  1. Carburetor, wing window, clutch, brights switch on the floor
  2. Spinnerbait, swim jig, Texas rig, shakey head, weedless stick bait.
  3. It was just a cheap Lew's Hank Parker speed stick.
  4. I feel your pain. I just did the exact same thing Friday night. I turned a 7 footer into a 6' 8". Good luck on your replacement.
  5. As many as it takes until I start getting bit. I usually start with a moving bait and work my way to slower and smaller presentations. Yesterday was tough: spinnerbait, swim jig, arkie jig, Texas rig (zoom trick worm, speed craw, yum wooly bug), shakey head finesse worm, weightless stick bait... So... 8. Had one on the spinnerbait and lost it. Swung on one each on the shakey head and stick bait and missed.
  6. It doesn't always work but my fallback is either a Zoom trick worm on a Texas rig or a Zoom finesse worm on a shakey head or drop shot.
  7. Got a 17" and a 15" on a Texas rig after work today.
  8. Just this little fella on a Texas rigged trick worm before work yesterday.
  9. I've caught freshwater drum in Oklahoma.
  10. Drum maybe? I lost a possible PB largemouth this past weekend and another the weekend before. Both were at least 4lb probably 5 or more. Both on the same SK bluegill swim jig on the edge of a coontail line next to deeper water. Two completely different lakes. The one last weekend was bigger and jumped 2-3' out of the water. Lost both within 6'of the bank...
  11. This morning and last Sunday I had big one on a swim jig. Got them all the way to the bank and they got off. I didn't give them any slack. Not sure what went wrong. Resorted to my skunk beater and got a small one this morning on a Zoom UV Speed Craw on a 1/8oz shakey head. My 4 year old daughter caught a crawdad on a worm.
  12. I use 15lb braid on my spinning setups and 50lb braid for casting. I like bring able to change my leader to any weight I want. I use mono leaders for abrasion resistance and to add a little stretch. It's also cheaper than cutting off braid. UL trout fishing is the only thing I don't use braid for.
  13. I just started getting into swim jigs a couple of weeks ago. They truly are a 4x4 jig. It's probably my favorite moving bait for grass or when conditions aren't right for a spinnerbait. You can cover the whole water column and pitch 'em too.
  14. Zoom trick worms, finesse worms, and speed craws Arkie bass jigs Cotton Cordell Super Spot SK KVD Finesse Spinnerbait
  15. 98 degrees yesterday in SE Kansas. Went fishing this morning and it was 56 and raining.
  16. 6'6"M/MF Spinning - wacky, drop shot, shakey head, some crankbaits, small spinnerbaits 7' MH/F Casting - spinnerbaits, Texas rigs, jigs, crankbaits These two and a backpack for tackle cover most of my needs.
  17. Got 3 on a Zoom speed craw on a shakey head KVD 3/8 oz spinnerbait
  18. First bass I caught on a jig and first time I had been to this lake in 15 years. No bites for 2 hours and I was about to head home. 20".
  19. When the bite gets tough for me my go to skunk beaters are a wacky rig, drop shot, or shakey head. Hang in there, Fall is almost here.
  20. A lot of great suggestions have been made. I would add a drop shot to keep your plastics up off the muck bottom.
  21. I usually throw 1/4 oz and under on a medium spinning with 15lb Powerpro to 8lb Big Game. 3/8 oz and up goes on a MH casting with 50lb Powerpro to 12lb Big Game.
  22. This spring I went to Roaring River in SW Missouri. Caught 13 rainbow all on a 3" bubblegum trout worm wacky rigged on a #12 hook.
  23. A new PB white bass on a Cotton Cordell lipless crankbait.
  24. I use Trilene Big Game mono. It's cheap so I don't mind changing out leaders often and I also use it for backing. It gives me just a little bit of stretch too.
