@PhishLI Awesome fish, but even more awesome mom is making a recovery.....that's like catching a DD 🙂 If you ever had to catch a Bass without breaking your tamales, I think you might quit the sport.

Watching Gussy and Christie on Mercer right now. So freaking pumped about the Classic.....the one sporting event that feels the same way it did in the 90s when I was growing up. Pro sports alienated so many fans, BASS is grateful for every one of theirs.

It becomes a more electronics/ledge based fishery after the spawn, but I haven't fished the lake in a really long time. Going to Guntersville anytime will be awesome. ETA: Check out the 2023 BPT event on Guntersville from last year. Wheeler won ledge fishing a jighead minnow IIrc. Overall the lake was fishing great weight wise.

The wind might be a challenge, but those conditions are only going to help the scopers. I think it'll be won on a jighead minnow scoping, shocking prediction I know 😁

There should be an Elite event every weekend, or at least every other weekend, I had to resort to watching an every fish counts Redcrest on Lay......do better BASS 😁

That's good info @TnRiver46, a biologist had just told me that he's seen green fish with them as well.

Thanks Woody! Agreed that's a very interesting fish in the 3rd pic, and I caught one like that not too long ago, but I came to the conclusion it was just a weird Spot because it had tongue teeth. Appreciate the kind words @Pat Brown, right back at ya!

Had a great day on the spin pole, caught about 30 on a whacky rig yamamato 5" senko. 23.5lb bag with a 8.5 big fish. Waiting on confirmation from the tag in the 8.5 fish, but she could have quite the story to tell if it's the fish I hope it is. Think she was part of a recent shock study. Started going barbless a week or two ago on the whacky rig, and she's the first Bass I've caught that exceeded my lb. test line.......so I'm calling her my most "sporting fish" to date. 6.1 was from a cpl. days ago but wanted to throw it in the video. She had already spawned at least once (Another data point that tells me the biggest fish spawn first and earlier than most anglers think) 6.1

^^^ Reward the true innovators, not the scummy rip off artists ^^^ Very sad to see what the industry has become......all these small companies, many JDM invent these awesome baits only for big corporate conglomerates like Pure Fishing, or Rapala to rip them off, and to throw salt in the wounds, rig the voting at ICast so that the Nessie won best "NEW" bait of show. What a joke. If anglers keep rewarding Pure Fishing/Rapala by buying blatant copies, innovation will continue to take a nose dive. Companies can do this a right way.....just look at what SPRO did with the Chad Shad, they got together with Kevin from KGB and they created a mass production version of the resin Chad Shad. Look at what Missile Baits did when they wanted a Spunk Shad, they contacted Hog Farmer and licensed the bait from them.

Out of the box they're a nose down bait. Something like the Shimano World Minnow is a perfectly horizontal Jerkbait

I finally had my first blow up on the Rat 50 this morning, massive explosion......NO HOOKUP 😭 ETA: The stupid tail/rear hook design is a fatal flaw.....the back treble catches the tail 2/10 casts and then you're fishing a bait with only one hook essentially, almost positive that's why I missed the fish.

The Shimano World Minnow and the 110/110jr in the Fall 110/110jr in the winter 110 slowly transitioning into the Jackall Rerange in the Spring early Summer To me the 110 represents the 110, 110 Jr, 110+1, 110 Jr +1. I want to the try the jr Shimano but haven't gotten around to it. Shimano flashboost is legit, I got the big swimbait, the popper, and the world minnow for over a year, and they all flat out catch fish.

That's a real by product of the 110's lip, the 110 bill is actually made to flex on hard twitches to dampen the action. The 110 is a "tap the slack" style colder/cold water jerkbait........compare that with a much more violent Jackall Rerange that excels in warmer waters, or even the Shimano World Minnow that is kind of a blend b/t the two. All three are similar sized/depth ranges, all three have different thickness lips, and the 110 is easily, and noticeably smallest/thinnest, and can even flex by hard human touch. It's made thin by design. The 110 for all its faults, is the most engineered and perfected jerkbait I've seen to date. eta: read your second reply about not contacting MB

His dad caught a 17+ from Ivie two years ago, and he netted that fish for his dad. Kid has never known anything but monster Bass. Kudos to a wonderful father, we all should be so lucky and blessed. @Pat Brown Does an exceptional job with Jake in this regard.
