Daiwa Tatula CT?
It's this bro, as soon as the tariffs were on the menu I was all over AE and had a cart full of things I was considering. So many things just became unavailable, but if you go to AE with a non US URL many things that disappeared or 5xd in price are available or still reasonably priced. Maybe it's being discontinued, no idea, but literally weeks ago was 89 bucks. I got a couple reel handles. One was a dollar and another like 8, they're either not available to ship to the US now or it's like $57 for shipping plus "extra charges" or however they worded it. Some lures I was looking at either became unavailable to ship to US but some only increased a few bucks plus $12 shipping from 2 bucks or free shipping. Same thing with PE line, brands i was looking at either unavailable now or jacked up. JOF is gonna get tested, I've heard it's decent.

Daiwa Tatula CT?
This fuego sv was 89 bucks just before the tariffs made me regret not blowing a whole paycheck on fishing stuff before we got screwed. It's $664 total bow after all the extra fees We're cooked and there's no going back, once companies taste this blood we're gonna be paying top dollar for junk for the rest of our lives.

Reel Maintenance Mega Thread
Did the Abu Garcia Ultra Max tonight Something I didn't even think about was putting back the circled piece in a very particular way. The other reels, at least without thinking, fit into the main shaft snug and just sat on their own flush. In the Abu it was a bite wobbly, but I didn't realize this until the spool wouldn't engage after I put it all back together. I thought I put it in backwards, which really messed with my head because I was very careful about keeping things in their exact orientation from on to off and back. But I was right, I had placed it correctly. It just didn't sit in It's subtle indentation to catch correctly, which was easy to spot once I took a closer look. I'll go back through them all and take closer pics to show some of the differences in detail. You can see here that the Abu is super basic. There's a couple small washers inside the drag star instead of layed out next to it, but you can still see compared to the other pics above the Abu is rather bare. Also this one kept some dark spots on the gear after scrubbing with simple green and a toothbrush while the others scrubbed clean. Not sure what exactly the discoloration is, but I couldn't pick it out with a fingernail either. Don't think it makes a functional difference, just wanted to mention it since I noticed it. Also it's the only reel that didn't have a carbon fiber drag, what is that? Kinda just feels like a piece of plastic. Should I be soaking and cleaning and greasing these washers?

100 also has a lighter spool which almost always equates to better casts, control and distance.

Mepps spinners
Could you elaborate? How do they all behave differently?

I'll add thatvu did take off the main gear and pinion to scrub with a toothbrush in some simple green cleaner. I have a couple of sets of drag clicker that I nabbed before the tariffs forced us to either pay way too much for stuff or made things unavailable. Got drag clicker set for my Tatula Elite and my 20 Tat sv 103. I'll post here about that too

Small Tackle Bag?
Fishing vest is the answer, comfortable and convenient, carry more or less and be good. Couple little plastic boxes for a few hard baits and you're golden. I also only fish in cargo pants now, more room to keep everything available to quickly handle a fish. Pliers, scale, scissors all accessible immediately without needing to put anything down or move my bag. It's just there and ready. Pliers are usually back pocket or belt holster. Scissors are on a retractable clip to a belt loop. Efficiently get the bass back in the water with speed

Bank fishing pack set up
This is why I started using a vest, my back was killing me after a long day beating the bank. Fishing vest helped a lot, and makes things much quicker and easier

Favorite Buzzbait
The googan squad buzzbait worked surprisingly well, but definitely had a thinner wire. After a few bends and fixes it got pulled into the lily pads and they wrapped around the arm... it snapped off I'm pretty sure they're liquidating and collapsing as a business, find a few on sale and go for it For those using the free swinging hooks, they fouling up sometimes on you? Like rolled onto itself and then stuck like that the whole retrieve back?

TW account messed up
Just don't save your credit card info on their site. They got hacked a couple years ago and were not very forthright about it all. They kept letting people order while there was an active risk if user data still being stolen. I reached out for support/answers and got absolutely ignored. order from Omnia or bait wrx

The CT is great and all that, but since you have the 24 100 you'll just end up wishing you paid the extra 47 bucks, world of difference in reel feel

Reel Maintenance Mega Thread
Everybody post your tips/experience here, this way people don't need to read through a hundred threads to find the juice The big take away is just do it. Yes you. You've been thinking about it for a while, nervous to wreck your reel. Just get an old one and do it. Don't have an old one? Okay fine, grab one at a flea market or FB market place for relatively cheap. My first time reel breakdown ended like this I had a few reels that have been sitting for a few years because they were my first. You know how you're first never really leaves you, always kinda there in the back of your mind like the 10#er you lost 25 years ago. Old Kastking and Piscifun reels, like 10 years old each. Crazy thing is they both looked pretty good inside considering. I only cleaned the main gear and pinion gear+housing. What did I learn? You can take some things apart as a group, hold upside and take off the drag star to catch all washers etc together in order... you can't put them back together as one stack. They don't line up perfectly and something will slip and lose its place! Then you're questioning everything Once I did one, I was ready to do 3 more over the next few days. Did a 13 fishing concept z from 5/6 years ago and another Kastking even older. A 10 year old Speed Demon. The big take away was just do it Way scarier on paper, just do it Here's a question, can I just add grease without cleaning? Aside from the main gear and pinion, ehat are the other critical parts to clean before lubing? Just lay everything out as you take it off, it's actually pretty simple in practice. That's all it takes. It's not as intimidating as it seems on the surface. Just go slow Lay it all out as you peel it off piece by piece Go slow Then do it backwards No, really it's that simple. Seriously To all the reel freaks To all the pros What are your tips, tricks, and advice for anybody dipping their toes into reel maintenance How do I know when it's enough grease? Anybody who's done it for the first time, what are your thoughts on your experience? After my first i did 3 more over the next few nights Kastking royal legend Psicfun torrent Kastking speed demon 13 fishing concept z I think it was the royal legend had a smallnpin in the drag star that was rhe clicker, very small spring and pin inside to make the noise. Most of the 4 of them were close to the same, certainly similar enough, aside from that weird drag star pin thing. Is that enough grease in the main gear/pinion gear in this pic?

Daiwa Tatula Elite vs Daiwa Tatula 100 2023
Honestly, the new 100 competes with the zillion. Anyone saying otherwise is trying to make themselves feel better that they already got the zillion. The drag clicker is nice, and yes it will skip a bit better and handle lighter lures better, but general fishing the 100 holds its own in castability and reel feel. Smoother than melted butter

BACKING ON BAITCASTING REEL
Adding backing adds weight Many people pay a premium for lighter spools, why wreck it with backing? All braid spool, this is the answer https://youtu.be/ve7kovfr7w0?feature=shared

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Sounds like the kinda guy I'd go fishin with Since my first girl was born about 90% of my fishing has been after the girls go to bed. Hard for me to give up that time, especially when they're young. I love a finesse spinnerbait for smallies, keeps my feelings like I'm fishing even when I'm not catching.

Baitcaster already damaged
How do you even find something like this? I plan to poke around that site more, but I've spent a lot if time looking into daiwa info and it's scarce. Never been brought to a Japanese site aside from looking at other countries daiwa website. From where?

What kind of phone do you have? Some gallery apps have an option after you click edit to "resize" a photo, usually it lists options as percentage in 20$ smaller increments.

We're you on a yak? I'll take numbers of small smallies over 0 smallies any day, just throw some finesse rigs and every 1.5 pounder will feel like a monster You ever watch Tackle2thepeople on YouTube? Dude from around here that really found a way to milk the algorithm and blow up. He hits the Charles sometimes, other spots across mass. Solid channel for some random tid bits, I think he focuses on shorts, great for the adhd haha

The latest sale thread
Major difference is omnia has customer service like it's actually a local tackle shop you just walked into. And killer sales to boot. No other tackle retailer can even come close in terms of customer service.

Frankenreel Meets Lightning
Watched a couple videos with some good shots of the handle, definitely no gap at all between handle and drag star. Also not wobbly on the spin, gonna try to level out the spring or something and see if that fixes it I'm not really sure what you mean. I didn't take the star off or anything, so if that's something underneath I'll have to take a look later. I'm wondering if I let the spring come just a little loose and lose its spot... or maybe it bent it squeezing down to take the handle off? Maybe I'm just going crazy looking too hard. Definitely does a bit of a wave when spinning but maybe it's no big deal
