  1. No, I could never fish 50 rods, or afford 50 of the rods that I buy. I'd rather own one high end nice rod, than half a dozen lesser rods. Guns are like this as well, some guys will have hundreds of cheap guns, while others will have a dozen or two high end models. Then there is the rare uber rich guy that has hundreds of expensive guns. I imagine fishing is the same way.
  2. Just here to complain about Spawning Bass and the Spring ? 4 fish, 5 bites. 3.5# on a buzzbait was the best fish. The struggle bus must go on until moral improves. Last one is really why I'm destined for greatness, and yes he's one of the 4 LMAO
  3. Two Bass.......but they were both quality, and both you and your friend got to that magic number in my book, 5lbs. That's actually a successful outing in my book easily. It's all about those 5lb+ fish to me. Exactly, I rather catch a single 5lb fish than dozens of dinks.
  4. Magnificent fish, congrats! I can't be the first one to say that you look like Christopher Lloyd ? eta: Change that avatar my man, that's old news, you in the 7-8lb club now
  5. Outstanding! Let the flow gates open now ? You and Jar start posting pics, the world will be right......HURRY UP WEATHER, we're waiting! ?
  6. Went to my local store yesterday trying to find some more Ti buzzbaits and spinnerbaits, sales guy said pretty much nobody makes Ti stuff anymore because of the price. I'd pay $20 bucks vs. $10 bucks for a Ti Buzzbait for sure.
  7. Yeah I had some in the cart the other night.....they were like $8-9. Just have to order a reel to get that free shipping ?
  8. Don't listen to the monkey, don't listen to the monkey, don't listen to the monkey.......? Dang that looks painful!
  9. 20% of the Classic field were from the North or Canada, 4 from CAN, 3 from MN, and 3 from WI, 1 from MI. Learned that stat today, and it's an important one in my book. Illustrates that guys are just as hardcore, and capable of Bass angler as any other region in the country including down here in the SE where it really all started. You guys seem to make the most of it up there, I guess that's what I'm saying. You're outnumbered here currently amigo, put the Winter down, and slowly back away ?
  10. Magnifcent Pat! Congrats! Looks like a toad to me, where's the rest of the glamour shots, I need some body shot action ?
  11. On it, and look at that baby faced kid in 2018 vs the steely eyed vet in 22 ? Nice fish brother! #realwinterboys?
  12. Now that's the type of silver lining I'm talking about ? As mentioned above, now you can set/create some really awesome and permanent structure, cover, and bedding areas in there. Pond Boss just put out an awesome video showing some examples of it. That pond will be magnificent again!
  13. Can only imagine the pain friend. It will get better, and you'll find a silver lining in time.
  14. I'm stoked, I miss your reports, and pics. I have zero doubt you'll be crushing some hawgs soon ?
  15. Opening day, cold beer.....somebody will be slaying them soon hopefully ?
  16. Thanks Katie! Gonna try to find the owner of the rod/reel, as it has some weird name on it. Could be someone's sentimental favorite, the rod is perfectly fine, will inspect the reel if I can't find the owner ?? The key all along was to actually try and not catch a Bass, and do so with as little effort as possible......why didn't you guys tell me sooner ?
  17. So sorry to see this brother! Hopefully you can get it fixed, and if so you can look forward to that initial boom period after the first several years for big fish. All the fish die?
  18. Straight hammer bro! Very impressive, and the jelly inside me says it's all because of the hat ? ---------------------------------------------- Went to the local Monkey hangout and bought my biggest bait to date in terms of length, an 8"/2.5oz Sneaky Pete in Bone. Didn't fish today, as took the morning and cleaned trash from the lake.....found a Loomis IMX/Shimano Crappie rig lol. Anyways, I had to see the action on this new bait, so I went down to the dock. I'd say the 10th cast, I watched this submarine track the bait for a yard or two and then absolutely crush it. Took forever to get off the hook though which kind of soured it, but she swam off fine. Honestly wasn't trying to catch a fish, go freaking figure. Spend the last two days fishing hard for nothing even close to the size of this fish, and then bam I catch her from the dock with a single pole and lure. Bass fishing is the most frustrating and exciting hobby I've ever had by a large margin. I completely see why there is a whole sub community of Bass anglers who dedicate themselves to throwing big swimbaits. Lastly, somehow while I was collecting trash this cool guy ended up at my feet. Here I am throwing red baits like an absolute FOOL ?
  19. My favorite place to fish on Earth is the Florida Keys. What a fun sounding trip, look forward to some pics brother!
  20. Slowly buying bigger and bigger swimbaits. 8" is now my biggest.
  21. Karma found a G Loomis IMX with a nice little Shimano spinning reel while I was cleaning trash off the lake today
  22. Nice, you taking a pole or two on your trip? Have a blast and be safe!
  23. At this point I'm just fishing pretty lures, until hot summer nights. That's okay, I can't really stop until the white whale hits the net anyways, many days over the last month I've said that's it only to be there the next day ? Tomorrow I'm going to clean a portion of the lake of trash, need a big numbers day ?
  24. Katie is going to be living in a cardboard shack with a dirty monkey, and a yard slap full of tackle if she doesn't get open water soon ?
  25. Yeah half the time I turn off the GoPro because how bad I'm sucking, I end up catching a toad with it off ? Look forward to seeing some fish you catch on that new Shimano 190sf you Baitmonkey'd me into buying ?
