion chow, and even the surge in attacks on adults in California have not moved them so what will it take? Major tragedy is the only thing that will force their eyes to see and their ears to hear but what an unnecessary waste.
  8. ethicaladjective - Being in accordance with the accepted principles of right and wrong that govern the conduct of a profession. The problem is what qualifies as ethical in one social group may be totally unacceptable in another. That is where laws come in so that while different social groups may disagree the law legally trumps social convention. Even in the law, due to vague language there is often leeway for wide latitude of interpretation. Just as in the often heated debate over catch and release things are not always as black and white as they may first appear. Sometimes people do harm though they may have the best of intentions but confrontation is rarely rewarded with a warm reception yet a friend sharing their honest feelings is rarely shunned.
  9. July 4 is always the hardest day of the year for me as it stirs up a lot of emotions from the past that are not pleasant or happy especially during years with the climate the way it is in nation right now. Right after 9/11 for a few years it was easier for me on that day because as a nation we were united but now I have to be by myself again. I know most will not understand this so just celebrate the day for me and enjoy the holiday!

  11. If you are confident in 9mm then by all means carry one. The main difference comes down to a 9mm needs a good hollow point bullet that will reliably open for maximum effectiveness while the .40 and .45 caliber bullets are effective even if the hollow point does not open due to being clogged by clothing or due to some other reason. This argument has been going on since I was young (a long time back) and I doubt will be solved in my lifetime. If you want more information read books by Massad Ayoob which if you carry concealed you should anyway because he is the foremost expert on preparing you for when you may actually have to use that firearm. Two to center mass and one to the head has been know as the Mozambique (also known as the double tap failure drill.) However due to the rounded bone structure of the head the technique I was taught was the modified Mozambique which consists of two rounds center mass and if not effective lower your aim to shatter the hip structure which will anchor your attacker by removing his ability to be mobile. Since the head is a small round bone target prone to have bullets ricochet off of it then it will be far easier to hit if need be to finish the fight with deadly force. This was in case your opponent was wearing body armor but also served the purpose of stopping your opponent from gaining cover from which they could receive protection from your gun fire while firing on you. A gun fight is far more complicated than most people think. A trained individual limits their vulnerabilities to attack by tactics of movements and using common sense; a sort of an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure sort of thing. It may seem paranoid to some but I always look at situations even when choosing a place to sit in a restaurant in a what if way. As the old saying goes the Devil is in the details and it is better to be prepared. I started it working drug suppression in the Army. BY the time I got out of the Army it was second nature and in civilian life it has allowed me to avoid being robbed and murder more than once when I lived in high crime areas. Some people think carrying a gun is cool because they have seen too many movies. Carrying a gun is serious business and no one should do so unless you have the mindset that if necessary you will without hesitation end another's life. That mental state needs to be settled before you ever carry a gun for the first time. If you have not done so you are putting yourself and those around you at greater risk than if you were not carrying at all. Find and take training in self defense with a handgun from a recognized instructor and I am not talking about just your basic concealed carry permit class. If you are serious about defense learn to do it from those who know just like fishing but trial and error has no place in self defense. 12. I am retired but now I am a moderator of an Israeli Military Forum, study anti-terrorism, combat shoot and I fish but not necessarily in that order depending on the weather. ;D : 8-)
  13. GMAN, you did not say if you had looked at the new XD Sub-Compact 3" model it only comes in .40 cal and 9mm. I find it too small for me but it might fit what you are looking for if you have not tried one. http://www.springfield-armory.com/xd.php?version=64Personally I would not go below .40 cal maybe I am an Elmer Keith hold over but from my limited experience in the Army Drug Suppression and having seen the effects of the .45 ACP on humans personally at arm's reach I will stick with bigger is better. My personal preference in .45 ACP right now is a XD Custom with 230grain Federal Hydra-Shok JHPs but then due to my height and size concealment is less of an issue. You may want to consider a fanny pack holster for concealed carry also that would offer more options but if you do buy the best and don't skimp on the price because if you need access to you gun the best will save your life. Access to your concealed carry is important as having to fumble and dig through clothing for it is bad news. The bad guys may look at the fanny pack and wonder if it is a holster it is true but they will not know as most they see are not. The better ones are made with belt loops to secure the pack to you in addition to the normal buckle so that if someone tries to swipe the fanny pack they are out of luck. I hope this helped or at least gave you some ideas. Good luck. P_Rock
  14. Valascus, by your post you show how much you care for your wife and daughter. Being there with such a caring heart will pay great dividends in time. Being such a man is not easy but it is what your family needs and what you are providing. Hold fast and continue on my friend although the all the signs around you seem so dark. You are a good and caring man for your wife and daughter so hold them tenderly in your Love as you continue to search for your path. Seek and you will fill find; knock and it will be opened unto you blessing more abundant than you can measure.
  15. Paris Hilton ordered to LA jail's medical wing Judge Sauer had ordered the hearing for 9 a.m. When Ms. Hilton did not appear, apparently believing that she could participate by telephone, he sent sheriff's deputies to escort her from her home. When she arrived and the hearing began, the judge said he had received a call on Wednesday from an undersheriff informing him that Ms. Hilton had a medical condition and that the sheriff's office would submit papers to the judge to consider releasing her early. The judge said the papers describing a psychological problem had not arrived, and he interrupted Friday's court session every few minutes to state the time and note that the papers had still not shown up. In ordering her return to jail, Judge Sauer said there were adequate medical facilities within the system to deal with Ms. Hilton's problems. Prisoner number 9818783 was put back in a special cell isolated from other inmates amid fears the angry lags could RIOT over her special treatment. Wardens at Paris' first jail - the Century Regional Detention Centre - even ordered a lockdown as prisoners, who thought Paris was released early pretending to be sick to con doctors, threatened a revolt. An insider at the prison in Lynwood, California, said: The women inside the jail are seething. They say if you're a rich white girl you get special treatment. They are furious that while Paris had her own special cell with a panic button, was given better food and was kept away from the general population, she was still released early. There are girls in here with cancer, TB, and with MRSA. They aren't allowed to go home and are treated by prison medical staff. The prisoners think if you're rich and pretend you're sick you can get away with murder. Many of the girls have been locked down in their cells all day because they are so furious. The jail is full of screams about Paris. Prison bosses fear this could simmer over into violence. Jail insiders said Paris had sobbed herself to sleep every night. She was heard repeatedly complaining she was cold and that she was hungry because she couldn't eat the prison food. But once back at her luxury home, Paris celebrated by inviting her family round. A pal said she had sent her assistant shopping and arranged for her make-up artist to visit. The pal said: It's so cruel what has happened to her. She wasn't allowed to wax or use a moisturiser. Her skin is so dry right now. Paris Hilton was so terrified guards would snap a cell-phone picture of her on the toilet that she didn't eat or drink for three days. The stainless steel lavatory in the hotel heiress' 12-foot-by-8-foot cell was in plain view of a large window in the door, which guards could look through 24 hours a day. "She was absolutely terrified that one of the guards or staffers would get her with the cell-phone cam and it would wind up on the Internet," a Hilton insider said yesterday. "She didn't eat or drink a single thing for three days because she didn't want to use the toilet. Baca suggested Hilton was on suicide watch last night, saying she would be kept under close scrutiny to ensure "there isn't anything harmful done to herself by herself, which is a great concern to me." Baca said Friday that Hilton's "psychological problems" were worsened by the fact that she was not getting a "particular medication" she normally takes. In a room by herself in the medical ward of the Twin Towers detention center, Hilton is crying and praying, and is extremely withdrawn, according to TMZ. A sergeant stands at her door at all times. She spent yesterday heavily sedated in the medical wing of L.A.'s Twin Towers jail, a source close to her told The News. Meanwhile, Hilton's friends in the Hollywood party set were losing no time trying to steal her socialite crown. "Although her friends are saying supportive things in public, behind her back they're saying she's faking it," said the insider. "Paris is the queen bee of her clique in Hollywood. ... Now she's not there, there is a lot of jostling for her crown. Nicole Richie is planning parties, Kimberly Stewart is planning parties, Kim Kardashian is planning parties. "Thank God [Lindsay Lohan] is in rehab." Sheriff under fire in Paris Hilton case He's been accused of using his authority to benefit friends and supporters. Since taking office he's accepted thousands of dollars worth of freebie meals, sports tickets and trips. Now Baca is facing accusations of favoritism after making the decision that allowed Hilton to leave jail Thursday to serve out her sentence at her West Hollywood home. He dismissed that criticism, saying Friday that Hilton had been ordered to spend an unusually long time behind bars. The union representing deputy sheriffs demanded that Baca "put a stop to his special treatment for celebrity inmates." And county Supervisor Don Knabe said he was stunned to find out Baca released Hilton without consulting the court. "I would have thought he would have better judgment than that," Knabe said. The county Board of Supervisors will demand a report on Hilton's release and Baca's decision-making in the matter, Knabe said. When Mel Gibson was arrested for drunken driving, the department withheld video and audio tapes of the arrest, asserting they were exempt from open-government laws. There were questions about favorable treatment for Gibson after a sheriff's spokesman initially said the arrest occurred "without incident" and made no mention of the superstar's now-notorious anti-Semitic rant. Last year, the Los Angeles Times reported Baca put one of his closest friends on the payroll as a $105,000-a-year adviser. The newspaper also said he had accepted more than $42,000 in gifts since taking office, including some from those who do business with his department. In 2004, he took more gifts than California's other 57 sheriffs combined.
  16. Paris on her way back to jail.
  17. I fish in water that often has visibility of over 20 feet so visibility is a definite factor for me. While fishing for fish that tend to be less line shy, using techniques where line visibility are a little less of a factor, or like when I was fishing deep saltwater I often used braid with either a top shot of mono or a leader of fluorocarbon. In fact I even have caught quite a few sharks using braid as leader. Sure I would get cut of some but not as often as you might think. I found the small diameter more often fit between their teeth and once I brought the shark to the boat by simply changing the line angle several times while working the rod tip up and down it made for a quick release. A charter captain friend was so amazed by the technique he even started using it on his boat. Fluorocarbon definitely has its place but just as most things that come out they are often over hyped. That is why listen and reading others field experience pays such dividends. I fish clear water with zero vegetation and the only variation is the size of the rock from very small to huge. Therefore, my requirements are completely different from some others here. Of course knot strength is always important. Does anyone remember the oval line that was out years ago? I do not recall now who made it but I seem to remember one being called 14/40 saying it was the size of 14lb. line but with the breaking strength of 40lb. line. Well I only had it on one rod and reel but I lost more fish on that stuff than all the rest of my rods and reels put together. I swear it must have been a fish conspiracy because the fish loved to torment me by hitting that rigged rod and reel only to have knot fail. I do believe I heard the fish laughing at me! The same knots that did not fail on the round mono mind you. Boy, I could not get rid of that stuff fast enough. We all like to try new things and sometimes they turn out to be great new inventions. Sometimes, however, they turn out to be better at catching fishermen than fish. Hey, it is all fun, and you live and learn then hopefully pass on what you learn so the next guy can learn from your mistakes. New fishermen now days have advantages like bassresource.com and TT to educate them on technique and tackle that shaves untold years of the learning curve. So while tests are great, fellow forum members keep sharing your knowledge as there is no substitute for hands on experience to validate those test results.
  18. TackleTour's Fluorocarbon Showdown Sequel!! Is out!! Quotes below are excerpts from the full article that can be found at http://www.tackletour.com/reviewfluorocarbon2.html FC Stretch Test Results: Products in red displayed the most stretch, while products in black showed the least. Some stretched even more after soaking for various lengths of time (color key at top of chart) ""Conclusions from our STRECTH and STRAIN TEST? Compared against our baseline product, Trilene XL, eight of our fourteen lines showed overall stretch results equal to or greater than this baseline when dry. Five of these eight were still worse than the Trilene XL even after we soaked the XL for 3 hours. That's a little over a third of the lines that fared worse than the our baseline mono. Even then, aside from a couple of products, the difference in stretch totals from this baseline was not very significant, and the surprise permanent deformation ( or strain ) results in the fluorocarbon is a bit disturbing. Certainly in this category, the overall performance of our FC lines was a disappointment." For the full report on the lines tested click http://www.tackletour.com/reviewfluorocarbon2.html NEXT TEST WAS VISIBILITY "Conclusions from our visibility tests? We'd say largely inconclusive. For one, it's difficult to determine if what we see is the same as what a fish can see. From our photographs, it would certainly appear that some of the lines are difficult to find, but then again, so is the Berkley Trilene XL! What's more, how important is line visibility over, say, line diameter? The larger the diameter of your line, the greater disturbance it will create in the water and the easier it will be for a fish to sense this disturbance through its lateral line. In that case, visibility is really a moot point. Once again, too many variables to consider to truly develop a viable conclusion." "Conclusion: Have we burst the fluorocarbon bubble? Perhaps so, perhaps not. What we have shown for certain is that fluorocarbon isn't perfect, but then again, what fishing line, or product is? More importantly, we've shown not all fluorocarbon lines are created equal. Some, like the Seaguar Invisx actually have very good knot strength, but this same line has terrible stretch performance. Others, like Sunline Shooter FC is great against stretch, but faired poorly in our knot strength test. Our invisibility tests were inconclusive and the strain results were troubling. We say enough with the lab. It's time to take these tests to the next level and experience both the good and the bad of fluorocarbon on the water to see what the true redeeming qualities of these individual products might be. Certainly, not all fluorocarbons are created equal, but we're now prepared to go out and discover which versions, if any, are worth the expense."
  19. BOOYAH, Roadwarrior can verify I can afford to give away some tackle as he has seen less than half of what I have after I gave away a 1/3 to a step-son. Right RW?
  20. BOOYAH, take frogtog's offer seriously as there are others here including myself that are willing to contribute to helping you get back on your feet by contributing free tackle. It is up to you but let us know how you fish and the lures you lost, and maybe the mods can help get the tackle to you. The people here will take care of the rest. We all buy extra tackle we can spare from time to time for a fellow angler in need when he is victimized. It is not charity, it is others caring that have been there and understand offering a helping hand. Perhaps the site could even establish a resource, members could contribute to that could be used to help out other members that are victims of such thefts. It is just an idea that if others think is worthwhile as well as the forum it could help members in need.
  21. Dodgeguy, what is your opinion and experience about the visibility issue in ultraclear water fishing with fluorocarbon? I used fluoro in saltwater with good sucess but here is ultraclear freshwater some are telling me that the clear version fluoro on bluebird days can cause it to shine in the water due to contrast and can cause the fish in my lake to become line shy. Bull Shoals can have 20 foot clarity with a slight green tint. That is my reasoning for purchasing the new green tint Youzuri H2O. I have not been able to try it yet to test it sided by side with the clear Seagar. Returning to my roots so to speak after so many years with so many advances in technonogy it is like learning to fish freshwater as a beginner in many ways. Some things I hear turn out to be true and good advise and others things turn out to just be false information put out by the tackle makers and passed on by individuals as fact like always. Trial and error tells the tail but can be expensive especially with the prices of some tackle now days. Sorry I missed your posts on fluoro strecth for instance. If you have any more observations please pass them on again even if you have done so before.
  22. From:http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,277097,00.html FRUITHURST, Ala. The Mystery of the Monster pig appears to have been solved. The 1,051-pound hog, shot and killed by 11-year-old Jamison Stone and the subject of a world-wide Web firestorm over the photo's authenticity, really is... Fred. That's "Fred" the pig, and according to Rhonda and Phil Blissitt their humongous hog escaped on April 29, four days before it was killed, according to the Star newspaper. Late Thursday evening, their claims were confirmed by Andy Howell, Game Warden for the Alabama Department of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries. "I didn't want to stir up anything," Rhonda Blissitt said. "I just wanted the truth to be told. That wasn't a wild pig." Her husband agreed. "If it went down in the record book, it would be deceiving, and we'd know that for the rest of our lives." The monster hog gained worldwide acclaim after he was bagged by 11-year-old Jamison Stone, a Pickensville native, with a .50-caliber pistol on May 3 at the Lost Creek Plantation, LLC, a hunting preserve in Delta. The big boar was hunted inside a large, low-fence enclosure and fired upon 16 times by Stone, who struck the animal nearly a half-dozen times during the three-hour hunt. Phil Blissitt purchased the pig for his wife as a Christmas gift in December of 2004. From 6 weeks old, they raised the pig as it grew to its enormous size. Not long ago, they decided to sell off all of their pigs. Eddy Borden, owner of Lost Creek Plantation, purchased Fred. Attempts by The Star to reach Borden were unsuccessful. While Rhonda Blissitt was somewhat in the dark about the potential demise of her pet, Phil Blissitt said he was under the understanding that it would breed with other female pigs and then "probably be hunted." Many other of their former pigs like their other farm animals had been raised for the purpose of agricultural harvest. As the Blissitts recounted the events of the last two days, they told stories and made many references to the gentleness of their former "pet." From his treats of canned sweet potatoes to how their grandchildren would play with him, their stories painted the picture of a gentle giant. They even talked about how their small Chihuahua would get in the pen with him and come out unscathed. "But if they hadn't fed him in a while," Rhonda Blissitt said, "he could have gotten irate." Phil Blissitt said he became irritated when they learned about all the doubters who said photos of Fred were doctored. "That was a big hog," he said. The information of the pig's previous owner came out on the same day that officials from the Fish and Wildlife concluded their investigation of the hunt. They concluded that nothing illegal happened under the guidelines of Alabama law. Allan Andress, enforcement chief for the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division, said they learned the hog's origin as the investigation unfolded. "We were able to determine that he came from a domesticated environment," he said. "So, he was not feral to start with. Therefore, he would not violate our feral swine trapping and relocating rule." Mike Stone, Jamison's father, contends that he was unaware of the origin of the pig. Before, during and after the hunt and until late Thursday night, when contacted by The Star Mike Stone was under the impression that the hog was feral. "We were told that it was a feral hog," Mike Stone said, "and we hunted it on the pretense that it was a feral hog."
  23. Winged Cat/Fox Gauardian. TackleTours says they are going to test fluorocarbon lines of the major brands for handling and more in future tests so we will just have to see what comes out. I found the strecth results intersting since everyone had for so long been saying how flurocarbon had little to no strecth and then to find they were pretty much equal to mono. I like it when someone puts claims and actual products to real world tests to get a side by side comparison.
  24. It is all the rules that must be followed, the time limits involved, and I for one just wonder if it is worth the hassle and stress on the fish especially. I had my name on some records growing up playing sports and while some people live for such things I just loved to play besides records are made to be broken. No one remembers now anyway who that kid was. I would rather be remebered for who I am than what I once caught but then that is just me.
  25. Yea, this is why I would think hard and long before I claim a record. All the hype, attacks, is hardly worth it. I feel sorry for the young man but as can be seen some of the pics are misleading but who knows if it was deliberate or not. Either way it was a trophy, it is just some times the hype takes on a life of its own. Personally I hope it all works out for the best for the young man and the adults don't leave too much of a lasting negative impact on him. When exceptional claims are made exceptional evidence is unfortunately required and when adults get involved egos and tempers often color the facts into the background. I understand from personal experience how hard it can be because I had to carry a copy of my birth certificate to all my little league games, as well as the other sports I participated in because my age was always being challenged. Adults refused to believe my age even when they were shown my birth certificate. People can be very cruel and unforgiving.
